My heart is breaking for both of the mothers at this moment. I'm praying that the birth mother receives God's assurance that her child will be cared for and loved in a way that she, in her present situation, could only dream of doing. I pray for the adoptive mother that she will keep as a treasure in her heart the welfare of the birth mother, as she holds God's child in her arms. I have no doubt that God is in the details of every aspect of this situation, and both of these mothers are there to fulfill His holy purpose. I pray for assurance for everyone concerned.

Progress report on my son is that he is exactly where he anticipated being at this time on his trip. He spent the night last night with his uncle. They have seen to it that he is well rested and fed and he will be continuing on to Southern California today. Thank you for your prayers for safety. So far everything is going like clockwork, so all of our prayers are working.

I have mentioned that I want to go into business for myself, so that when I am ready to retire I will have something, that I really like to do, ready to do. I will be 65 in November, 2005. I will not quit my job. I have prayed about it and asked God for a definite answer, and as usual, He does not write His answer in the sky or tell me directly. But when I mention this business to people I do not know very well or my Christian friends, they all tell me to go for it. The business would be 2 things. The first is corporate wellness. That is going into companies, with management permission, and teaching their staff exercises they can do on the job to reduce the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome and other repetitive motion injuries. The second is doing hands on therapy in a room I will have fixed up in my house or renting space from a massage therapist, chiropractor, PT. Today I was at a store that sells ergonomic chairs and I bought one for my home. I told the young men there what I wanted and all I heard was encouragement. They know the massage therapist across the parking lot and the MT has told them that he does not know what to do with his patients with carpal tunnel syndrome. From what I have seen also, that is the case. So I need lots of prayer. I am afraid as I have never done anything like this. I see the need for it, but I am afraid. Also I am in a very comfortable zone, where I am doing work I can do, not that it is my favorite. I am making a good salary and I like that comfort zone. When I step out of my comfor zone I do it slowly and very cautiously. God seems to be answering me through others/strangers. That has happened to me before. But as I said, it is frightening to go out on my own. Realistically, I know God is with me, but I feel alone as I cannot see what will happen in the future. Not that I can see the future right now, but like I said, I am in a comfort zone. So I am asking prayers from all of you. I need them so much as I step out of this comfort zone and trust God. This seems to be where He is leading me and I know He will not drop me. Thanks so much for all your prayers.
God is so awesome.

Diana,

I'll definitely be praying for you. May the Lord bless your endeavor -- it sounds like a good idea! I admire your entrepreneurial spirit and hope to maybe someday follow in your footsteps. Yes, you're right...God is with you and He always will be.:-)

Diana, people with your knowledge and skill will continue to be of value to others for a very long time. I admire your spirit and intention, and will pray that God will lead you as you step out in faith.

Belva, I was reading above that your son has the same name as a known arsonist and it causes him a lot of hassle.

In the meantime, I'll pray that it all works out... [edited]

Susan, that sounds very illegal! I think you should be very careful about making such recommendations on this or any other public forum.

No, Bob, a hundred times no. Those are totally legal. They are only illegial if a person trys to use them as a legal id, which I understand a lot of under 21's do so they can get into bars. But, just having them in not illegial. Only using them is illegial. The website makes that very clear.

Susan, your defense is specious! Why buy a false ID if one has no intention of using it?

I have two problems with your recommending the purchase of false IDs on this website:

1. I don't think Christians should try to pass themselves off as someone other than who they really are. This is lying and deception.

2. In view of current national sensitivity to terrorist activities, your recommendation could subject this website to serious scrutiny by the Department of Homeland Security and other law enforcement agencies.

Susan, false ID is a form of lying. We can't recommend using false ID as a liegitiamte form of self-protection. Further, now matter how "innocent" the motivation, if a person is found to be using a fake ID in order to avoid being confused with a real criminal or in order to avoid detection for other reasons, that person will be under REAL suspicion. If I were a law-enforcement officer (or anyone else, for that matter) and found that someone was carrying a fake ID, I wouldn't trust anything else he told me.

