Belva,
Just to follow up. I think Bmorgan is right. If he got his immunization shots for Whooping cough, then hopefully he'll be OK.

Please pray for my friend Stephanie and her husband Eric. Stephanie is bipolar and went off her med because she wanted to have another child. She was fine for 4 months. Now she is in the midst of a battle. She has been admitted to the hospital and keeps getting worse. She can't sleep, she's always agitated. At this point she doesn't even know anyone. She's not in her right mind. Her husband is at his wits end trying to get the proper care for her. My prayer team and I have been praying for her. Please add her to your prayers as well.

Thanks so much!

Kathy, I will pray for your friends. Is she pregnant or not that far yet? Several on here have first hand knowledge with mental disabilities, and know the pain of family and friends. I will pray for you too.

Kathy,
I'm praying that Stephanie gets the best medical care possible, but also that the Lord would be with her in a special way.

Kathy, I'm also praying that Stephanie receives the medical care that she needs and also the spiritual and emotional healing that only Jesus can give.

I also have a request. Circumstances require that I be unspecific, but I have friend facing a serious crisis. I'm sorry I can't explain further, but I know that you will be able to pray even without the details. I'm so thankful that the Spirit intercedes for us even when we don't know what we should pray for!

Colleen, your friend will be in my prayers.

I also have a prayer request which because of it's sensitive nature I must not give many details.

Two friends of mine who are awesome women of God will be going to meet with an SDA pastor out here in California. They feel called to prayerfully confront an issue of demonic attachment they feel is on the SDA church. I can not be more detailed than that. They will be meeting this Thursday at 1pm. I solicite your prayers.

My prayer is that the Holy Spirit might invade the meeting and soften and prepare the hearts of all those in attendance.

"Lord do your work - May your Spirit do it's work and touch each person there. May each have a spirit of discernment and honesty to confront difficult issues and attachments in their life. I pray that each might seek your heart and look only to you and not denominationalism or the will of man."

Amen

Thank you for your prayers for my friend. In answer to your question, Melissa, no Stephanie is not pregnant. She wanted to be though. Stephanie did finally sleep for 4 hours last night. That is a good sign because she hasn't been sleeping for more than an hour at a time for 2 weeks now. I will keep you posted.

Please, pray that some things that are uncertain in my life will soon be resolved. Three years ago I got married (again, for the last time). Soon after the wedding we went to the military base and I got a dependent ID card as the person I married was retired army. Last week I went to use the card and was denied. I made numerous phone calls to try to figure out what was wrong. Apparently the spouse may have more wives. Anyway, the military investigation unit is trying to figure out what is going on. I just want to know for sure what is going on in my life. The man ran me many thousands of dollars in dept and then left me. I later found out he has warrents out for him in Georgia for burgerly. He also has numerous warrents in many counties all up and down California. When we dated he was a perfet gentleman. I counseled with the minister who preformed the wedding and he assured me that we all were scammed. We even got married in the church. If we are not married then I hope I can get an annulement as the paperwork with this county will have to be righted. If I can't get an annulement then I know the Lord knows the truth. I just want to know what is going on. This is causing me great emotional termoil. Please, pray it will be resolved soon. I have always been such an easy victum. I need to learn to not be so trusting. Anyway, I appriciate your prayers.

Susan,
I have added this request to my prayer list. You have had some difficult times and you can retain your sense of humor, as seen in other things you write.
God is taking care of you and will continue to do so. He is so awesome.

I need prayer.

My sister (who was raised SDA, but has never gone to any church since she left home) came to visit my mom without any warning. Althoug she has the money to do so, she hasn't been to visit Mom for 2 years. She came with an agenda to move my Mom into an assisted living facility. Mom has been living in her own home with 24 hour/day care. She didn't want to move. But after one week with my sister, she was convinced that I was abusive, stealing her money, etc. and she wanted to move into this "wonderful" place. My concern is that this place is run by SDA's and is VERY conservative - Vegan, EGW, 3ABN, etc. Mom has been attending church with us, but this place is about an hour in the oposite direction from our church so we will not be able to take her with us any more. She will be totally immersed in the SDA cult again.

My prayer request is this. I need to forgive my mom and my sister for being so hateful towards me. I know my mom has dementia and is easily manipulated so I might be able to forgive her in time. But my sister was truely hateful. She has started an investigation by Adult Protective Services of myself and my daughter, who also helped me care for Mom. We have done nothing wrong and I'm sure we will be cleared, but it is scarey to think about. I'm an emotional wreck right now! I don't see how I can ever forgive her!

I know that both of them will never ask for forgivness, but I also know that I need to forgive anyway. That will only happen with a miracle from the Lord!

I also ask for prayer for my mom to be protected from the SDA doctrines. She was just beginning to understand Grace through Faith alone, the harm perfectionist SDA doctrine has caused, and the JOY of knowing the assurance of Salvation. She had even asked to join our Church. I'm so afraid that she will revert back to her old SDA way of thinking.

