My family needs prayer. I didn't know where to go for prayer, so I came here. We've been supporting my 18-year-old cousin and her two children for a year now. Long story short, this cousin moved out in a huff today, taking the children with her. She has chosen her own selfish wants over the needs of her children. We've literally done everything for this kid. I'm worried because she has nowhere to stay until she's approved for government housing next month and, when she is, she'll be living with her alcoholic, druggie mother who abandoned her when she was a child. This woman almost burned down the place she's staying at while babysitting her other grandchildren because she was passed out on the couch, drunk, and left the food cooking on the stove.

I am worried about the children; I've grown attached to them and don't want to see them hurt. She won't be bringing them around anymore.

So yeah. We really need some prayer over here, if any of you are willing to oblige. My parents are crushed. The kids are like grandchildren to them.

Rain, I'm praying now as well. I pray that God will protect those children and glorify Himself in this. I pray that He will hold your heart and your parents' hearts as well and reveal Himself as Lord over even this uncontrollable darkness.

Thank you for asking for prayer.

Rain, I am praying for you too.
Father God, you know what is going on with this family. I ask that you protect the innocent children and work everything out to your Glory. Take care and Rain and the rest of the family as they go through this experience. You love each one. In Jesus awesome name I ask this. Amen.
You came to the right place to ask for prayer.

Brothers & Sisters, I would ask y'all again, to pray for my parents tonight. I called my father this evening and as we were talking, I heard my mother hysterically screaming at my father. My father hung up and called me back later.

Apparently my parents were discussing Scripture and what the Bibles teaches vs. Adventist doctrines. He said they basically spent the whole afternoon doing this. This has become a divisive issue in their home; my mother became tired so she went upstairs to rest.

What I had heard over the phone was apparently my mother had woken up because she heard a voice and she came downstairs screaming at my dad. She heard the voice tell her, "This man will destroy your family." I believe it was referring to my dad.

My father is now a Believer, after studying and reading the Bible sans EGW and other Adventist crutches. He no longer subscribes to the teachings of the Adventist Church. My mother is still very much in the darkness and along with my SDA relatives believes Satan is using my dad.

I instructed my father to go upstairs and pray with my mom and call on the Holy Spirit for protection and wisdom--I believe they are under attack. Kathe, my wife and I also kneeled and prayed here in our house as well. I believe Satan knows he stands to lose yet another to Lord. Please lift them up in your prayers tonight.

I have also encouraged my Dad to visit y'all at Trinity as he lives in Redlands off Colton & Dearborne. He will need the spiritual strength and encouragement of fellow Christians.

Thank you all again for you love, prayers and support. All to His Glory!!

Dear Wiredog,

I am so sorry to hear about your parent's distress. I wondered how things were going with your Dad. I'm glad to hear he has accepted the truth about Adventism and is now a true Believer. Praise God! My husband and I will pray you and your parents. Be of good courage. Put on the full armour of God. We fight not against flesh and blood but powers and principalities - of this I am sure, especially when leaving Adventism. Peace, Kelleigh

Praying for your parents Wiredog.

It seems obvious to me satan is in real fear of God's mighty work going on in and around Redlands so I'm praying about that also. Since I have SDA cousins in the area (one in Redlands) it gets personal and I am praying for them also.

Praying, Wiredog.

I'm sure it's not the same home, but I spent my early childhood in a home on the corner of Dearborn and Colton. I experienced a lot of emotional abuse from my Adventist step-mom there. I never felt safe in that house and experienced some very strange unnatural things while there. I have always attributed it to childhood anxiety and likely that’s all it was. Anyway, this was also the house in which God told me as a child that I belonged to Him. No amount of evil presence can shut out the power of the LORD. The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it. I am praying that your mom meet the *real* LORD JESUS and learn to know HIS voice.

I sent a picture of the house to your FB inbox. I'm just curious.

Praying for your family. Please, keep us posted!

I'm praying too, Wiredog.

It sounds as though your parents are going through some real strong spiritual warfare! I read a story about a husband and wife who were learning that the Mormon religion they were in, was wrong. The husband, at least. At one point, the wife (I think she was startled out of sleep during the night), exclaimed, "there's a snake on the ceiling!" Your mother must have heard a lying spirit. I'm praying that she realizes that.

Thank you all for your prayers. I spoke with my Dad again today just to see how they were doing and to let him know there are people praying for them.

He said things were more peaceful tonight and they were able to break some of the tension by going out for dinner. I very much appreciate everyones prayers and know they do as well. I think he understands that it is not a battle of flesh and blood but a spiritual one.

It is quite telling to me how important prayer is in the life of a Christian both (to pray personally and to be prayed for). I know God has this all figured out already, my parents will realize that God will be the one to see them thru it.

All I can say is, "My what darkness we were entombed in compared to the freedom that is ours in Christ!" This is why we long to let others know the Gospel!

Praying also, Ben. I understand the spiritual battle...I am so sorry. God is sovereign; He knows how to reach them and rescue them. I'm so glad your dad is believing. I'll keep praying he will come to FAF/church...and your mom, too.

I would like to ask everyone to pray for me. I have been unemployed for many years and as I continue looking for work, the despair and frustration is often unbearable. A year ago I was going to kill myself on Jan 1. I almost did it the mid 80s, it's been tiring to live with the pain of being an underachiever and the consequences of poor decisions.

Praying for you Kiki that you will receive a revelation of God's love for you and that you will see your true value and worth. I am praying for God to release His favor over you and into your life. May His favor work on your behalf in opening doors of opportunity for you to walk thru. May He supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