Ultimately we have to be honest about ourselves and trust God for His protection and vindication of us. We only enmesh ourselves in greater and greater trouble when we try to hide.

But God is faithful.

O.K., I accept your repramands. I will not make any more "shady" suggestions. But, still I would not want to be confused by the authorities as an arsonist. I will be more discerning from now on with my suggestions. And, Somethingfishy, how is the baby doing? I sure hope the situtation works out in the best interest of all concerned.

Dear Susan, I'm not sure what you recommended, but I am aware that Ryan will need to get an additional "expanded" ID that will help to separate him from the arsonist with the same name. I think it can be done through the court system, or maybe even through the DMV. We are going to check into it, because it is a hassle to have to get the shake-down treatment every time you travel.

Ryan is a good, productive citizen, and it is just sad that in order for people to be safe in this country we have to operate in such a paranoid atmosphere. He drove in early this morning around 2:45 after driving the full 1200 miles from his uncle's house to our place in one go. He fell into bed, but was up again at 10:00 because he wanted to wash and shine it up so he could go show that new car off to his friends. Thank you for your prayers. From his description of the trip, there was death and destruction in the opposite lanes, but his way was safe and smooth. God is good, but I'm sorry that there were the accidents that he saw on his way here.

I am lifting each one here up in prayer. We are so privileged to be able to talk to our Father any time, any place.

Thank you for your prayers for our family during our time of mourning. We face an additional bump in our lives tomorrow morning when we send our youngest off to Air Force Basic. We had our oldest daughter from Denver here over the weekend and took pics of both in their BDU's. I feel so proud that they are serving our country. But it makes me feel old at the same time. But God will take care of all of us.

Dane,
I can really put myself in your shoes. My son is active duty Air Force and was in the Air National Guard before he went to OCS. He is my only child. When he left for OCS, I cried and I cried and smiled when he graduated OCS. I am very proud of him as he serves this wonderful country.
I will pray for your girls and for you that God keep you and your daughters in his hands. Do you have other children??
God has each of us in His awesome hands.

Dane,
My heart aches for you...I cannot even begin to imagine my life without my children close by. I am full of awe and respect for parents who can release their children into God's leading. I am praying for you that you may experience peace during this time. I also will pray for your children. Please tell them thank you for their service...the same goes for you Diana, too...and all other military personal!

Hi my friends....if you would, please remember me in prayer...I'm leaving Saturday for two weeks in Mexico (language school.) The school district for which I work is sending quite a few of us to work on our Spanish.

Went to the doc today, and my kidney stone is blasted pretty good, but x-rays show still two pieces of somewhat significant size that need to pass. I have plenty of pain meds to take with me, as well as antibiotics, but it's a little scary leaving the country right now. But....I don't want to miss this opportunity, and my doctor says it's ok. BTW, I'll be in "Cuernavaca" if you all know where that is! I'm excited about the trip.

And a praise report (in my humble opinion.) My new baby was born this yesterday. His name is "Rocky" and he's a little boxer pup. Will be able to get him in early to mid-July. We sure do miss our dobie, and grieve still, but look forward to a new puppy. Life for us is just not quite complete without a dog!

I love you all!

Carol, praying for your trip.

How interesting that your Rocky was born yesterday. On Saturday we got Rocky II (the II is in memory of our collie that was hit by a car in October). Rocky II is a nearly-two-year-old, oversized, mainly black (tri-colored) Sheltie. He's not a collie, but he is quite endearing anyway! Yes, I know how you feel; life for us is not quite complete without a dog!

Carol, I am praying for your good health in Mexico, as well as for your new boxer pup. Dogs, really do remind us of the Creator's love for us. I just got done playing ball outside with my 60 pound black standard poodle.

Dear Stan, I read that in days of old stasndard poodles were used at guard dogs of the palaces. I understand as far as smart dogs go they are one of the smartest breads. They are very beautiful dogs. Frankly, I have no pet at the present time. My cat left home and moved in with the neighbors. I swould like to have a lab or a reteriver.
