This is involved but such a good story about God! Been trying to wait until all of this unfolds fully to tell the story. But I just can't stand keeping quiet. This is sucy an awesome story! We are in the process of selling our house.

Now, first you have to understand that our house was NOT up for sale! We have had a man stopping by our place for 5 years or more offering to trade property with us. It never came to anything. After the last visit in October, we'd decided he was just full of it and put it all out of our minds. But here he was New Years Day with a VERY real and final offer. Amazing.

My hubby sat and talked with him for awhile and says he was just astounded. David just sat there and listened as the man talked himself into giving us the figure that we had agreed long ago would be our bottom line we would accept!

Now for you to comprehend this miracle you need to know that our house needs the roof to be replaced. AND we are in the middle of a MAJOR remodeling project involving 3 rooms. One of those rooms we have only put dry wall up on one wall. This place is 100 years old. There are numerous trip hazards everywhere in our house, and my elderly mother now lives with us so those hazards are a real problem. The man KNOWS about all the work that needs doing. It doesn't bother him at all.

There's more. See, the Lord actually started on all this way back in 1990 when a jerk came and bought 3 acres of land adjoining ours. He built chicken houses. Those are not conducive to safe ground water. There is sound pollution and stinch involved. We weren't happy. We prayed the Lord would take them away. We prayed often, so often, "Father you have said in your word that your plans are to prosper and not harm us. We ask that you use even this to prosper and not harm us."

They had huge problems building those places. Actually had to start over 3 times because a heavy wind would come along and blow down their work.

Now in 1995. Hurricane Opal brought a tornado that demolished one of those houses and heavily damaged the other so it was no longer useful. The guy who had recently bought the houses had just told us a couple weeks before that he had relized he had made a huge mistake buying them and would love to get out of the mistake.

So, along comes the man who is now buying our home. He bought that guys property and gave him a job. And now...he wants our place to go with that property.

Now really try to wrap your mind around all that: God has been working on this deal for like 15 years. We didn't have a clue. Didn't know what we would need or when it would be needed. Yet for 15 years the Lord has already been preparing the way.

You know I just keep thinking. For those 15 years we were just living out our lives oblivious to the whole thing. Guys, that's what the Lord is ALWAYS doing for us. Do you get it? Because we are His children, we are ALWAYS living in the miracle before the miracle. Isn't that amazing!

Lydell, that is amazing. God knows you need a safer, easier place for you mother as well. Sometimes when God gives us a glimpse of the big picture we can't really see when we're stuck in the passing days, it's enough to take one's breath away.

Lydell,
God is so good and knows exactly what we need before we need it and then brings it about. I AM SO GLAD FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. He is AWESOME.

My son arrived home safe and sound last night. He was very excited to be home and after all the hugs asked to watch "Nemo". He sat in the rocker with his brother, and would look up at him every now and then with a big grin on his face. I think he's happy to be home.

I'm so happy to hear that your boy is home safe and in the arms of his mama. And, with his big brother who loves him so much, too. Is he talking yet? Can he tell you about his week?

No, he's just a few weeks shy of his 2nd birthday. Jabbers, but not a lot of story telling at this point...

Thanks to you all. Though I do have moments of angst, generally I am at peace with the situation. I know God is protecting Jonathan, and usually look forward to what miracle he will provide me next. But there are those human times.... I do appreciate your support and encouragement.

Do you ever feel like all Hell breaks loose at once? I can't give many details, but I'm going to ask you to pray for Richard, that God will keep his heart at peace and protect him at work, that God will glorify Himself through Richard and that he will have a sense of God's presence keeping his heart at rest and giving him clarity and wisdom and efficiency.

It's a very rushed time for him--(this is an annual occurance at this time of year), but there's just been some really difficult and direct "assaults" lately (I use that warfare term intentionally; I know we are not fighting flesh and blood) in addition to his being sick and having to miss some work early this week. That's all I'll say about work, but I appreciate your just praying for God's will to be accomplished and for Richard to be calm and full of faith as well as faithful, and that God will glorify Himself.

I think one of the hardest jobs God asks some people to do (as He has made clear He is asking Richard to do) is to continue to work among entrenched Adventists while openly being a former.

Praise God for equipping us to do what He asks us to do and for giving us His continuous Sabbath presence even when we feel vulnerable.

Colleen

Father in Heaven, please supply Richard with all the energy, stamina, and power you know he needs. Give him the wisdom of Solomon in how he interacts with co-workers. Give him the mind of Christ in all that he does so that the name of Jesus is glorified above all. Let your name be glorified in all that Richard does, in his work, in his home, in his community. Stregnthen and protect him Lord. Cover him with Your armor, give him the spirit of a Christian warrior. Let no weapon of the enemy prevail against him. Let the presence of the Holy Spirit dwelling in him be so evident that all who interact with him, all who would assualt him, know that he is Yours and he is unassailable. I pray this in accordance with Your will as stated in Your Word, in the name of the Lord Jesus. Amen.

