I'm thinking of an old thread so scuze me if my memory fails me.

One of the members here on FAF was researching F E Beldon. He was an early SDA hymn writer as well as the nephew of EGW. Apparently he had some serious questions about his aunt. He took it upon himself start a rumor and see if aunt ellen would bite and have a vision moment. Evidently, she did. She caught wind of the rumor, and soon has divine revelation. This confirmed in Beldon's mind that her visions were not visions at all. She had a network of people in the church feeding her somewhat private information.

Ultimately, this led to Beldon's leaving the church.

Again, I playing from memory here. My recolection of the thread might not be totally accurate.

Treasure~

This sounds like something D.M. Canright might have written about 'egw' in his book~

I have read plenty about 'egw's' "visions" after
reports from her "spies" (!!!) about people in
the church misbehaving!
