Morning all....:-))I thought this from John Newton should go here on this answered prayer thread...

"Thou art coming to a KING!
Large petitions with thee bring.
For HIS GRACE and POWER are such,
None can ever ask too much."

And I think He always gives us what will be the BEST for us, even when not apparent to us presently. He gives us our daily bread...even HIMSELF, the "Bread of Life"...

Grace always,
Cindy

Thanking all of you who prayed for my
daughter's relationship with me. She's
decided -- against unbelievable opposition --
to come down and visit me again!

I don't think your prayers changed God's mind.
I think that God foreknew who would pray and
who wouldn't and predestined you to pray.

Blessings to all of you,

Max of the Cross

Well folks, it's been 12 weeks since Jon's got to his church now. He's blown off doing sound system at the church, and last week he went with me to a Sat. night service, and tomorrow he plans to go with me to Calvary Baptist....something is a changing in his heart definitely. And on top of that I was looking into a jewelry business and he was positive about it and praying over the opportunity with me. You know that is radical for an SDA....God's timing. Thank you for your continued prayers.

The Lord is doing a wonderful work amongst SDA's in our area. Thank you, Lord.

My precious mom, who lives up in Kentucky, has glaucoma, along with many other health problems. Back about 4 months ago, her eye doctor noticed that she had bleeding in one eye (from the glaucoma) and told her she would have to have laser surgery. He had noticed it during one of her checkups after cataract surgery, so the surgery had to be delayed until she recovered from that. She was concerned, as were we all. Her other health problems make any kind of surgery a problem. So, of course, we have been praying!

She went back to the doctor yesterday and he said that the bleeding has cleared up and the surgery is no longer needed. Praise God! We're praying now for the pressure to go down in both eyes.

Lydell, I live in Bowling Green, KY., and if it is near where your mom lives, I would be glad to help you/her out in any way...I will continue to pray for her too.
God bless,
Janet

How sweet you are to offer! Thanks. Actually my brother lives just a half mile from her, and she does have numerous friends nearby, and I believe her church is helpful in this. So she is covered there. But what a sweet thing to have you offer. It's just hard to live so far away from family emotionally when stuff comes up, ya know.

She's near Ft. Knox, by the way. So are you a native? Maybe if I ever end up staying with her again for an extended period, we can get together. Any shorter visit and it is hard to get away. Isn't that ridiculous? But she gets into this thing of, if I go away for a couple of hours, it's killing her. She's not being manipulative, just gets klingy. sheesh But then, it is always hard to have enough time to get stuff done for her while we are on shorter visits anyway.

Hey Lydell, glad your mom has so much help! I know that means a lot, but I also understand how you must feel too. I live far from my mom and dad, and miss them terribly.
No, I am not a native of KY, just a transplant :-)
I grew up in Kettering Ohio.(My parents now live in Sarasota, Fl.)
Yes, if you ever come to visit your mom for a period of time, I would love to get together and share...Meanwhile, we will have to visit via computer, huh?! :-)
I am so excited about all I am learning in my studies, and here. I know I have said this before, but the Bible is like a brand new book to me. I appreciate reading everyones views and observations.
Have a great day,
God bless you all!
Janet

Lydell, keep us posted on your mom. How old is she?

We'll pray for her and also for you, that God will help you to know how to live with this distance with peace and also to be confident that you are doing what you need to do for her.

Thanks for your concern folks. Mom is 77. Dad died 2 years ago, so she lives alone. I have been really touched to see how her friends up there have ministered to her. The family of God is a precious thing!

She has had her ups and downs over these 2 years, but mainly I've just been so happy to see how well she has done. When she has been down, she comes out of it by counting the blessings she has had in her life, and then tells me she suddenly thinks, "wow, who am I to complain".

And the Lord has been so faithful in helping her out, even down to having my dad's uncle give her a (used) car when hers died. That was so awesome!

Recently satan has been playing a peculiar mind game with her. After prayer, that stopped.

She is just one of the sweetest, most precious saints in God's kingdom. And it's such a privilege to have her for my mom.

Right now we are believing that the Lord is in the process of working out an arrangement so that she will have a place to stay if she ever needs to live with us. If it does all work out, I will have SUCH a miracle story to tell you all. I guess I didn't realize just how truly it would be a miracle until today! There is no way in the natural that this will happen...absolutely none. So your prayers are welcome.

Thank you for prayers for first FAF meeting. Praise God it is actually a reality now. All praise the Lord. We had a nice meeting with 6 of us, 5 with SDA background. We will meet again on the 4th Friday night of August. I am confident that God is going to grow this and look forward to seeing what His hand has prepared!! It's cool!

You know, I have to think that, far to often, when we pray for our family's safety it is pretty much a passing thought. Maybe we don't really want to think that something can happen to them.

Yesterday, on his way home from work, our 22 year old son, Dan, hit a wet spot on the road and his car hydroplaned. He ended up in the median. We were extremely blessed. After we got the car towed home and he and David worked on it, they got it going again, and he was able to drive home. Total of $190 for the tow.

Thing is, from the looks of where he went off the road, he could have very easily flipped. The car could have continued to slide on another 10 feet and ended up in coming traffic. At the point where it stopped, it was only another 15 feet and he would have been back in the path of the traffic in the lane he had been traveling. God was very good.

Dan was to leave in a couple of hours for the airport to help pick up our church youth who are returning from a mission trip, we were able to find another driver on that short notice to take his place.

My hubby had his flight physical yesterday and learned that his triglycerides are back up in the dangerous level again. Thing is, the Lord has placed in our lives during the past year a new friend. She is the head nurse for one of the best heart doctors in the area. When she heard the name of the doctor David was to be sent to, she got upset, insisting that he is awful and is taking this on as her personal project to get David an appointment with her doctor. So we're thanking the Lord again.

As I said in the prayer request, our son who is sick lives a 5 hour drive away. This bothers us! But I was reminded yesterday that one of the good friends the Lord has placed in Geoff's life up there is a pharmacist. That gives us great comfort.

Well, maybe no one is interested in all this. It's just that when stuff starts closing in, it's time to look around you and start counting the ways that are proof that the Lord is already working on the solution to the problems, ya know?

Lydell, thank you for sharing those details. God really is in them. In fact, sometimes he's even in the apparently dreadful things as wellóat least, he certainly redeems them and brings great things from them.

Thank you for reminding us to give thanks in all things. If we serve a sovereign God, then our thanks and trust has no reason to fluctuate with our circumstances.

Thank you, Lydellóand my prayers continue for you and your family.

Lydell,

I never tire of hearing how the Lord works in people's lives. I am just so joyful when someone stops recognize His hand.

We were blessed last week, my 10 year old daughter has been wanting a basketball goal at out house, but they are about $100. We really did not feel we could spend the money right now. Our neighbour down the block moved and left theirs behind, they had not sold the house. I called and he said we could have it for free, we had given their little girl a bike last summer that my girls had outgrown.

I tell you its the little things that God does for us that makes it all worth while. In fact my daughter just came in and is asking me to go out and play b-ball with her right now.
