Thank you all. Richard is better but still in bed. He has some virulent (at least virulent in him) virus that has given him a bad upper respiratory infection. Saturday night he just got sicker and sicker, and about 2:00 AM his temp was 102.8. The doc said there was no sign of bacterial infection and did a chest X-ray just to be sure his lungs were clear. So he's been in bed most of the time since; his temp is gradually declining. He hasn't been this sick in a long time.

Thank you, Phil, for posting the need for prayer, and thank you all for praying. We have needed it, and God is faithful!

I just want to ask that you continue to pray for Richard. He can't shake his fever; it's lower, but he's still in bed with a persistent fluctuating fever and cough, and of course...his back flares up at the site of an old ruptured disk when he has a fever/virus. So...it's frustrating and limiting; he can't be up doing his work. So thank you for praying. Thank you for being family in Jesus.

Thank you all. I have to praise God for His restoring Richard in a remarkable way. Just a brief synopsis:

A week ago last Saturday he went to urgent care after spiking a 102.8 fever (after coughing for a week). The doc sent him home and said it was a virus; the fever was "fighting the virus". I knew R was likely getting a secondary infection, but the doc said No.

Last week Richard was sick in bed with a fever and worsening cough. So Saturday it was back to Urgent Care. This time an alert physician's assistant was on duty. He took one look at him, assessed how ill he was, and said he definitely had a sinus infection, bronchitis, and was nearly in pneumonia. He gave him an antibiotic shot, a breathing treatment with albuterol and steroids, and sent him home with Rx's for augmentin, an inhaler, and a six-day course of prednisone.

Richard is dramatically recovered. He's up and back at work, no fever, and a waning cough that's not nearly so deep and wheezy. It's disconcerting to realize that this would likely have been prevented if that first doc had just given him an Rx for an antibiotic...but I'm praising God for Richard's recovery and for your prayers.

I'm thankful to and for you all.

Colleen~

Praising GOD along with You and Richard for His answer to prayers~

Yes, we do have to advocate for ourselves when we see a doctor!
Or have a trusted family member or friend do it for us, if we are too ill
to do it.

I am here today because my daughters would Not take "NO" for an answer!

I am requesting prayer because I just got *beat up* debating my deeply devout SDA Daughter-in-law (DIL) on FB. (My husband is a former SDA, I am a never been) My DIL and another - very well versed in SDA theology - person by the name of David Hood, took me on. Their focus was obedience to the law and how anyone who goes to church on Sunday is a lawbreaker and disobedient, etc. My DIL is even more determined to clarify to the world SDA doctrines ie *Investigative Judgment* and *Saturday Sabbath Keeping* I just need prayer to recover from that spiritual battle. Thank you.

Praying.

Worshiping our Savior on Sunday isn't about resting on the Sabbath. Hebrew Mosaic law was about where you could worship, not about when to worship so there isn't any law to break. If any of my SDA family would dare confront me the way yours did you they would the one who would go away feeling 'beat up'.

Anyway, my prayer for you is that you are resting in the quiet love and grace of our Savior.

Grace; I'm praying for you. It's frustrating that Adventists don't understand that the Sabbath, in fact all the Sabbaths were shadows of Jesus! (Colossians 2:16-17) They don't understand that the Sabbath was only for the covenant given at Sinai. (If you want more verses to show them, please ask.)

Neither do they understand that Jesus said: "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life." John 5:24
They're ignoring the plain word of God because Ellen White contradicts it!

praying Grace1958- for refreshing and rest after your battle - warfare is warfare and it is a series of battles with rest in between - thank you Holy Spirit for giving you the courage to respond to the call - we don't always get to choose the timing we respond when the call comes - you may have planted many seeds of truth while the bombs were going off ! Now rest in the arms of your "Abba Father" ....

Just want to say thankyou for words of encouragement, prayers & scritpure references to my post #87 above. This forum, and especially Colleen's patient one-on-one input with me several years ago, has really strengthened and blessed the spiritual journey my husband and I are on. My husband, a former SDA, now Born Again Believer of 20+ yrs, and I, a Born Again Believer of 30+ yrs are so grateful for you all. Our hope and prayer is that his devout son & wife & grandkids will one day be set free from the strongholds of SDAism.

I have both a praise and prayer request. Night before last my wife came into bed with me early in the morning crying and shivering (she said). By 6:00 AM I realized something was dreadfully wrong and took most of her vitals which were way out of line and called 911. The para-medics determined she had a 105° temperature and transported her to the local hospital emergency where they got her fever under control but then her blood pressure dropped to a dangerous low level which they couldn’t stabilize so she was moved to a ICU ward. As of this afternoon her BP still isn’t stable and she has several infections which seem to be the cause of all this.

The praise is that the ICU ward nurse said people don’t normally survive a 105° fever but that is under control. I counted something like five or six drip bags on her IV pole so the battle rages on.
