Eternity....such a difficult concept to grasp with our weak human mind.

Eternity past and eternity future.Contemplating such can cause many a headache. As children of God eternity is ours to experience. We wont have to wonder what eternity will be like for we are a part of it even now, arent we? As I think about eternity several questions pop into my mind...

Such as......

Will we ever need to take a "nap"?..I like naps..lol

Will a billion years passing seem like a day?

Will we have popcorn and root beer in endless supply?

Will we run out of things to do?

What about our memory..will be always be capable to recall all we do thru out eternity?
****************************************************************************

Have you ever thought about eternity past? I have.

Scripture says that "In the beginning" God created heavens and the earth. What does that mean exactly? I mean, how far back does eternity go? Is the universe only as old as the existence of the earth and the stars we see at nite? Was there anything material around 20 trillion years ago? The concept of no beginning of the Trinity causes a spirit of humility and humbleness within my heart.

I realize that speculation can be a dangerous thing..But as a human I do speculate about such things. And when I do ..I become amazed at the Awesomeness of God !! As I look at the photos taken by the Hubble Telescope over the years, I think of the passage in Psalms.."the heavens declare the glory of God". Ipraise God that Hre gave me eyes to see and enjoy the beauty of His Universe.

Oh Well...these are the ramblings of an Animal...sigh.

take some Kleenex or TP and a solid brass door knob. Start gently polishing the door knob. Keep polishing until the door knob is worn away and disappears. That is the BEGINNiNG of eternity.... :-)

I will be so happy to be in heaven with Jesus Christ I doubt I will think about my loved ones who are not there. If I remember right egw said we would find out why they are not in heaven. Don't believe her any more.

High in the North in a land called Svithjod there is a mountain.
It is a hundred miles long and a hundred miles high
and once every thousand years a little bird comes to this mountain to sharpen its beak.

When the mountain has thus been worn away a single day of eternity will have passed.

From Hendrik Willem van Loon's History of Mankind (published 1922), a version of the full quotation:

Eternity

Do you ever wonder
What heaven would be like?
The streets within paved with gold
The Lord’s glory it’s only light

No need for a temple
To worship and to pray
The Lamb of God is its temple
Whom we worship every day

As well as all of this
There shall be no more pain
Nor sorrow or afflictions
We shall be forever changed

For all the former things
That we struggled with before
At last we shall be freed from it
And at peace with our Lord

Can a star tell us when the first two atoms collided to point to its vastness in space?

Nether can we for we are spun out of the stuff of nothingness, the stuff of eternity.

We are the children of the stars and that is incomprehensible to us.
