Just to be upfront, my politics are generally Conservative.

Several years ago I good friend of mine recommended Glenn Beck. I thought ok and really enjoyed the radio show. This was all before I knew he was a Mormon.

I was never a regular listener only catching bits and pieces. But the more I listened the more it disturbed me. I began to wonder if he was preaching Mormonism without using the M word. My friend at work is an avid listener and repeats the doom and gloom message.

It hit me today what is wrong with Glenn Beck. There is no hope in his words. It sounded so Adventist, stock up on food and ammo. You had better be prepared...you all know the routine.

To make a long story short I had a talk about this with my friend at work. He immediately asked. Who do you think the antichrist is? I said, I don't know, but I know who the REAL CHRIST IS!

Yes, Treasurehntr. Our hope is Who we know. Everything else is uncertain.

It's amazing, now, to live in hope instead of fear.

I don't know what Glen Beck says, but I know what Matthew 6:19-34 says.

Now who are we supposed to believe, Glen Beck or Jesus?

I'm using that line. "I know who the real Christ is." That's epic.

I'm familiar with Glen Beck. A lot of people in my family love him, Dad included. My dad also has an arsenal, so go figure. I always found Beck to be way too melodramatic for me.

I never knew the guy was a Mormon. That's interesting and your point about the hopelessness in his words as connected to his religion is very eye-opening. I never made the connection between general hopelessness like that and Mormonism, Adventism, etc. It's something for me to think about in the future. Thanks. :-)

And don't we find the exact opposite in the words of Jesus. That, more than anything, got Him in hot water with the religious leaders of His day.

He usurped what little authority they thought they had. Enormous crowds flocked to hear Him. When asked by the religious leaders, why the Temple guards had not brought Him, all they could say was "No man has ever spoken as this man."

May we never forget. "He who offers the most hope, has the most authority."
