Now some of this is a repeat of what I just wrote on Ric_b's thread, but this goes into more detail of what I was trying to write...

Dear _____

None of the cults can grasp how easy it is to obtain salvation. They all feel that effort is involved. If that were the case, it wouldn't be a FREE GIFT. It would be at least partly, WAGES.

Romans 5:15 says that salvation is a free gift, and because Jesus said: "IT IS FINISHED," when He was on the cross, the atonement was finished. Since the atonement was finished, isn't it insulting to God for a person to add their filthy rags to His holiness? (Because the Bible says our RIGHTEOUSNESS is filthy rags - Isaiah 64:6.)

It's either ALL Jesus righteousness or ALL our filthy rags! It isn't both. I know that you've been taught that you cannot say that you're saved, but the believers in the apostle Paul's day could. (Ephesians 2:8-9; 2nd Timothy 1:9; Titus 3:5)

ALL the urgings to do good works are for believers, not unbelievers, and not to secure their salvation, but to walk in the Spirit. Their salvation had already been accomplished for them as they had been told in Ephesians 2:8-9

According to the Bible, a person is saved FIRST and THEN the Holy Spirit starts changing them from the inside out. (Ephesians 1:13-14; Ephesians 2:8-9; 2nd Timothy 1:9; Titus 3:5; 1st John 2:12) The SDA church teaches that a person won't be saved until they've pushed the sin out by Jesus' power. Those two doctrines are not the same thing!

I love you, _____ and want to see you in Heaven, but if you're seeking to "push out all your sins with Jesus' power," before you can be sure of salvation, then you won't be saved, because you haven't accepted Jesus' finished work. The only way to be saved is to be as good as God and Jesus already accomplished that for us. Either we accept His work or not. None of the cults accept His work because they're working on adding their own. Those are the people who will wail: "LORD, LORD, DIDN'T WE DO GOOD WORKS IN YOUR NAME?!" etc. and Jesus will tell them sadly: "I never knew you." Jesus knows us by His Holy Spirit dwelling within, Who indwells a person when they believe on Jesus (not partly in Jesus and partly in their works) - Ephesians 1:13-14.

Love, Dianne

That's right. I do wish more SDAs realized what a cult they are in.

You're right, Dianne. I'm thinking that one of the reasons Adventists have so much trouble grasping the gospel is that they really don't understand that they are hopelessly depraved.

they really cannot avoid sin, not even by praying and committing to give it up. Praying for God to help us be good is not helpful.

Praying to receive Jesus and give up all we are to Him is the only way out of our communal grave.

WOW! That was really good writing. I know the time is coming for me as I can't take my cousins pushing the "If you love me you will obey my commandments", when I know they are talking about the TEN! Moreover, the Sabbath! I know where they are coming from and it literally took an act of God to change my mind. No, it was Jesus who changed my mind. But until that time, I wouldn't listen to other's either. Please pray for our families who are in the dark and confused. I had a women who told me last night she has been praying for me for years to come out of the cult with false doctrines. She prayed for me to come out of the bondage. I am so thankful for this women and I love her with all my heart. God is good!