I'm feeling pretty low right now. I'm having trouble trusting God and letting Him work all this out. I've been crying for a week at least! I need to feel Jesus' arms around me and the Holy Spirt's Comfort right now. It seems my prayers aren't going past the ceiling! I really do feel alone.

GOD HELP ME, PLEASE!

Dear Tisha,

My heart is weeping along with yours. All the times in my life that I have wept at my lowest crying, "God where are you?", come rushing into my memory as I read your words.

You are in a battle! Ephesians 6 is a great place to start in getting on your battle gear! We cannot win any battle without the proper gear. Our enemy knows this. He is not a fair fighter. He wants you fighting him on your own without any protection.

Ephesians 1:17-20 tells us we have specific blessings that come through prayer...wisdom, revelation of the knowledge of God, understanding of the hope of His calling, the riches He gives, the greatness of His power...the list goes on and on.

After I finish typing this to you I want you to know I will be on my knees for you. Prayerless lives are powerless lives. The better we know God, the more we will trust Him. The more we trust Him, the more we will sense His peace. That is my specific prayer for you...that the peace of God will be washed over you as the enemy blows mighty winds against you.

"With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying" (Eph. 6:18)

"Prayer matters! The Spirit of God released through our prayers and the prayers of others turns cowards into conquerors, chaos into calm, cries into comfort!" (from Beth Moore's 'Breaking Free' Bible study)

Dd, thank-you so much for your encouragement and prayers. I have my Bible here at work and will read Ephesians again. I know this, but I do need to be reminded when I get so overwhelmed with it all. My head knows, but sometimes my heart feels differently! I need to keep rereading the Bible so my heart can feel it also. When I get so down, all those old feelings of not being good enough come pouring in. It seems like I can't do anything right. But I DO KNOW that Jesus died for ME, and so He must want what is good for me, also. I just need to be reminded to open my eyes to all the blessings he has given me, and will give me. Thanks!

Tisha,
I am taking the "Breaking Free" Bible study (by Beth Moore) at the community church we have recently started attending. Even if you do not take the class with a group, you can buy the work book at a Christian Book store (actually, I found one at Hastings the other day!). I highly recomend purchasing the workbook (different from the book of the same title). The study is about removing those feelings of not being good enough. I have been transitioning out of Adventism for almost 8 years now and I still have the ugliness of these same old feelings. Even though I realize I have been eternally saved, I need lots of help avoiding snares and pitfalls in my earthly journey. Isaiah 30:15 tells us that in God and resting confidently in His promises and His power, we will continually find salvation, peace, healing, comfort, contentment...even in the troubles of our days.

Still praying for you... :-)

Thanks Denise,

I'll look for that book and workbook. It sounds like something I could use about now!

While reading Ephesians 6 - It starts out by reminding us to honor our "father and mother which is the first commandment with promise; that it may be well with you and you may live long upon the earth" (v 2,3). So, I need to honor my mother inspite of what she has done! That's a good reminder! Then later it says do good, because we will recieve the same from the Lord (v8), then it says "be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." (v10,11). Then it goes on to tell us what the armor is, ending with v 18 and the instruction to pray always.

I have read this many times before. I guess I just regarded it in a general way to be ready to "fight the good fight". But today, as I read it, I can see just how it applies to ME TODAY! It's not just something for later - it's for NOW! I love the picture I get when I read about the "Shield of Faith" quenching "the fiery darts of the wicked one"! I don't mean to trivialize this at all, but I can see how the "Shield of Faith" can help me deflect those "darts" my sister is throwing my way! It's wonderful how the Bible can be so relavent to our lifes!

In Isaiah 30
v 15 - "For this is what the master, the Lord, the sovereign king of Israel says: "If you repented and patiently waited for me, you would be delivered; if you calmly trusted in me you would find strength, but you are unwilling."

Lord I want to be willing!

v 18 - "For this reason the Lord is ready to show you mercy; he sits on his throne, ready to have compassion on you. Indeed, the Lord is a just God; all who wait for him in faith will be happy."
v 19 - "...When he hears your cry of despair, he will indeed show you mercy; when he hears it, he will respond to you".

Lord, please hear my cry of despair and show me mercy.

Denise, thank-you so much for pointing me to those Bible passages.

Sing it Tisha! The Bible is our guidebook TODAY. As an SDA I always used it to look back into history and forward to what was to come. That is hardly the case!! Now I see that it is for my life everyday as I am frustrated with kids, troubled by the other parents on the swim team, upset at the way my husband is treated at work, worried about where the money will come from to pay for an extra expense... It is such a marvelous instruction book - I can't understand how it is so misunderstood!

I am praising God this afternoon that you have had a glimpse of His presence in your turbulant day. That's what He is all about!

By the way, while I am at it...I am praying for your mother and sister...God will use this in some way to show them His love that they would not have seen otherwise.

Dear Father in Heaven,
