Dear Kiki, long term unemployment is really tough. It sounds like you have been battling this distressing situation for a long time and it has worn you down. Despite this, you’ve hung in for another year. This cannot have been easy. Although part of you wants to die, another part, small and tired, wants to live. You are an inspiration. I will pray for you. I will ask my prayer partner pray for you too. She is an older woman who has been through a lot of trauma in her life and will understand how to pray. Kiki, you really need to be supported through this time. Your resources are wearing down. You need others to help lift you up. This is nothing to feel ashamed about. You are not an underachiever. Under achievers don’t talk the way you do. You need people in your life who understand what you are going through. Many people do. It’s just finding them. You are not alone. If you haven’t already, please seek a support group including professional support. These people can understand. They can also help you locate resources that will be helpful. Kiki, although this period of your life feels overwhelming, remember it is not all of your life. Life is like a watermelon - the bad time you are going through is only a slice of that watermelon. This difficult time is merely 'in your life' – but it is not 'your whole life', just a slice. You can count on our prayers Kiki. You are in our thoughts. You are not alone.

Rain, even though I'm coming to this area late, I have been praying for you, your cousin and her children and family.

Wiredog, praying for your parents, too. I knew nothing, really, of spiritual battles as an SDA--they are tiring but fellow believers are lifting your family in prayer.

What a privilege we have to pray for each other!

Kiki--Jesus loves you so much. It will help you so much to get to a Christian support group, where the Lord can love you and nourish you through other believers. Don't give up, OK? I will pray for you to find a wonderful group at a local church--there are LOTS of support groups to help you.

I have a couple of prayer requests. A sister at my church has married a Seventh-day Adventist. He and I have met and are beginning to form a friendship. In our first serious conversation he said that he is an SDA, still wants to be obedient but is struggling. I have purchased Sabbath in Christ for him and will be giving it to him shortly but in the meantime have given him some other materials. He needs prayer and also need prayer in dealing with him in the manner God would have me do so

My other prayer request is in regard to my job which is teetering on the edge right now. There are some possible ways that I can save it but it requires a huge amount of work in order to get the money from our funding source. My prayer is to save this job or find a new job in quick order to meet my financial obligations. I really appreciate your prayers they have been so helpful before and will be relying on them again. Thanks

Enoch

Me, too, Enoch...praying now. God WILL take care of you. Also asking Him to soften this man's heart, so that he is ready to receive truth when he hears/studies it.

Please pray that God would keep me faithful. Faithful in my witness, and faithful in my trusting Jesus. I am beginning to feel anxiety about the rest of December.

Also, please pray about my time with my sister and her family who will be coming to stay with us next Sunday for several days. She is blunt, and can be mean natured in her comments. She is hostile and yet somehow very sensative. She used to call me her best friend. Since we left, we are almost strangers. It is so sad...

Praying for you, Free. It's a hard month, sometimes, with the family connections and all that they bring. I will ask God for an extra measure of His peace and grace for you in all you have to do and for your interactions with your sister.

Put on "He's Alive!" and let yourself dance to it!!! :-)

I got anxious over some little thing today, and tonight when I read a devotional by Spurgeon, it reminded me again of our Peace. "Peace and rest are the special possession of the Lord's people." He wrote about Noah and his family secure in the ark, which foreshadowed Jesus, the ark of our salvation. About the cloud in the hot desert that sheltered the people and protected them from the blazing sun. "At this hour we rest in the promises of our faithful God, knowing that His words are truth and power. We rest in the doctrines of His Word, which are true comfort. We rest in the covenant of His grace, which is a haven of delight."

Free, I'm praying, too. Nowisee, I understand...and thanks for the Spurgeon quote. (And your curry was absolutely delicious today...!)
