I have a couple of prayer requests. This morning when I came in to school I had an email from a principal I know to tell me that a young boy I had in my class some years ago was drown a few days ago in Rancho Cucamonga.

I was asked what I remembered since I knew him better as his teacher and the other teacher (principal) would be meeting with his mother and wanted to learn what he could share with her.

He was such a delightful young man and my prayers are for peace and comfort for his mom. I didn't know her that well but I can imagine this is very tramatic for her. I may see about visiting her myself but not sure my Spanish is good enough to say much.

His name is Rigo.

My second prayer request is for my daughter. This past Sunday she entered an inpatient drug treatment center for a one month stay. We have no direct contact with her for the first week except for our prayers.

She has been scared to death to face the issues of her life, some go back to her foster care days before we adopted her. She had stopped attending church and I would quietly continue to share my faith with her even when not asked. I wanted her to really be assured of God's love for her. Our relationship had gotten much better over the past several months.

Please keep her in prayer, I'll be going to see her this Sunday afternoon after church.

Richard

Dear Dane, my trhoughts and prayers are with you during this time of mourning. Seekr, my heart sure goes out to your family during this time. Drug addiction is a hard thing to deal with. The relapse rate is horrendous. Please, always reasure her that the adoption is final. Even though my children are natural born I have been through similiar situtations ad you are going through. And, it is not easy. somehow though the Good Lord gets us through it every time and He will not leave you or forsake you and your family during this time. And, Dane, the work of the sopirit in your life is wonderful. I will suggest you call a large Catholic church and ask about a contimplative prayer/spirit filled group. If you are in So. Cal. seek out Father Ray and his ministery. The Spirit of The Lord certanily is with that groups. My prayers are with each of your requests.

I am praying for your daughter. It is a rough time but God will turn this around for His victory. I will pray for you and insight from God in reaching out to her.

Also, how are you doing? I continue to pray for you and am holding onto hope that God has turned your suffering into glory for Him.

Oh and Richard...
I am also remembering Rigo's mom and am praying that God will use you to bring a peace to her life because of your love for Him. Maybe you can't share with her verbally but I am confident God will use you anyway.

Praying for all of you!

Things are much better here, financially.

Still problems with the (soon to be) ex. He did go to NC to work there, pray that he stays there. He ignores the whole situation, calls me daily, acts like nothing is going on. Hasn't responded to the divorce papers at all...

He quit the pills (forced detox in jail) and he is a different person when he is sober, but how long will that last? I have no confidence in his long term sucess. Like Dr. Phil says, "the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior" Furthermore, I couldn't care less about dealing with him anymore, ever.

Kids are a different story..........hard deal there. They want to go with dad because he is "fun" he's a kid himself, why not?

Just pray that he stays in NC and we can get on with our lives. I know the kids wont want to move anywhere, they love it here, we love it here.

Also, PLEASE pray that my tenant can get approved for a loan on my house, soon!

My daughter, Ashlyn is having to go to summer school, she is her dad cloned. Unmotivated, terrible temper, lazy, self condemning. Please pray for her, she is very angry. It's not something new, she was born that way. Possibly ADD, she is very hyper and just basically high strung, I could use some prayers in just dealing with her.

I'm in a good frame of mind, very optimistic, thank you all very much.

Love you all,
Sabra

He is awesome.

Sabra,
I like your statement "I'm in a good frame of mind, very optimistic..." reminds me of a passage in Colossians (3:15a - "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts."). It is only through Him that we experience peace and I believe that when we have that peace it is His affirmation to us that He is guiding our choices and decisions.

The best example I can think of in the Bible of living in the peace of Christ is when Peter was in prision (Acts 12). King Herod had just put James to death with a sword. He did it to please the Jews and to advance his standing. Peter had every reason to be stressed and sick with worry the night before he was to be brought before Herod. He was under heavy guard when the angel of the Lord appeared in his cell to save him. What was Peter doing? SLEEPING! Not just a little snooze but such a deep sleep the angel "struck Peter's side"! That is peace!

