Dearest Speakeasy, May God's healing hand of mercy be upon you. He is walking along this path with you and he is crying with you.
I was totally lost after leaving the SDA church 5 years ago. I did not even go to church for oh so long. I cried many times to God and felt like He wasn't listening. I know now that He was listening and loving me all the while. I started going to churches and sitting in the very last row and on the isle so that I could run out the door if I had to. I only went every so often and never got involved but during that time God was letting me hear just enough. Eventually I found a Christian church that preached the bible. I still did not go all the time but found myself going more frequently. I found some very loving Christian people that loved me just where I was and showed me glimpses of God's love.
I believe God is wispering in you ear at this very moment telling you just how much he loves you and that he wants you to be happy and He will bring you through that very dark tunnel you are going throug right now. I will be praying for you to find that peace. You have Christian friends here that can be of help to you and extend their love to.
God bless you and keep you till we meet,
Sharon
If you need to talk you can email me at rusaved@isp.com I am here for you.

Speakeasy, I will say one more thing. I had to go back to the very basics. John 3:16 says
FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVER LASTING LIFE.

Now I have to ask for prayers for my coworker, Laura. She was pregnant and did not know she was. She has lost the baby and is very depressed. Please pray for her that God will give her peace and understanding. I was thinking about changing jobs and had shared the information with her and she had said if you go then I go. I believe I am supposed to stay right where I am at and help this woman throught her tunnel she is going through right now. I gave up a big increase in salary but I fell that I need to be here.
God bless each and everyone of you here on this site.

Sharon, go to the bottom of this page. You'll see white words in the dark blue band. Click on "last day" to see a list of all the threads and individual posts put up over the past 24 hours.

Click on "last week" to find all posts during the past 7 days. If you want to search for a specific topic, click the word "search". You'll find a screen that asks for the information you want to look for. You can select key words, and you can ask it to search for all posts that contain your key words or all thread titles that contain those words. You can also select whether you want the search to include the entire forum and its archives or just posts within a certain time frame.

See if clicking on these "buttons" at the bottom of the page helps!

Speakeasy, my brother, you may be the closest to God at this very time than you have ever been in your life. The Psalmist stated that God loves those with a "Broken and a contrite heart". It is only when we are on the absolute bottom, with no where to look but up, that we get the real, true perspective of the cross. Hang on to Jesus like you've never ever hung on before. Forget the doctrines. Forget starting places or further knowledge. Only hang on to Jesus. He will take you home, and He promises to get you there before the dark.

Only Jesus

Speakeasy,
Stick close to Jesus and only look to him. As Thomas said above, He will take you home and He promises to get you there before the dark. He did not bring you this far to drop you or abandon you. I am remembering you in prayer.

Please pray for my Aunt (my mom's sister) and her family. My Uncle died this morning and it came as a shock to all of us. He died in his sleep so for him it was the best way to go. We will be having a memorial service in June when all his sons can come from all parts of the world. We live close so we can support her as she goes through this.

I emailed her and said that it will be such a great day when we can all be together in heaven, and isn't it great to have that assurance of salvation! They are SDA so I know that they don't really feel that assurance, but I wanted to open the door for conversation. She knows we left the SDA Church, so maybe she'll ask some questions.

Anyway, I would like prayer for them to find real peace at this time of loss. Thanks.

Please pray for me as I try to find steady work for next school year. I have been substitute teaching, as well as teaching piano lessons at home, this year, and I would really like to find some reliable work nearby. I applied for a couple of positions yesterday, and I'm waiting to hear back.

I need work for the obvious reasons of food, shelter, etc., but also to make the payments on the enormous student loans we had to take to finishe university. Sometimes it feels like we are going more backwards than forwards, no matter how much or how hard we work.

God has been proving Himself faithful in that there has always been exactly ENOUGH money to pay the bills. He is teaching me to trust Him, and it felt like I was finally getting the lesson, but this last week, I haven't felt so satisfied, or trusting. We would really like to pay back our debt as soon as possible, and I'm struggling to understand if/why that is wrong/not happening. Maybe I'm supposed to be satisfied with ENOUGH. I don't know. Please pray, I am really struggling with this.

Right there with ya Fishy,

I'm destitute and no one is helping me! It's just ridiculous! If the righteous aren't forsaken and the descendants aren't begging bread, then I must not be righteous is all I know.

Sharon, praying for your friend, and your aunt, Tisha.

I'm negative today, so I'll go for now.

Praying for you Fishy and Sharon, and Sabra too!

I could use prayer as well - for family issues as well as financial ones. Thanks!

Thank-you all so much for your prayers. The power of prayer, when believers pray for others is just amazing.

Our Bible Study group keeps a prayer list and we spend time together, and alone later, praying for those on our list. Every week we can report answers to so many of our prayers. It is really awe-inspiring.

Just about the first thing I liked about our Church, after checking out their doctrines, was that it is such a praying Church. We have an active prayer chain, and spend time in Church praying together and praising God for all the answered prayers from that week. The first time I visited, that is what impressed me the most.

God doesn't always answer in the way we expect, but over time we see that His way is the best. Just seeing all those answered prayers strengthens my faith that God's will is being done, no matter what the answer.

Praise God that He has given us this way to communicate with Him!

OK people, I am over it. Sorry for the negative junk, you're right, Carol, that isn't like me, I was about at the end of my rope, knowing that my church has 6000 members and I pay tithe--(no legalism lectures, I know, and I'm not consistent, so call it offering).

Anyways, guess I hadn't talked to the right person, last night they helped me really an incredible amount, much more than I expected.

SORRY!

Carol, I'm praying for your kidney stones too! That is terrible!

Helovesme2, I'm praying for you too!

BTW, I filed for divorce, did I say that? My soon-to-be-ex/Hudini got the out of jail free card yesterday and so far, since he has been almost 2 weeks off of pain pills, he is being very calm and normal, says he wont bug me, he understands, etc.
