Does anyone have information about Larry Wilson? Is he a minister? Where is he? He and I were in Academy together. He was a delightful person to know. I remember his very sweet mother? Is he no longer SDA? What direction did he go? | ||

As far as I know Larry is still very much an Adventist. I am pretty sure he lives in Cleveland, TN. Larry made some big claims about the end of the World a few years back. His ministry was catching on and after a time and his predictions failed he has taken a low profile. I thought/think well of Larry and his wife. | ||

I still keep in touch with my SDA Aunt and Uncle who keep up with Larry Wilson. Larry was Disfellowshipped a few years back. Apparently he still dabbles in date setting and time prophecies. I recall seeing something about him making a 2010 prediction. While I don't recommend his work (EGW Apologist) it was instrumental in leading me out of the SDA box. | ||

I have a friend who got very involved in LW--he seemed like a solution to many SDAs who grew up on the fear of the second coming and had gotten really neurotic about why Jesus hadn't returned yet (you know how many of us kind of lived in terror and paranoia, watching for Sunday laws, etc.). He had lots of charts using the Jubilee Year and a whole book on what Revelation REALLY means. He, I'm sure, is very sincere and trying to make sense of the EGW/SDA teachings. (Good Luck) |
