Honestwitness, I so enjoy reading your blog and I am always amazed in life how we see people in person, or on the street or even electronically and have no idea of what "their story is" and what they may be going through. I am praying for you and your sons.

I had a very close relative go to prison and another spend some time in jail. It hurts and I can remember the agony of begging the Lord for mercy in one case in particular. I can't know the exact pain you are going through but I can relate on some level. I am convinced (insert Romans 38-39 here) that God will see all of you through this.

I don't want to assume anything here but I know if my children ever were up on charges one of the things I would be facing is embarrassment and blaming myself to some degree or another. While it may not bring comfort I would encourage you to keep in mind they are adults and make their own choices. From what I can tell you do live up to your FAF name and have tried your best. It's in His hands now and He has some wonderful hands to hold you up

Thanks to all of you who have prayed for me and my sons. Enoch, thanks for the words of encouragement. Yes, I do a lot of soul searching, trying to discover what I might have said or done or not said or not done that could have contributed to this mess. Everyone tells me it's not my fault. I sort of believe that. But still I feel driven to somehow make it better for my sons. It's not like it was when they were little boys and I could make their hurts go away with a little patience, affection, and a kiss on the owie. This is way beyond that. I feel so helpless to stop the oncoming disaster they are both facing.

Honestwitness, I continue to pray, and I pray God will sustain and comfort you and glorify Himself to your sons and through these ordeals.

Prayers are needed today for Thomas Payne who I will be talking to over the phone who read a copy of the latest Proclamation and felt a connection through my faith story.

I don't know much about Thomas, but I do know that God set this up, and it is He that needs to speak through me tonight.

Please pray for open hearts, and the Holy Spirit to reach out and affect change tonight.

Also pray that Thomas will come to Trinity as he plans to tomorrow so that we can talk in person, and he can have a Christ experience.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. I found out today that he found the copy of the magazine that I had left at Packinghouse last week. God's ways blow my mind.

An update:

Thomas came to Trinity and received a fantastic sermon. I sat at the very back with him as he felt very uncomfortable. The Devil was trying very very hard to get him to leave.

He stayed for the entire service and joined us at the Tinkers for lunch. Before we went inside I shared my testimony as the Lord led and answered his questions for 45 minutes.

The Lord heavily put it on my heart to share the Cross, our sermon also was based around the cross and how our greatest joy and witness is to bring Glory to God.

Inside I felt more at peace, I had been praying nearly the entire service, and he got some coffee and we sat together and I shared Salvation for another 45 odd minutes. My sandwich got mostly ignored.

When he had to leave Colleen called me over and said "What passages from the Bible should he read this week?"

I was floored...but the Holy Spirit bailed me out...bringing the following passages to mind.

John Chapter 3
Ephesians Chapter 1 and 2
Colossians Chapter 1

And then for the first time He smiled and nodded, and really gave me a handshake. He was the happiest I'd seen him all day.

I told him to pray and ask for the Holy Spirit to help him to understand the passages he's reading. And gave him my number so he could call me at any time with any questions.

It went really well, but the Devil won't stop until Thomas is beyond hope. Please keep praying, I need a whole army of warriors on their knees interceeding for Tom.

Until he is safely home.

Thanks,

Ross

Praying, Karetha.

I would ask for prayers for my ex-MIL. I helped lead her into adventism. She is in renal failure & refusing any more dialysis. I had the chance to give her the simple gospel over the phone and will be seeing her tomorrow, hopefully. She has had a hard life.