I am praying for you Sabra! Hang on! Share your peace and faith with your daughter. Love her and you can be sure I am praying along with you for her!

Thanks Dd,

I do have moments of doubt that this is the right thing. Your post helped me with that doubt for today. :-)

Sabra, please add me to those who are supporting you in prayer. I was very moved by what Dd had to say. God is so good to put us together with others who are so in love with Jesus and his word that they can bring to us, when we need it, a word from Scripture that fills the situations we are in with light. May God bless us all, and especially those who are troubled and dealing with difficult people and situations. May we have the sort of peace that will allow us to sleep soundly knowing that Jesus is in everything, and behind everything, and goes before us in every trial. Therefore, I humbly hold up to the Saviour all of those who are posting here, especially Sabra, Dane, and Richard. Be also with Susan and her son as they face their own version of Herod. Amen

I have a request. My son, Ryan, flew to Dallas last night to pick up a car he purchased on e-Bay. He will be driving 1,800 miles over the course of the next three days, so I'm praying for travel mercies, and a sense for him of God's love and protection as he drives that whole lonely distance.

I may have mentioned that my son has the same name as an arsonist who was burning down housing developments, so once again last night every piece of luggage and equipment that he had with him was thoroughly scrutinized, he was taken into a side room and searched and interviewed, but he had allowed adequate time for this because once it has happened to you, you can anticipate it again. He did make his flight, and is now happily cruising down the Interstate in Texas.

God, be with Ryan, as you have been all his life, as he drives to home from Dallas. Be his copilot and companion and may he sense Your presence as he drives. Thank you for getting him through the airport search and God catch the person who has the same name.
Be with Belva and the rest of her family.
I know you hold us in your awesome hands and I thank you for that. Thank you for Jesus.

Dear Diana, thank you for your prayer--it matches mine exactly! About the arsonist who has made my son's life a living H*** when he travels, he is held in the Sacramento County Jail. Why he would be on a "no-fly list" while he is locked up is beyond me. I guess they are just being cautious against the day when he does get out.

I heard from Ryan about an hour ago. He had no problems finishing up the paperwork and is happily driving home on the I20 through a driving rain. When he called he said there was a Texas Ranger pacing right along with him--is that God's way of keeping him on his toes? He loves his new car, but is getting used to having a transmission that works--a whole new sensation--because he has been babying the transmission in his old car for over a year.

Please view this update as a praise item. Thank you Jesus, for your love and care.

Please pray for my sister. Last week she adopted a brand new baby boy. The birth mom has until tomorrow (Sunday) at midnight to change her mind, and is apparently suffering with some (post-partum??) depression. First of all, my sister is concerned that she may change her mind, and second of all, I just cannot imagine what this girl is going through, giving up her baby. It would be so hard. Right, but hard. So, please pray for all involved. Thanks.

Somethinfishy,
I have written your request on my prayer list and here is a prayer you can read. God, you know what is best for this baby. I think a baby should have a Mom and a Dad and I pray that Fishy's sister can keep this baby. Be with the birth Mom with whatever she is going through. May she sense your presence with her and know that by giving the baby up for adoption she is doing what is best for it. Take care of all parties involved and keep then in your awesome hands. AMEN
Belva, I will continue my prayer for your son's safe return. That is a long way to drive by himself.

Thank you...If I could tell you the whole story and all the details of this situation from start to finish, you would be in wonder at how God's hand has been in it all. To me, this is the ultimate example of how to make lemonade when life gives you lemons. If this girl can choose the good God has offered her in this situation, then there is NO excuse for any of the rest of us, no matter how tough our situation is. He works ALL things TOGETHER for GOOD for those who LOVE HIM, and who are called ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE. I trust that since His hand has been so obviously in this from the beginning, He will not take it away now. Thanks for your prayers. I know they make a difference.
Fishy
