I need to plead for prayers this weekend. A couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to present the Gospel to a cooworker. For those of you who don't know, I work at Andrews University... located in the SDA Mecca of Berrien Springs, MI. I have now been asked to meet with her family, and friends, along with one of the pastors from PMC to discuss our differing views on the Sabbath primarily. From what I gather, these people have never questioned the church before, and are mostly curious. But the pastor has been working on a document addressing "Cultic Doctrine" and has been part of some meetings in the denomination with how to deal with all the people asking questions or leaving lately.

Ironically, I just found out the time of the event. And it will be a 4pm Saturday here Eastern Time. I felt this warmth when I found that out because that is our FAF time for prayer for the church. That will be precisely 1 pm West Coast time...when most of you pray.

Would you remember us as we get together, that God will send the Holy Spirit to be with us in a very strong way. Some of these people may be very defensive and therefore angry with the whole topic and unwilling to question. But I have had several people help me out with input on the paper...and God has impressed several new (to me) text in my mind, so I know He will not fail me.

So I ask you to pray that those who are seeking Him will find Him, and that He will speak through me...though i feel so meager in my abilities to present Him.

Esther, I will pray. I think we've talked before about whether or not you know B's relatives up there ... he is one of the pastor's at the large church up there (is that PMC)? Anyway, I had given B Cultic Doctrine and was curious if it was his uncle you are meeting with... I know B asks his advice periodically.

Either way, I will pray. It seems a very personal connection to my son's family however indirect it may be.

Thomas, I will pray for your Joes as well.

Esther, I will be praying for you. And Thomas, I'll pray for both Joes. Praise God for your great trust and for the fact that you found Jesus to be more than enough.

Esther,
Like Esther in the Bible, God will be with you as you speak of Him and for Him. He will guide your thoughts and words. You are in my prayers. I am so glad you will be having this meeting at 1 PM PT time. Every former SDA who is praying will be praying for you. God bless you and keep you. He is awesome.

Well, though I don't think we made much headway, the Lord provided courage, and His peace! The meeting went calmly at least, and my job isn't in danger yet. And who knows, maybe we were just to plant seeds so that down the road, God can bring them to germination :-)

Thank you all for your prayers! Stephen and I really found comfort in that.

Thomas, I am praying also for your two Joe's. May the Lord draw especially close to them both!

Esther, planting seeds is a huge part of what God's asks us to do, I'm convinced. Praise Him for giving you courage and peace! Those were two things I (and I'm sure many of us!) were praying for you.

Praise God Esther. You planted the seeds as God asked you to do. He will take care of the harvest. Like Queen Esther you stepped out in faith. God will do the rest. He is awesome.

I am asking for prayers for a sister I will call GAL. She is 3 years older than me and does not know Jesus and that He is all she needs. Recently she spent 5 hours in the ER due to pains in her chest. She did not tell me why she had the pains. We were all raised SDA and even though she has not practiced Adventism for many years, it still has a hold on her. I do not want anything to happen to her until she has accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and knows that all she needs is Jesus. I know I can count on all of your for your prayers. Thank you so very much.
God is awesome in all things He does.

I'm praying for GAL now, Diana. You're right about the SDA hold on people unless they directly address it and allow Jesus to fill that place in their hearts.

I have another prayer request. My Daughter In Law has a younger brother who lives in SC and is going to college there. He was recently in an motorcycle accident and at this time is in ICU at the hospital. From what she told me he has a bad brain injury. He will need 6 months to a year rehab. She asked that I ask God that the brain injury be healed. Please pray with me for this young man.
I know God will care for him because He knows what is best for this young man. God is the Great Physician and He is awesome.

I am pleading for your prayers, I cannot go in details here but I need God to be with me> I have to go and talk to my son. I need God's guidance in what to say I need God's wisdom. My son and his buisness partner need God to enter their hearts. My heart is pounding so hard and I am scared. I really need God to solve this situation.
Please pray for all of us.

OK, forum. Iíve a confession to make here. The Holy Spirit has used Diana to bring me under conviction that I need to make a list of all these prayer requests. Itís easy to pray when things are posted, but I havenít always done as good of job as I should about continuing in persevering prayer. So from this point on, Iím committing to writing down everyoneís request.

Iíve got a book and Iím putting a date by the request. I would love to hear about updates on how prayer is impacting lives.

Praise GodÖ

This prayer request is for Pastor Mark Martin. He is experiencing kidney pain again. About 10 years ago he had kidney stones. He has ministered to many of us, now let's lift him up in prayer, and pray for the Lord to give him comfort and peace and joy in this suffering, and to heal him, and to use this suffering for His glory.
