Mary,
God is so good. He protected you and kept others from being hurt by letting it happen before you got on the highway.
He is awesome.

I asked all of you to pray because the hospital where I did prn work owed me a large amount of money. Today it was all taken care of. There had been a big mixup about the hours I worked and how much I was paid, but I will be getting the amount owed to me in my next pay check from the hospital.
I thank all of you for your prayers.
Thank you God. You are AWESOME.

Just to thank you all for praying about my visit to DÈnes, in Budapest.
I went to see him today on my way back from teaching college.

I got some more up-to-date, or perhaps more accurate info on Adventism in Hungary, in case it is of interest: there are 6000 Adventists in Hungary (population 10 million), 4500 are SDA and 1500 are Christian Advent Fellowship - so one quarter are in this break-away traditional group. The split occurred in about 1975, and the main reason was the ones who became CAF did not agree with the church making compromises with the then communist government. The Adventist influence is greater than the numbers though, as CAF run this popular correspondence college course, as I have mentioned.

He seemed a nice guy, he seems to have been hurt and rejected by both groups (church politics rules, as usual), he is keen to do mission work, but does not have any opportunities.

I decided to take the approach of explaining why Evangelical Christians would "have reservations" about working with Adventists, because of our different understanding of what the gospel is. I said I simply wanted to explain our viewpoint on certain issues, so he could understand why this was the case - that sounded less aggressive, not like - I am attacking your faith.

So I went through the features of cults, and then covered things like, the "commandments" in Rev and 1 John not being the 10 C. because of the different words. We covered the covenants briefly, and I stressed very firmly that I am not a Sunday keeper, but I believe the "third theory" that the Sabbath was a type of rest in Christ. I then said this meant for me that the Sabbath cannot be the seal and Sunday the mark of the beast, because there are three theories not just two, and most Christians believe the third and would not dream of persecuting Sabbath-keepers - this idea seemed to leave him pretty speechless.

He said I had presented him with quite a few things which he had never heard before, and he would have to look into them.

I do think it is likely that the vast majority of Adventists in this country have never really been presented with the objections to Adventism, because the material is just not available in their language. DÈnes did say he speaks English, though I don't know how well, so if we continue this, I could point him to some sites, or give him English material.

Anyway, that is it, sorry it was long, thanks for praying,
Adrian

Adrian, thank you for following up with us. Praise God for giving you the right words and for causing Denes to ask some new questions.

Let us know if you continue to dialog with him!

An update on my daughter in law's brother. He does not have any spinal cord injury and it appears there is no serious brain injury. All cognitive functions appear normal. He hurts all over, probably from soft tissue injury. He wants to return to college. Please continue to pray for him. I thank you and my DIL thanks you.
God is so awesome.

This is not really an answer to prayer, but I do not know where to put it. It is a BIG thank you to God. The head of rehab called me into her office as I was leaving today and told me that when I hired on there I was to get a bonus. I did not know about that. It was a big SURPRISE to me. So I will get half of the bonus before Christmas, 3 months later 1/4 and 3 months after that the other 1/4. So God had an unexpected suprise for me and I am so very thankful. I walked out of the building today with a huge smile on my face and I was saying, over and over, Thank you God. You are awesome.

Just want to sing and praise God and thank you all for your prayers. I wish I could hug all of you. We will be able to see our little granddaughter. I just can't wait to hug her and spoil her and tell her how much we love her. My son's ex-girl friend wanted my son to pay $100/week but the courts said $115/month. I am just so happy I'll see her soon.

A BIG, GRATEFUL THANK YOU GOD!!! Why, you ask? Well I told all of you about the hairline fracture I sustained in my right knee. A doctor at work told me that knee injuries take a long time to heal. Well, I went to see the orthopedist today and he told me, after looking at my ex-rays, that every thing looks good and I can take off my knee immobilizer. I can start gentle stretching, which I have stared. I can DRIVE to work again. So now you know why the BIG THANK YOU to God.
An update on my DIL's brother. He is home and has been for a while now and is getting along fine. No cognitive deficits that anyone can see.
I have been told that he was fooling around with illegal drugs, so continue to pray for him.
Thank God for all of you and all your prayers. He has healed my knee in 2, TWO, look at that, 2 weeks.
God is awesome.
Diana
