Melissa, I just now read your post. I'm so sorry about your grandmother. I'm really struck, however, by the confidence and faith and thankfulness that is part of a true believer's response to another tgrue believer's death. It's still a bit of a surprise to me to hear people being hopeful and able to rejoice while also mourning loss. Thank you for demonstrating that true hope and faith in God's promises to us!

I will pray for God's peace and ongoing comfort for you.

Melissa, I am truly sorry about your grandmother's death. She will be missed by all the family. It is so good to see the hope, confidence, faith and thankfulness that you demonstrate in all of this. It is so good to see a true believer rejoice while mourning a loved one. Thank you for demonstrating this to me. You and your family will continue in my prayers.

Melissa, I really admire you for taking the time to send me a Christmas card, especially now that I know all the grief you're going through at this time. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

I am asking you for prayers this weekend, as the sister, GAL, whom I have written about before, is here in Las Vegas with our younger sister. She has been very nasty with me and our sister MLB. Now I will see her face to face. I have not seen her since the family reunion. I realize that she is a very unhappy person. When people are unhappy they can get very controlling as if they could control everything and then they will be happy. We all know that does not work. This sister is not a practicing SDA, but she still hangs onto something about the SDA church. Please pray for me and her as I meet her this weekend.

Please pray for my friend and colleague, who was diagnosed last week with cancer which has metastasized (Sp?). There has been absolutely no symptoms until one week ago. He and his family are in shock. His faith is strong. They will know more after a PET scan this week.

He is truly a servant of God. He has worked tirelessly with an innercity mission church, teaching the gospel to the men of the street, developing an industry to train the men in a marketable skills etc,.

He has been a sounding board and support for me, in my journey to truly KNOW God and God's will for me. He is a spiritul mentor to me, and so many others.

Please remember Jim and his family in your prayers. And please pray for the men that he works with. Please pray for me as well, as I "cover" for him until he is able to return to his ministy.

Praying! That must be a terrible shock! And yet God is faithful!

May God let His presence be felt and His glory be seen!

Another prayer request for my sister, GAL. She is being so nasty, telling me I am not being honest with her when I have been and am still being. She holds onto grudges, things that happened 3 years, and more, ago. I got tired of her nastiness and told her if she wrote to me as she did in her last e-mail, I would block her e-mail from my account. She is the type of person that does not listen to reason and if one does not agree with her, she attacks a person's honesty, their family, their character, their relationship with family and friends.
I know she is not happy and that is why she is so controlling.
I do not have to answer her, which I do not, most of the time.
Of course I am perfect and never make mistakes:-)
I like my son's definition of perfection: one who makes mistakes and knows how to apologize. Under that definition, I am perfect!
Thanks for your prayers for GAL and MLB.

Another prayer request for me. I worked for the state of Virginia and have 13 years 6 months with their retirement system. They are crediting me with 9 years 4 months. I used some of my retirement money and years later bought back the time. Now I am told I bought back only half of the time. When I bought the time back I received a check saying I had paid to much. Please pray that this will be resolved to God's Glory.
Thanks so much.

I appreciate the prayers of you who have continued to pray for my husband. Especially those I email with. He still maintains that Jesus was a prophet, or a good man etc. I have seen him be much more open to Christ in the past. He once studied to become clergy!

I dont know if any of you have lived with someone who is under conviction of the Holy Spirit, but I believe that that is the situation with my husband. It is very difficult and painful to watch someone while they wrestle with God. It is hard to sometimes be on the recieving end of their anger, irritability, and depression.
I guess Im asking for your prayers for ME. My husband is usally easy going, funny and likeable. He is not right now. I know this is rather personal, but I am continuing to focus on being transparent and honest....A very new way of living for me.
Spritually, I am stronger than ever, and the presence of God is strong and quite steady in my life. I do need prayer for patience and a gentle spirit. I continue to pray for you all.

Oh Javagirl! I'm so sorry.....you are in my and Wayne's prayers. He hears our prayers, and He is faithful. I know He will give you peace through this. And you're absolutely right, his behavior right now is because he is wrestling with God's Spirit. And we know Who will win!!!! God has obviously called him, so your hubby just doesn't stand a chance!

Love you girl, hope to see you at church tomorrow.

Definitely praying for both of you Diana and Javagirl!

I can identify with your struggle especially Javagirl. I can also testify that God gets us THRU, though not necessarily over or around these times. I also pray especially for your husband 'For God is not willing that any should perish'.

Blessing,

Mary
