Richard, It's great to hear from you. You have certainly been in my prayers, since we have had a very similar background there at Modesto Academy, and I did know your family there as well. Also to everyone else requesting prayer above, you are added to my prayer list. Stan

I am requesting prayer on behalf of Susan2 who called this afternoon and asked all of us to pray for her and one of her sons. They're facing a crisis, and she's quite concerned. I realize this is a bit vague, but we can pray for God to be present, glorify Himself, and accomplish His will and help truth to be known.

Praise God for being sovereign over everything!

I'd apprieciate your prayers for my mom, Rebecca. She was placed in intensive care last night after she began passing blood, that progressed to vomiting blood. They have found she had a very small tear in her esophogus (happened as a result of vomiting during the course of taking Colyte to prepare for colonoscopy today). she is on blood thinners.

Since last evening at 9 she has been given 4 units of blood. The doctor believes there will be no need for surgery to repair the tear. Bleeding seems to have stopped now. But, of course, she is quite weak from all the blood loss. She is 81.

It is a privilege to be asked to pray for your dear mother. I will include you, as well, as you care for her during her recovery.

I think the crisis is working out as it should. Fortunatelly my son still has his job, a job that he likes very much and he is good at it. The employeer was understanding and let him keep his job. Through a series of unfortunate coincindences we are looking at some very serious criminal charges, all of which we are innocent of. As I said, it has been a series of unfortunate coincindences that make the authorties suspect we might have something to do with a wrong that we are totally innocent of. So, please keep my son and me in your prayers. I am praying that the DA refuses to pick up the case or if it does get to the judge that the judge dismisses the case. We have court towards the end of June. Please ask Gods guidence of the DA and the other authorities in this matter. Please, also ask that my wonderful son doesn't worry so much. Poor kid, he's totallt frazzled over this. Thank-you very much.

Hey Friend, Susan,
You and your family are always in my prayers, but I will pray special for this.
Father in Heaven, You know the end from the beginning and you are the Eternal, Awesome God.
Please take care of this for Susan and her son. You know they are innocent, so clear the path for them to get out of this. You are and have always been in charge and I Thank you for this. Amen.

As some of you may remember, my MIL was diagnosed with lung cancer back in December. She had been SDA from age 18, but left in 1982 when we did. Sadly, over the next few years she totally rejected Christianity. Then about three weeks ago she accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior! We had been sharing copies of Proclaimation with her and believe that this was at least partially responsible for her decision. She was especially impressed with Vol 5, Issue 5, Sept-Oct 2004 because it had an article by the son of some old friends of hers. She also enjoyed Colleen's article the "human spirit". She made it clear that she was not accepting Adventism, but Jesus. Last Saturday morning at 1am she transferred to heaven. So we are grieving and rejoicing at the same time. Please pray for my wife and me and our extended family, many of whom are still SDA. Pray especially that God gives us His wisdom as we talk with SDA family members.

In addition to losing Mom, our youngest is leaving for Air Force Basic on the last day of this month. She joined the Air Guard so she will come back home after training as we have a Air Guard Base here, but it still comes down to the last one leaving home.

Also, I'm requesting your prayers for me in a different situation. For the last few months I have become increasingly aware of the work of the Spirit in my life. This have coincided with a deeper commitment on my part. Lately it been almost overwhelming. I sense that God is preparing me for something. I will almost certainly lose my current teaching position at the end of summer quarter. But I have complete trust that God is preparing something better. Please pray specifically that I will completely submit to His will and wait patiently upon Him.

I am adding your requests to my prayer list.

Love,
Dane

Dane, I will pray especially for your requests also. I have been praying for you and your wife, but I'll be more specific. Praise God for His work in your MIL's life, and praise Him also for whatever He is preparing for you.

Thanks for all your prayers! Mom was moved to a regular room last night. She seems to be doing well. Blood pressure a bit high, but that's all. She's still quite weak and sick of the hospital, of course.

Lydell, good news. An esophogeal tear is not a casual wound. I'm happy to hear she's so much better. Prayers continue.
