I want to make a call for this Sunday as a day of prayer for our children. Today is Thursday and that gives everyone a chance to see the thread.

In the 11th chapter of John, Marys brother has taken sick and they send for Jesus.
I can well imagine Mary’s burdened heart for her sick brother, but before Jesus can get there her brother has died.
Everybody is lamenting, and finally the stick him in a grave and shut it up. Done.

Jesus announces he’s going to wake him up, and one of the people says something like, “If he’s getting some good sleep, that’s good ain’t it?”

They still don’t get it and Jesus put it in words anyone can understand, He’s dead.

When Jesus gets there he been dead four days already, and when Jesus gets there Mary say’s, “Lord, if you’d a been here he wouldn’t have died.” And Mary was crying and her weeping touched Jesus deeply, and some of them said, “Couldn’t the one who opened the eyes of the blind prevented this?”

But Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” And Martha says, “But Lord, he’s been dead four days! By now he stinketh!”

An awful lot of us have children and grand children laying around dead and stinking to high heaven. Some of them are on dope, or in jail, or refuse to darken the door of a church.

I’m going to put it in language anyone can understand, They’er dead, they are not resting in the Lord Jesus grace, they are just flat dead and we are crying about it!

Every night mothers wet their pillow with tears because of it and fathers drag around at work. Mothers acting like zombies so burdened down about their children, just trying to get through the day.
Some parents have spent years longing to see their children serving God instead of the devil and the situation is beginning to stink.

I won’t name names, but you know who you are that have carried a burden for their children and grand children.

In John 11:40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
Do you believe in the glory of God to raise the dead? To raise our children to eternal life? Or have you found some theological loop hole and declared it can’t be done?

One day Jesus called to you, “Come fourth!” And you came toward Jesus wrapped in stinking grave cloths, blinder than a bat till somebody helped you get unwrapped!

I’m not interested in a bunch of theological mumbo jumbo, all I want to hear is, “Come fourth!”
I want to see my children and my grandchildren saved and that’s all that’s going to relieve this stinking situation.

Lets take Sunday as a day of prayer for all our children. Lets get up Sunday and remember to pray, ask God to lay the burden on our hearts for the others of the forums children.

If you will do it, you don’t need to name names, just put in your requests.
It doesn’t mean to stay on your knees all day, just simply ask God to lay the children of this forum family on your heart, not only your own, but the others and lets bear one anothers burdens.

To all who are willing lets take away the cold hard stones of doubt and believe God for our children.

3 John 1:4
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth...

The reverse is also true ... there is no greater sorrow or heartbreak than to know that the son or daughter you love so very much is not walking in truth.

Please add my son David and my daughter Rachael to your prayers. They both prayed to accept the Lord as children but niether are walking close with Him today.

My son thinks God just created us and threw us out here and does not personally care for us because his prayers are not answered to his satisfaction and my daughter says that i raised her waaaaaay too conservatively and is enjoying her "liberty". i fear she honors God with her lips but her heart is far from Him.

As the years go by it has added sorrow upon sorrow to my heart. Many tears have been shed.

There is nothing you could do for me that would mean more to me than praying for my grown children.

From my heart i thank you so very, very much.

I know my son needs prayers, although he's only nine.....

He loves the Lord now, and I pray that he will always stay close to Him. Still, I know that there are a lot of temptations out there, bad influence of friends who don't love the Lord, violent games etc....
Please pray for my sons protection, and for me to be able to be a good mom to him....

Hubby and I will also join in praying for all of "our" children on Sunday...I have a daughter who I pray will be led to a church that teaches Biblically. She lives in Walla Walla. Does anyone know of good churches there?

She is a Christian, but I don't think her friends are into church, and I know it would be hard for her to go to a new church alone. But even if the timing isn't right for a church, I pray that she will draw closer to God.

I would also like to add my very dear friend's two children to the list. That they will draw close to God.

As the evening shadows gather and the crops languish in the field
Please dear heavenly father help us, again our hearts be still

We remember the miracle you have done, even now and away back when
Please Oh God won’t you help us now, and bring our children in

As the evening shadows gather, and the days grow dark with gloom
Help us to be faithful, and for our children make room

It is with alarm we see, our children floundering in the world
Won’t you please extend your mercy, let your flags of love unfurl

Yet Lord we give you praise, we fight not against your will
But remember Lord that we are dust, and again our hearts be still

Thank-you for the Lovely poem~it spoke to my heart~

I pray that each Parent & Grandparent on this
Forum create in their homes a, "soft place to fall,"
for their dear children~

Where else, in this cold world, do they have to return to, when 'Life' crushes them, but,
~"HOME?"~

I have a niece, Tammy, who grew up without her father because of divorce, and for whatever psychological reasons, has yet to abandon herself to God. As a result, she is quite spiritually dead, too,..overcome by the use of narcotics and alcohol.

Sunday has come and passed, I know, but I just wanted to add my concern for Tammy.

Glad you liked the poem Mj, at times the spiritual side of me kind of yields up the little poems, it seems a way to express my feelings..sort of like playing a musical instrument.

It was a good day of prayer,

Father,
i cry out to You from the bottom of my heart for our children and grandchildren. Pour out Your Holy Spirit upon them in these last days. Wherever they are whatever circumstances they find themselves in cast out Your net and draw them in. Speak to their hearts give them ears to hear Your voice and hearts to understand. Cause them to turn from their ways to Your ways. Lead them and guide them and direct their paths. Let not one foot stumble, remove the clouds of doubt and the hindering spirits, any obstacle that is in their path that they might run with joy the race you have set before them. Send forth Your Word to deliver them, Your Truth to empower them, protect them Lord from the wiles and snares and the lies of the enemy. Stretch forth Your hand and give them victory over temptations of the enemy, be their strength where they are weak grant that they might overcome the pull of the world and rise above the evil of our culture. Make them mighty in Your Spirit like David's mighty men. Teach them to Worship You in Spirit and in truth and praise You in good times and bad. Put Your hand upon them and bless them..may each one be covered in the blood, redeemed by the Lamb. Make their calling clear and sure that we might see Your goodness in the land of the living. These things i pray according to Your Word and in the Name above all names Jesus Christ Our Lord. amen
