I had a bad fall this morning trying to climb down off the roof. I was cleaning a vent and my ladder fell. I could not get anyone to hear me and the heat was getting up. I guess I kind of didn't think it through. So I decided to try to lay on my belly and slide off slowly. I ended up falling, hitting things on the way to the concrete patio below. The ER ran tests, patched me up and sent me home. (My son drove me)
Injured my head, neck, shoulder and hip.

I am worried, but prayerfully I hope that I will get by without additional problems. I fret.

I ask for prayer on two things. That I will get over this without complications and for help not to draw errant conclusions from getting hurt on Sabbath.
Simplicty says I had no business going up there without a helper, and I fell because I did a foolish thing.
But it happened on Sabbath while I was forcing myself to act against my fears. I was forming in my mind how I could visit a paticular church close to home this morning, then the accident.

This is the problem with Spiritual guesses.
I try to go in the direction I am lead and then bad things happen. I have poor defense against the unknown.

I got up this morning to find my cat tore up from a cat fight. I still have to get him to the vet Monday. His new outdoor day pen is part of what I hit on the way down.

I am Thankful to God that I could come home.

It was an accident,.............

Jim,
Praying for your recovery.
You are right. It was an accident. Nothing more, nothing less. If you had climbed up there yesterday or waited till Sunday, Monday...makes no difference. Accidents happen every day of the week. :-)

Jim, I'm praying.

A question. Have you ever have an accident or something bad happened to you in a day that was not Saturday? If you did, for breaking what commandment were you being punished?

Accidents happen any day. Even on Saturday in church.

Jim, praying for you. It did not happen b/c you were doing it on Saturday. It was an accident. It could have happened any day of the week.

Thank You for your prayers.

I try to learn from my mistakes. It was a preventable accident.

Jim, praying. Praise God you were able to go home without major damage. How are you feeling tonight?

It was an accident, for sure. It was not punishment...God kept you from being more seriously hurt. He wants you to know you can trust Him completely, even when you have an accident with "hindsight regret".

Praying, Jim.

Praying for you, Jim...and your cat!! :-) I thank God you were not seriously injured...and remember, He is Strength for the weak (us!) and a Defender of the defenseless (us, again)...we sheep need our Shepherd!

Praying for all the other prayer requests, too.

My ex-MIL passed away peacefully last Monday. My oldest son & I got to see her and had two nice visits while she was still alert.

This is both a concern and a praise.

My wife has been sick for the past couple weeks with a bad case of apparent flu. About a week and a half ago she fell and had to be transport to emergency. Came home the same night but has been weak. Then, Friday she became dizzy while we were watching a movie and scared my when she lost consciousness. The EMTs transported her back to the hospital and she is still there. After two day of testing they still don’t know why this is happening.

Two neat things have happened in the mean time.

Our daughter, who we have been feuding with, came to Jan’s side and the family issues have been greatly resolved.

Then yesterday, a family visiting the patient in the bed next to Jan included an old friend and fellow instructor who I hadn’t seen in over twenty plus years. I am much changed but he recognized my voice. The joy for me was back in those days he was SDA but is now in a gospel centered church. He was visiting his mother-in-law who is a great encouragement to my wife, in the next bed.

PS
It is just me and Hooch here at the house right now. To empty without Jan. Please pray that God’s best be in all of this.

I'm praying for you Jim and Phil.

Jim; think of it this way. If you had gotten hurt while working on Wednesday, that wouldn't prove that there is no god and if you had gotten hurt on Friday, that wouldn't prove the Muslim god true.
