I am back from Florida. My son told me on Thursday the Air Force is sending him over seas. This is after saying he was going and then telling him he is not. He will be going to Afghanistan near the end of August and will be there until February 2011. Please pray for him, that if that is where God wants him, he will go and if that is not where God wants him, he will stay state side. I am leaving that in God's hands. Diana L | ||

I know this is not on the same level of importance as some others posted here.... And yet I would like to ask for your prayers concerning the loss of a much loved pet. My MIL called this morning almost hysterical with grief... their little dog Sammy (a Yorkie) was killed this morning. Sammy was given to them 3 1/2 years ago.. right after their grand daughter Rayanna commited suicide. They loved that little dog and took him everywhere with them... every morning my FIL would take Sammy down to the local coffee shop and then a couple other regular stops to visit with people and go back home (they live in the mountains near a VERY small little town) This morning a strange dog came onto their property and my FIL felt sorry for it and gave it some food,, Sammy was standing near and the dog turned around and snapped Sammy and instantly broke his neck killing him. :-( at least the poor little guy didnt suffer... but I am very worried about my inlaws,, especially my FIL as he has a multitude of health problems and he is taking this really hard and blaming himself as he was feeding the strange dog.... To make it worse,,, tomorrow is his Birthday (86) and though we are going over to see him,,, I am sure he wont feel much like celebrating. Tomorrow is also my Mom's BD (#98) and we will be going to visit her along with my sister and a few friends in the afternoon. Prayers will be much appreciated. Francie | ||

Francie, I haven't been online much due to the move and haven't made it to the prayer section. I pray that your family members will have peace in all of the recent events. Although I have never had a pet-other than fish and for a summer I gerbil sat, it's clear to me that when people lose beloved pets it is because there is a real attachment and thus a real loss. Travel mercies request: Seekinglight and her husband are traveling west to their new home and her new job. They spent the night in Butte, MT so should be here late tonight. Their pet (bird I believe) doesn't understand why in her cage so long. Anyway, my request is that the trip will continue without problems and their arrival in the Puget Sound will be a pleasant one. Well, it is raining right now so it stands to be a "proper one". The moving van will be coming in a week or so later so life will be 'out of a suit case' for awhile. Oh, the plan is for us to get together Sunday and this time I will remember to take pictures to be posted on Facebook. This is both a praise and a request. Fearless Phil | ||