Colleen, I'm sitting here at school (lunch) and my prayers are for Richard now. I pray that God will hold him in His hands and protect him from the arrows of the enemy and give him peace as he rests in His presence.

Lord give him a discerning spirit that he might have clarity and wisdom in the decisions he is faced with. I pray that Your will might be worked in his life as he ministers to those around him at work. May the glory of your presence be seen in all he doses and the Sabbath peace be evident to ALL.

Richard

Colleen, I have Richard on my prayer list and you also.
Father, I come rushing into your presence for our brother and friend Richard. You know his situation at work. He is a former SDA working for an SDA organization. Send the Holy Spirit to him to show him what to say and do and how to behave as you want him to. Hold him in your awesome hands and keep him close to you. May others with whom he works see Jesus character in him. Thank you God for answering this prayer and the prayer of all the others. AMEN

As you all know by now, I have a son doing time in the state penetentury. He has been in there numerous times. Hopefully this will be the last time as he is due to get out soon. However, every time he has been in before he attended chapel and those sorts of functions mostly because it would get him our of his unit for awhile and break up the boredom. This time though I can see a real chage as he is attending chapel twiceper week BECAUSE OF THE BLESSINGS HE'S GETTING IN HIS HEART! And, I send him the little Lutheran daily decvotionals I pick up at the church. A the prison he gets the little devotionals Our daily Bread and he says he likes that one the most. His roomate is Lutheran so they have been doing the Lent devotionals together that Isent to him. I am very happpy about all of this. It seems as though Gods hand was involved in picking my son and his roommate to be roommates. The man is in his 50's and had never before been in trouble with the law. Looked at his retirement account one day, saw itwas pretty bleek and fell to temptation with an idea to pump up his savings. Got caught and now he's giving my son Bible studies and my son teaches him prison ediquit, if you know what Imean. Yes, sometimes even the best of us fall to temptation. That though does not imply that we are fallen from Gods grace. This is the main thing in the that I just find so unChristian in the SDA religion, its teaching about going in and out of grace. Someone over on Pastor O'Fills site likes to say we are saved from our sins, not in our sins. If I believed like that I would find no peace in my heart at all in being Chriatian. Anyway, you all please continue praying for and about this son of mine and I wanted to share the joy I have in my heart about his learning Christian peace. He says he just wants to go fishing when he gets out. That's wonderful. And, please keep his roomate in your praers, too. I do not remember the mans name. However, God knows who he is.

Susan,
I will continue to pray for your son and his cell mate.
Father in Heaven, You who are the Alpha and Omega, the I AM, and you are our Father. I thank you for this. Please send your Holy Spirit to fill the hearts of these two men who are seeking your truth while they are in prison. You can free them from evil while they are in prison and that is what I am asking you to do. Be with Susan and her boy in the military and her grandchildren in SDA schools and her Mother who is SDA. May they all learn, as Susan has, that Jesus is all we need. Thank you God for answering this prayer. You are awesome.

The Lord works in mysterious ways. As of 30 minutes ago I truly believe that. I have been babysitting my grandchildren today. The latest Proclamation! was in todays mail here at my sons house. I went out to the mailbox and brought in the mail. My d-i-l came home around 30 minutes ago. She tossed her purse and keys on the kitchen counter and then went through the mail. "This is trash" she'd say piece after piece and put the trash into the trash pile. The save mail went into a different pile of mail. She got to the Proclamation! and said, "Oooooh, Seven day Adventist stuff. Trash." and put it into the trash pile. I honestly had planned to say nothing about my sending my son Proclamation! however I sent a quick prayer that I would be given the right words and then I told my d-i-l that the Proclamation! is not SDA trash, it is good to read and it is a magazine exposing the truth about the SDA church. She looked at it breifly and said something about her little girl (first grade, SDA school) has now been telling her it is wrong to order bacon on her sandwich when they eat out and she told me other things my wonderful little granddaughter is coming home from school letting her mama know she is wrong to be doing. Truth is, I could never ask for a more wonderful mother for my grandchildren. So she looked through Proclamation! and set it aside with the save mail. Yes, truly the Lord works in mysterious ways as it has to be an act of God that Proclamation! came on one of the two weekends out of the month I come down to visit or it sure is a mighty coincsidence. I tend to believe it is the Hand of God interveining.
