I join in all these prayers and would like to extend Stanís request a bit. Letís pray for all of those ministering faithfully on other forums, too, such as CARM and Christianity.com to just name a couple. I do so believe that your thoughtful, well-reasoned, Biblical posts can point many to Jesus. I suspect many of those attending these forums have brushed up with Adventism with relatives becoming members or inadvertently attending a Revelation Seminar. Plus current members who find they canít openly question without condemnation can lurk and learn.

As mentioned on other threads, hemorrhaging continues as technology has not been kind to Adventism, and I would ask for blessings to continue upon all of you who are helping to educate.

Praise GodÖ

Praisegod, all these other websites you have mentioned are in my prayers. Thanks for reminding us of them.

Praise God, Amen to what you just said. How important this battle against the cults really is, and I appreciate so much your support. God bless you, Stan

Bob, that is great news, I just prayed for her!

Diana, Haven't you heard? The SDA's are wearring earrings now and have been wearing engagement rings for a while now. My mom even wears both! Shocker!

I remember when I was SDA I was working in a dental office and this little girl, maybe 7 or 8 was a patient and SDA, I always wore big jewelry after I got out of the house and I got my ears pierced when I finished high school. Well, this little girl asked me if I was SDA and I said yeah and she asked why I wore jewelry. I said because I didn't agree that there was anything in the bible that said it was wrong.

She said, oh. and I felt like a terrible witness, but then kinda like maybe I let her know that you can think for yourself.

What a scitzophrenic I was and bad speller I still am! LOL!!

I has been so long since I have been around SDA young people I find it strange to see them wearing engagement rings and earrings. That is why I mentioned it. Remember, I am from the older generation when the women did not wear even wedding bands.
Oh, as of Thursday evening my son is on his way home to the states. I do not know if he has landed yet. He is to call me sometime after he lands.

Raven,

I told C that basically you guys would give your testimony. I mentioned the other stuff in the email about being able to think like him and answer for his questions or beliefs IF our discussion proceeded that way. C is quiet, I actually don't expect many questions from him. And please, don't worry, just testify as to what the Lord has done for you spiritually and whatever is laid on your heart. I don't have expectations of you and I don't in any way want you to feel burdened or responsible. I told him that you guys are really nice with nice girls.
If you feel uncomfortable at all, please don't hesistate to put this meeting off until you feel the Lord is leading you. I totally trust God's timing and I don't want to "help" God out by getting in the way. Continue to pray and I will also. As the 16th gets close, I will let you know how I feel the Lord is leading re: meeting with the two of you.

Diana! So glad your son is on his way home! Your anticipation reminds me of the anticipation God has waiting for us to come home to Him!

Hello,
My father-in-law, the one who is historic SDA, is really bad off. He had some kidney stone problems and to make a long story short they messed up one of his kidneys and he lost about 40% of his blood, and he may be going into surgery tomorrow to have his kidney removed. Please pray for him and for his family.
Sadly,
Hannah

Hannah, I'm praying for him--that God will heal him if it's His will but above all that he will respond to the Holy Spirit's call. I'm praying for God to glorify Himself through this.

I'm so sorry, Hannah.

FAF'ers,

I have a special prayer request for you. My wife and I have been studying EGW and our church's various doctrines, for a few months, with myself being somewhat further along than my wife, mainly because of having more free time to devote to this undertaking. It's been pretty painful for her and I think that part of this is because of her parents. The Adventist roots run deep and she doesn't want them to be hurt. Amazingly enough though, it turns out that one of her parents has started questioning things on their own as we found out today. I believe this to be more than a coincidence and take this as a possible sign the Holy Spirit is really beginning to work on our family. I ask that you please pray for us and that the Holy Spirit will guide us into the truth He wants us to know. Thanks.

Heretic (somehow that name doesn't fit what we know of you!), I am praying for your family. Praise God for what He is doing.

Thank you, Colleen...for praying and for the compliment! I wish I could use my real name but it's too recognizable which could put my denominationally employed wife in a sticky situation. I'm praying that I'll be able to come out from behind the alias some day very soon!

Heretic,
I have added you, your wife and her family members to my prayer list. God is calling his sheep and they hear his voice and are coming to Him. He is awesome.

Another request for prayer. My brother in Montana has a friend whose name is Robert. Robert has a son in the military. His name is Jake. Robert heard on the news that the unit his son is in, in Afghanistan, came under fire and some were killed. The military has not released the names of those killed, so the father is worried about his son. We do not know if the son is alive or dead. My brother asked my prayers for the father and son and I told him I would get my Internet friends to offer prayers also. So that is what I am doing. Remember Jake in your prayers and his father, Robert.
Thanks for your prayers.

Heretic,
As I told you in our private email exchange this week, I am praying for you - and from what you have reported above, it looks like the Lord is actively working in your situation! I told you that I was sure He would smooth out the rough places in the path ahead of you and your family.

He deserves our endless praise!
Bob

Will you guys please pray for me some time during the next hour or so. It's about 11:30 eastern time, and I'm taking my beloved doberman to the vet to be put to sleep in about an hour.

He's getting old, and not feeling well, and has recently become very unpredictable. Has become very aggressive around children, and in the past months, close to a year, even with our own grown children. The past week he has actually turned on my husband a couple of times, the person he has always respected most. We made the decision last night to take him in today, and it's such a hard thing to do.

Please just pray for peace for us, especially my husband. It's so hard, but I know it's the right thing to do. I think it's harder on my husband. He keeps thinking we should wait just a little longer, whereas I think he's going to snap and hurt someone and want to take care of this before that happens.

Anyway, I'm rambling.....am not thinking real good through the tears and heartache.

Thanks for your love and prayers.

Praying for you Carol. We dealt with the exact same thing with a beloved dog when our children were young. It was hard, but we felt the total change of personality to aggression just meant she was in a lot of pain.

Praise God...

Carol, I'm praying for you, too. We had to have our 12-yr-old collie put to sleep in February. He was in increasing pain, it seemed, and finally quit eating. I agree with PraiseGod--the agression probably means pain.

It is so very painful to lose a pet. They are family. I still expect to see Smokey in certain places, then suddenly realize he's gone.

Praying for you and your husband, Carol.

Colleen
