God bless you Lynne. Another text that I will add to Belva's list above is Rom. 10:9,10 "If anyone confesses with his mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believes in their heart that God raised Him from the dead, YOU WILL BE SAVED. It doesn't say might be, or hope to be if I pass the I.J., it says you will be saved, because God's Word has so promised and He will never lie.

I would like to ask all of you to pray for two patients of mine. I found out that one of them is a member of my church. The other is from Arizona. I cannot tell their names or diagnoses. They are both Christians. God knows what they need, so please pray for them.

I'm off to see family for a week... SDA's... will be doing church with them next Saturday. Please pray as my family LOVES to argue as often as possible.

God gave me a wonderful question to ask last night as I was sleeping. When a topic comes up that is laid out for the purpose of arguing, I need to ask " Are you in search of truth and seeking God's will regarding this topic, or are you wanting to point out to me the error of my thinking, because I'm only interested in helping you grow if you are truly trying to sort out the truth for yourself using the Bible only as your source of truth."

That sounds all so strong and all, but I really need prayer as I get sucked in easily by the traps at an argument and it DOES NO GOOD in convincing. I love the text in James that says that anger does not produce the righteous life that God requires.

So please pray if you would.

What God has had me do is to tell peole that I do not debate/argue religion or politics. But, I do like what God gave you last night.
God is always with you and has said not to worry about what to say. I forget the text, but I can look for it if you want. Just trust in Him.
He is truly awesome.

Hi Lisa and everyone else...

Whenever I encounter SDA's that want to debate or question my choices, I always begin with something simple...like, "The Lord opened my eyes to greater understanding." or "I am walking with Jesus alone, and He has guided me elsewhere." When a person wants specifics, I tell them that the doctrine of the church does not line up with God's word and when they hear that, they get scared. It often comes out as debate and argument, but what has happened is their confidence in the arroance of thinking you are the only TRUE church is shaken...and so they must systematically break you down, in order to gain that confidence back...when you do not entertain these debates, arguments or questions, they are left with a naggin question..."COULD indeed the doctrine on the church be false?" I use Titus 3:9 as my reasoning... "Do not get involved in foolish discussions about spiritual pedigrees or in quarrels and fights about obedience to Jewish laws. These kinds of things are useless and a waste of time." Also 2Timothy 2:23-26 says..."Again I say, don't get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights. The Lord's servants must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone. They must be able to teach effectively and be patient with difficult people. They should gently teach those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people's hearts, and they will believe the truth. Then they will come to their senses and escape from the Devil's trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants." This is the New Living Translation, which I personally prefer.

I am never suggesting to ignore someone, unless they are outright rude and indignant, in which case I would stop and pray, but I am referring to an all out debate, complete with Ellen's plagarisms and heavily added to cultist bible. When those situations arise, ask the Holy Spirit for guidance, and remember that He is in control and as long as He is allowed to be Himself, you will not ever lose your cool or be afraid of what is said to/about you.

WOOOH!! I guess I am pretty passionate about that thing. I really dislike debating and dislike it even more now that I have the greatest reason NOT to...the TRUTH is Jesus Christ. PERIOD.

Even so, I pray for you and us all as we face those we love that are still held captive by the Ellen syndrome.

Good MORNING JESUS!!! God, You are BEAUTIFUL!

Shontay

Colleen or anyone else, does anyone know if Susan is ok? Has anyone heard from her? I see that it's been six days since her prayer request. I hope and pray she is alright.

I have not heard from Susan. Sometimes she has trouble getting to a computer, but I really do not know her status.

It's good to see you, Jeremy. Are you doing OK? Have you been moving?

Praying for her and for you

Hi Colleen, I'm doing alright, although it's been a busy and sometimes stressful time. We're moving this weekend, mainly Saturday. Is that the ultimate breaking of the Sabbath or what?! :-) :-)

I'm amazed at how peaceful I feel in the midst of all the "stuff" going on right now. Please keep my daughter in your prayers.

A little background for those who are new. Annie my adopted daughter is 19. She was in drug rehab for two months recently and did well for awhile when she came out. The condition of her living with us as she got things together was for her to remain drug free and honest with us.

This last week both conditions were broken in a "big" way. I had seen signs for awhile but she would not acknowlege or let me help. She was given a choice. (I'm sure she would not consider it a choice ! ! :-) ) She had to move out. (period) BUT I told her I would pay for a sober living placement for two months and then she would need to work with me about her next steps.

She has a part time job which with supervision they will allow her to continue going to.

Please keep Annie and our family in your prayers. She has a court date coming up in three weeks. Yesterday she went down to the police to be fingerprinted and booked and was released until her court date.

I felt a lot of support from the ladies at the Sober Living Home when I visited with Annie on Monday and that is good. Sara and I took Annie down last night to help her move in. I am hopefull and praying she will stick with it and not just give up. She still has difficulty showing emotion or vulnerbility to others. She has allowed herself to show the soft side at times with me but it is not easy for her. As you might expect this makes it very difficult for her to accept how much God loves her. She does tell me how she knows I love her and right now that might be my mission in life to show her the the love of God in my response to her.

I do have a sense of peace knowing she is in God's hands but it is still tough as a Dad to see what is happening.

In Christ,

Richard

PS: some of you have emailed and I wish to say thank you VERY much. Life has been crazy and I know I've not answered some of you. Sorry.

Richard, I continue to pray for you and your family. Sometimes the choices we have to make for our kids are absolutely gutwrenching. Just cuz you know you did the right thing doesn't mean it doesn't hurt at the same time. Peace to you, my friend.

I continue to pray for you and your daughter. God is still in charge, even with all this.
