Just to prove your point...I posted Dennis' post on another forum...here is what the SDA/Gregg replied:

I would have to assume that you were praying for these dear souls. The part of this that saddens me is that you express concern for these souls but you have no concern for the persecution of God's remnant church. In I Kings God raised up Elijah to confront the commandment rejection of the people. They accused him of being the problem. So in this day God has raised up the SDA church to confront the same problem. You have chosen to reject the message and at the same time express concern for God's people all over the world while the church in front of you receives persecution and rejection. Don't you see a problem in this?

Please, keep three of my four children in your prayers. They have been evacuated and placed in a Red Cross shelter because of the coming thyphoon. One still lives with me in California but he's out in the jungle visiting his brothers. Those are the same two that only three months ago lost everything they owned due to the hurricane. I'm thinking about suggesting that they relocate to a less suvere area to live. They are fine but they are in a Red Cross shelter and I frankly am thankful that I left their place when I did, which was only four days ago.

Well Terry, praise God for them finding a diagnosis. Will keep praying for him...especially that he will be willing to eat right and that his strength will build back up. He's bound not to feel right after a big loss of blood.

Last Friday and Saturday, I went to a national, denominational pastors' meeting at the other end of the country - of course, that is only a four and a half hour drive here :-)

I was talking to the editor of the national denominational magazine, and he asked me if I had any articles they could publish. I mentioned a few things I had written on, and he showed interest in Adventism. Of course, what I have written amounts to about 70 pages, and he only wants two or three!

So I now have to condense the essence of Adventism into two or three pages! I am grateful to God for the opportunity, but I do ask for prayer, and also a few suggestions would not go amiss.

The other thing, the place where the two Adventist ladies I met at the conference live, (Piroska and Anna, who I have mentioned before), as well as a Baptist couple who were also there (Csaba and Erika), was on the way back, so I dropped in to see them too.

Apparently, they are still all meeting together for prayer on Sunday afternoons, and others from both churches are also showing interest. Anna has been telling everyone at the SDA church how great the conference was, and saying things like, "We may well keep the Sabbath, but we are not saved!" They also all want to keep more in touch with us, and several of us from here are invited to go and visit any time.

Erika said that Anna still considers herself an Adventist (she told me that too), but she "goes on about the Sabbath" less than she used to! Piroska seems much more open to interdenominational stuff, i.e fellowship.

So I would just say thanks to any of you who prayed before, because it is having an effect!

God bless,
Adrian

Praise God for the good news, Adrian!

I'll pray for your article. I think you have a good grasp on the essence of Adventism, and the Holy Spirit will help you to emphasize the things that need to be said.

From my perspective there are a cluster of related issues that make Adventism dangerous:a false prophet; a completely unbibilical central doctrine--the investigative judgment--which describes salvation as not being complete at Calvary; amalgamating the old covenant with the new; the nature of man and Jesus (no eternal spirit and therefore a skewed view of sin and of the new birth as well as questioning whether or not Jesus "inherited" Mary's sin); and, of course, their idolatry of the Sabbath.

God will direct you, Adrian.

Hello everyone:
I am here to ask for prayers. I know I don't post but I come to the website everyday and look forward to reading the ongoing discussion.
I am having surgery Thrusday morning (this is my 9th or 10th due to Crohn's disease) The Lord has always been with me but I guess as I get older I get more apprehensive about the anesthesia, pain, etc.
I greatly appreciate your prayers.

Jeannette, I pray that God's presence will be with you a very real and specail way during this time. I pray that you will experience peace and assurance that is beyond understanding even in the face of hardship. I pray that this surgery will be succesful and that the healing hand of the Lord will be upon you. I ask these things in the Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Jeanette, Those who have not had repeated surgeries, (and I mean a lot, as you describe) really can't appreciate how facing another one can be. As you get prepared, hold tight to Jesus' hand. Get a clear picture of His face and never let your mind be taken from that beautiful smile. You will find that He will be with you down the hall, onto the table, and while you slip gently under, you will feel the squeeze of His hand in yours.

He has promised you He will not leave you. He will never forsake you. He's there to comfort you and strengthen you. Your pain will be His pain. Remember His words. "Don't let yourself be troubled and never be afraid".

It always works for me, and I know He will be there for you too!

He loves you.

So do I.

You are always in His grip!
