Belva, I'll be praying for you, too.

Thank you, JavaGirl and Belva et al for praying for the weekend. I am aware that the local Adventists (well, many of them, at least) are upset about the idea of this weekend. Still, it is so clear that God has orchestrated this weekend; we are praying for all who will be attending, all who will be presenting, and for all who will come on Saturday night to the public meeting. We are praying that we will honor God in everything, that the Holy Spirit will be powerfully present, and that hearts will be open to Jesus and to recognizing His call to integrity at the deepest level.

Julie, it is next weekend. I have been wanting to mention this--yes, we should pray for the weekend, including for the presenters and their families, etc., that spiritual forces will not be able to perpetrate attacks on them. Pastor Mark Martin is requesting prayers for him and his wife (and also his assistant and his son, I believe), who will be going to the FAF Weekend. The last couple times that Pastor Mark was supposed to be involved in ministry to Adventists, he had accidents and was not able to minister. So we need to pray for God's protection. And also that many people will come and be set free in Jesus!

Jeremy

Thank you, Jeremy. You're right; spiritual warfare is definitely alive and well. Please pray for God's protection and for Jesus to be lifted up.

God is in control!

It's funny that as I was wanting to ask for prayer, I was thinking about Spiritual Warfare.

My husband and I officially left the SDA Church about three years ago. I have been so happy and felt so secure in my new understanding of Grace.

But ever since then it seems that the more I pray and try to put my trust fully in God, the more bad things happen to me. This last year I have been assaulted from every direction.

I've had some severe infections and been hospitalized several times. My health - both physical and mental - is at the lowest point I can remember. Our finances are a mess. I've had major family problems, car problems, appliance problems, legal problems, you name it! Now we had some major damage to our private road due to flooding caused by heavy rains and a county maintained culvert that was clogged. We're looking at about $15,000 to fix it - it isn't optional, because we cannot drive in to our house, can't get propane for our heat, etc.

I'm feeling completely overwhelmed by it all. Our Bible Study group, which has met faithfully every week for two years, has been cancelled the last three weeks due to illnesses in our group. It seems as if we are all being assaulted!

I've never felt this depth of despair. I'm not suicidal - I have too much to live for! But I do wish I could just crawl under a rock and hide for awhile. I really cannot handle much more.

I feel I'm being tested and falling short. I know I need to learn trust and humility. I feel so ashamed and incompetant, unable to handle all my responsibilities.

Please pray for me - basically to be able to be humble, learn to trust God, and find His Peace in the midst of all of this.

Thanks - tisha

Tisha, of course you will remain in my prayers, as do all of the people on this board. You are all my family. I want to say that a lot of people expect things to get all rosy when they gives their hearts to Jesus. Smart folks will tell you that that is when all hell breaks loose, literally. Yes, we can have peace in Christ, but now we are soldiers in a warfare. If Satan can bring something at you he will, and all of these different things you have mentioned are at his disposal. Jesus didn't promise freedom from troubles. Instead he said that in this world we will have troubles, but he has delivered us from this world. It's hard to do sometimes, but we need to view ourselves as being delivered from the problems while we are facing them off. Not easy to do, but that's why God has given us a wonderful suit of armor.

Blessings to you.

I always appreciate Belva's wisdom. Tisha, I'm also praying for you! (And for your imminent surgery, Belva.)

A few prayers requests:

1. For the FAF Weekend... this could be a revival in that SDA Mecca

2. www.ellenwhite.com and their harassment by the church

3. My cousin who's got cancer. She's had cancer 2 times before and this time they have to be very careful as she's only got one kidney (lost one to cancer) so the treatments are hard.

4. My patients.. I work in an Emergency Room. Every shift I see hopeless Godless scared up individuals, most of whom are very isolated and alone and full of regrets and pain... I'm a social worker, so they are the suicidal ones, the drug overdoses, the cutters, the hangers who didn't succeed. Please pray for me. I ask Jesus to join me as most of these people stink and are angry and hostile and high and alone. I want to love them like Jesus does. Please pray for his spirit to join me, as I'm very human and kind of a bundle of nerves most of the time myself. Pray that Jesus touches these broken up bodies and makes a new life for them. He has done it before and I know he's working on many of my patients.

5. Please pray for our business as it is in obedience to God we started it and left the comfort of the company. It's for Him we said yes.

6. Please pray for my friend Lori. She and her husband started a mission called Mission Aviation Training Academy... trains mission pilots for the field. Her husband was killed in a plane crash this last summer. She's solid as a rock, Jesus has been her comfort, but her health is terrible and the mission still goes on. Pray that God will find her a place to live that does not have mold in it as she lives in a beautiful place loaned to her on a lake full of mold and now SHE IS FULL OF MOLD AND VERY SICK.

Thank you for praying.

Lisa,

I am praying for YOU and those who are a part of your life. God has given you the gift of compassion and caring. Those around you, and in your influence are very fortunate. Your love for people and concern for the human condition speaks volumes about your connection to God. Please know that your family here is praying for your strength, and admire your commitment. It is difficult being the rock that everyone relies on,when you yourself are feeling overwhelmed.

Prayerfully,

Randy

Lisa, I'm also praying for you and yours. What a taxing job you have!

I would like to add my request for prayers this weekend also. I am praying for the Holy Spirit to be present and to bless each person; I'm praying that God will protect us from evil, and that He will also bring all those who need to come on Saturday night to the inviter event. I'm praying that God will soften hearts and that people will be convicted to follow Jesus with integrity.

I'm also praying for Him to keep Richard and me and Dale and Mark and Greg and the faith story presenters calm and filled with the Spirit and with His authority.

Lisa, I have experience with being exposed to mold. If you want to, please feel free to email me at whitemountainchat@yahoo.com, I would like to give you a little information.

Colleen,

I'll be praying for the weekend.

I have been wondering, is there going to be a gospel message and/or invitation Saturday night?

Jeremy

I hope the meeting gets coverage in the "press" (read that PROCLAMATION!) for those of us who can't be there. :-)

Colleen,
My prayers are also with you all for this weekend. I (and Richard) wish we could be there but finances have prohibited any more travel for awhile. Hopefully next time!

This journey (out of Adventism) has been very rewarding and still, very hard. We relate greatly with Greg Taylors' article about following Jesus with integrity; especially Jesus' words about "counting the cost".

grace always,
cindy

oops! I've no idea how that double post happened. My computer is barely limping along; very very slow and also erratic, doing things I don't want it to do!
