My daughter has been in an inpatient rehab center for 6 weeks of an 8 week cycle. She agreed to go in for the intitial month and after that month requested another mouth. I am praying for her and ask for your prayers that God's healing hand will continue to do a work in her.

She has made considerable progress but still has a way to go.

My prayer is also that she will have the strength to separate from her past friends and learn to rely on her Savior. She is not resting in that place now and I pray so much for her to turn to Christ as her Savior. She has said when she comes out she will attend a 12 step program at a church where I attend another meeting at the same time.

She understands the importance of support but it is difficult for her to give it up. I know I must hold her up in prayer and let God be God. Not easy.

Richard,
I have put your daughter and your family on my prayer list. I know how much good a 12 step program will do for a person, so I will be praying that she attend one and that she learn to depend on Christ. I learned so much about God's love for me in my program. I say the program deprogrammed my brain of adventism so it was very easy for me to leave it.
It is very easy to stir the pot that God has. I know, I have done it. Let Go and Let God. That is another lesson I learned in my program.
God, Be with Richard's daughter and teach her of your love for her. Send the Holy Spirit to teach her and send it to Richard also, that he can let go and let God. You are awesome.

I haven't posted anything, but I have added you
to my prayers as I have read them. So tonight I wrote you all down to be sure I got it straight
and it made me realize how we all have such herache and problems, I am thankful God hears and
answers prayers, of course I want the answers to
come sooner than they do, but I am learning to
wait. May God give you all strength, courage, wisdom and love to meet you meeds!

Hello all,

My mom went to the ER and was diagnosed with diabetes on Tuesday. She had a blood sugar level of 600 mg/dL. But praise God, she is doing well now and is out of ICU now! Thank you all so much for your prayers!

Hear, hear! It's not good news that she will need to deal with diabetes from now on, but excellent news that she knows that name of the beast and can use the proper medications.

Hello everyone, my mom wanted me to thank you for her, for all your prayers for her. She really appreciates it that you all prayed for her and that God answered the prayers! :-)

She is doing a lot better, her glucose is under control, and she is adjusting to life as a diabetic.

Please add me to your prayer lists--I've just learned that I have whooping cough. I've had this terrible, non-productive cough for about a month now, and then I learn that it could last for at least another month. This is very tiring and I'd like to get over this as soon as possible, but more than that I don't want to be the source of this scourge for anyone else. I've tried to warn everyone who has been around me for the past three or four weeks, but most of all I'm concerned about my grand-nephew who came out here last week so we could take him to Disneyland. He was born with a herniated diaphragm, as in, he didn't even have a diaphragm at birth. He has a piece of gortex that has been in place since his birth. He will be seeing the doctor about getting that gortex replaced with the larger size so he can continue to grow. I, for sure, don't want to be the reason that this surgery will be delayed.

I know it's a big number to ask, but we serve a big God. Calvin needs to grow up as normal as possible, but he is compromized. Because he didn't have a diaphragm at birth his heart was very small, and one of his lungs had failed to develop much past the bud stage. It has since grown some, but respiratory illnesses go hard on him.

Thank you for your prayers.

Belva, sorry about your illness. I Will pray for you. I think children are immunized against whooping cough-pertussin??.

WE were not immunized against those childhood illness over forty years ago. We stood in line and waited for the mumps, measles, chicken pox. I had whooping cough. I was eight years old. It lasted three months. I lived a normal life such as going to school, playing with neighborhood kids, eating and drinking with family but coughing until vomitted sometimes. I was not given any medicine. No one else in the family or friends contracted it. I am not sure whether or not WC is contaigous (help me out , Stan).

However, I understand your concern for little Calvin. I am praying for his protection also.
God bless.

Belva, You and Calvin will be in my prayers.
I wonder if you should check with his doc--they get booster shots along the way and he may be in line for one. If he has had a booster shot recently you might at least feel better knowing he should be protected--but not any better than knowing that God answers prayers!!

Trust me, I've warned his mother, and since he will see his doctor tomorrow I'm sure they will do what is necessary for him. I just feel better knowing that he is being lifted up in prayer. This infection is hard on me and I have two good working lungs, he doesn't. Thank you for your concern and prayers.

Belva,
I am praying for you and Calvin. Unfortunately, Whooping cough is one of the most contagious of infectious diseases. Calvin would be very vulnerable. There are steps to prevent it, and it looks like Erythromycin given early at the first sign of a cough, running nose, may prevent it. Pediatrics is not my field, so hopefully Calvin has a good pediatrician. As far as you are concerned, you should do just fine with Erythromycin or Zithromax or Biaxin. For any other medical questions feel free to email me at riverfonz@aol.com.
