I'm going back into the classroom to teach full time for the first time in 9 years. I'll be teaching four sections of 9th grade English and one section of 10th grade World Lit. at Arrowhead Christian Academy. It's an absolutely wonderful interdenominational school, and the administration is supportive and Godly. But this is the first time I've taught as a true Christian, and I feel the need for prayer support. Please pray for my 100+ students, and pray that I'll be able to show Jesus to them. I'm so grateful to everyone on this site. I will continue to keep all of you in prayer, too. Thanks to all of you.

Please pray for my sister in law. A wonderful lady who has battled with adventist legalism....and cigarettes for many years. Two things have now happened in her life. First, she was told today that she has extreme circulatory problems which will most likely involve more than one surgery. The condition appears to be quite advanced and serious. At this point, she still doesn't know the extent of the problems.

The second thing is, on our trip to the clinic, to get the news, we shared our faith. She told me that she has found a wonderful grip on the gospel! Praise Jesus. I believe, at last, she is understanding that laws and doctrines of men (women!) will not protect and comfort when times get rough. The Gospel....the Good News of Jesus Christ is the ONLY thing that can help, and He has touched her life with His sweet spirit!

Though one makes me very sad, the other makes me want to dance! (That isn't a sin, is it....JUST KIDDING!) Pray His love and protection will become more and more real to her, as she moves forward into this fearful situation. Please pray that her situation can be used for the good of other members of the family still struggling with SDA legalism, that they may see the difference that keeping your eyes on Jesus can make in times of trouble. As she shared with me, she knows that no matter what, she has the ASSURANCE of knowing where her future will be. He does move in mysterious ways!

Please pray for a (heart healing) for two older brothers. We left the SDA church about 3 years ago and they have yet to be nice or come around to my husband and I. They would me but that would mean they would have to be around him. They blame him for us leaving among others that did also. Without going into the details about the situation, it's been very painful for me especially because I come from a large family (8 of us)and we were always close. It's a control thing with them and a so call family violation for leaving. We just could not take any more of the legalism, spiritual abuse and the unloving nature of the of group there. Not one would speak to us if they saw us on the street. I lost my dad last November and my mother is still alive and I know it is hard on her but she tries to keep peace by keeping silent. Sometimes she tries to slip in the usual Adventist conversation but I don't comment because we would always usually end up crying and it depresses me. Other than my dad dying , this has been the most painful thing I've had to endure in my lifetime. It's very trying but I'm at peace knowing one thing and that is I don't have to live up to their set of rules or EGW's either. I know they think we're lost and we're part of the "falling away." Please pray for me too. My husband has come to grips with it but it is very heart breaking for me. I read the Forum every day nearly and I usually don't write back because everything that is said I've experienced and more.It has been so helpful for me and I thank everyone of you.

Your friend,

Nancy

Bless you Nancy. I can only imagine how hard it is to have family doing this. All I can offer is that you should try to see them with God's heart of compassion, they truly don't understand what they are missing out on or the heartache they are causing, most likely. They really are literally blind and flailing away in the darkness. You cannot force change in them or their attitudes, all you can do is let the Lord change you and give you peace in the midst of the storm.

Keep living out the faith that the Lord has given you. Share with them openly the joyful things the Lord is doing for your family. Maybe they will turn and attack this as well, but it is a witness that in their hearts they will not be able to deny, and may just finally set them to thinking. Remember that Christ went through the same thing and He understands the hurt and CAN help you through it.

Most important of all, please! let Him lead you to a church body where you will be supported. You need that help and encouragement if you are to stand against the wall of legalism.

Of course we are praying for you!

I think we can pray that in some way God will use the disaster of Floyd to ultimately honor his name. We can pray that the Christ followers in its territory will be able to reach out and share the peace and hope of Jesus' love to those who are suffering with them. And the Jesus who walked on water and spoke to the winds and the waves can still bring order out of any chaos. Praise him for life and for caring even about our hearts and our temporary lives inside time.

Again another prayer request. I have made a few friends from "online" one being an Adventist family that has made contact to me. And they being still "infants" are searching for truth.

If you are a Yahoo user. She has questions, I have some answer's but I can't answer them all.

She is in a questioning "her faith" now.

IF you wish to make some or any contact with my friend, please email me, and I will introduce you to you by email only. In case we have LURKER's here, I will not post the information concerning my friend, for her and her family's safety.

Pray for her, She need's prayer. She has questions. Please pray for both of us. And if you can assist, I appreciate it.

Allenette, I think God can change anything. In fact, it didn't hit Florida nearly like they expected. Anyway, there is much to pray for. I was thinking in terms of people being evacuated ASAP, homes being spared, relief coming as quickly as possible, and like Colleen pointed out, that He will be glorified. Sometimes it takes these sort of things to get people's attention. There will people displaced for some time to come & the comforts of home we take for granted will be gone.
Now there's the 7 people in the TX church who were shot. I know it's a done deal & we can't bring anyone back, but there are families that have been destroyed & friends lost. And as my friend has pointed out, pray that He will stop any would-be copycat crimes.
Thanks for the tape.
God bless you & your family.

I would sincerely appreciate prayers for the new FAF group. I wish to dedicate this outreach entirely to God. My prayer is, that Christ will be glorified in all. I know God will send those who need to be there.
Thanks to those who've been praying for me, during the planning stages of this group. I've been unsure about whether or not, this is something I could do. But I've got to remind myself, it's not me who's doing anything. God's the almighty one, it's his gig, not mine! (Thank God!) I'm confident that He will show the way. My faith is in His awesome mercy and love.

Lynn:

I think I should clarify my post on F.A.F. for you: I didnt mean it as a slight, its just that when people attempt to help God micromanage something like the weather on one of His planets, I get a little desparate. :-) I get a mental picture of people attempting to advise God with His Business, as tho they are helping adjust a picture on the wall: "could you please move that storm just a leetle bit more to the RIGHT" -- see?

Because, following that logic, we would think that if God IS concerned with where storms hit, and CAN be petitioned to shift the location, direction, intensity, then they would ONLY EVER happen say, way out to sea, and then, only where there are no boats/humans/birds ("His eye is on the sparrow"), etc. (Because we must remind Him that we dont want anyone to get hurt!) We shouldnt have to petition the Almighty every time a real dilly blows thru, He'd have gotten the message that we didnt want it to hit here/there/whereever by now.

I am not trying to be sacreligious or condescending, just logical and reasonable :-) something I found very lacking in SDA, altho they do NOT hold any exclusive patent to that mindset.

Allenette, a Healthy Skeptic. :-)

"could you please move that storm just a leetle bit more to the RIGHT"
I believe He did just that.

Most of my Adventists friends are afraid to petition Him for any REAL miracle because they've been taught there's no such thing, only counterfeits from Satan. Personally, I'll petition Him every chance I get. (You have not because you ask not) There's no limit to His abilities. Don't be afraid to trade a little logic for faith. :^)

Thanks for the tape. I'm looking forward to listening to it.
