hi all
It's 3:45am and one of those nights. Came to the computer to try and study, but can't seem to concentrate. I don't normally like to talk about my cancer as I don't want people feeling sorry for me. However, sometimes....
I came here to ask for prayer for my husband. He is not a believer, but I have rarely met a better example of what a Christian should be. Last week when I came home from hospital I was too ill to do more than lie there. He sat by my bed and read scripture to me, to give me something positive to focus on. Trips to the bathroom have become a joint affair as that is often when I have the worst pain. There are a thousand other ways that he is there for me. He never complains and although he tries to hide it, I can see he is fearful and worried. I have Jesus to strengten me and get me through the rough times. Please pray that my husband will come to believe in and accept Jesus.

Lord, please be Toria's strength. Give her peace and ease her pain. Open up the eyes of her husband to the Gospel, the saving truth of Jesus. Nothing is impossible for you, Lord. Thank you, Lord.

Toria, thank you for being open with us. I will also pray for your husband as well as for you.

Dear Lord, please strengthen Toria with peace and relief. Please open her husband's heart to You and help Him to be able to respond to Your love and forgiveness and hope. Please help Toria to be able to trust him to You, knowing You are dealing with his heart, and even if she can't see what You're doing, You are at work. Help Toria to be able to love him for You.

Thank You for caring for her through his constancy. And thank You for holding Toria in Your hands and heart and for working in her husband as well.

Amen

Toria,
Bless you and thanks for sharing with us. Just the fact that he is so helpful and reads scripture to you is so encouraging. Romans 10 says "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God", and when he sees your Christian spirit in the light of your suffering with cancer, I am believing God that he will open the spiritual eyes of your husband, and he will come to faith. God is faithful. I am praying for you and your husband.

Pleeze, pleeze pray that the Good Lord will place on the heart of my sons probation officer to not violate him and send him back to jail. Poor kid, he's been trying so hard to stay on the right course and all he did was smoke a little weed and now he might get violated. And, please no lectures to me about condoning weed, etc. If you can't find it in your heart to pray that his p.o. lets him slide then at least find it in your heart to ask God that His will be done. Thank-you. And, Diana your job is in my prayers. And, Mary your friends in Australia are in my prayers. toria, you too are lifted up and Richard I want you to know I pray continually for Annie.

Susan,

I am praying for your son. Both for his PO situation and the "weed" situation. Please, who am I to judge? God's grace is for all.

Susan, I guess part of my question regarding your family is answered. I will of coarse be praying that God's loving hand might be upholding your son and that the probabation officer will be "listening" and following God's leading in the situation. I know from first hand experience some of the difficulties of your situation. But HE is God and in control.

Richard

PS: Annie is in the second mouth of her "residency" and has asked for a third month and been granted as long as I can get a doctor to sign off on the importance of it for her. With two doctors in the family I'm sure i can get a signature from someone. :-)

Go Annie! She (and the rest of your family and all others involved with her) will remain on our prayer lists, of course.

Richard, You and your daughter are continuing in my prayers. God is looking out for her and I thank God she is asking for more time at the treatment center.
Susan, You and your sons continue in my prayers.
Another prayer request from me. God has put in my life a young lady who is a victim of domestic violence. She is staying with me at my invitation. Please pray that she get a job soon. The one thing that really bothers me is her thinking that someone is following her. The violence happened in CA and she thinks some one is following her here in NV. She has been here since Nov of last year. That type of thinking really bothers me. I have told her that if anyone followed us, I would immediately call the police. I also told her that I have 3 nephews in this area who are policemen. I also told her, it might be in her best interest to see a psychiatrist about this and the other things that bother her. Most importantly I have told her that God would not permit anything that He does not want to happen to her.
According to her she has been a Christian for about 10 years.
Please pray for me, that I do not let her problems get to me and that she get the a job and gets the help that she needs.
Thanks for all the prayers.

Diana,

Please allow me to offer a professional opinion here, which I try to avoid, but I think this is important.

Many cases of domestic violence do indeed include stalking over a period of many months or years, and across state lines. 90% of domestic violence homicides are preceeded by stalking. I dont say this to unnecessarily alarm you, but to suggest the possiblility that this may be real.

I would suggest that if she hasnt already, that she contact the local battered womens shelter, for free support groups, and most importantly, safety planning. (They may even be able to offer legal aid and job training in some cases) They could also help to assess the danger level, and refer her to appropriate counseling if indicated. Their phone number can usually be found in the front cover of most phone books for the resources in your area.

Domestic violence is about power and control. Many perpetrators attempt to make their victims look crazy. Even a Restraining Order or TPO, does not insure safety. Violence often escalates when an order is taken out, so a safety plan is important.

I dont say this to undermine the power of prayer, which of course is a first and ongoing defense, but to educate. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I will pray.

Lori,
Thanks for the information.
The young lady is no longer with me as she had more problems than I felt comfortable with. Thanks for the prayers and please continue to pray for her.

Dear friends

I want to ask for the prayers of everyone here for a study group of about 8-10 people at my church who are studying the New vs: Old Covenant after church each week.

At the moment it is sort of a "stealth" group though all are welcome who feel lead to study and are open to the leading of the Holy Spirit. This last Saturday we met from 3pm - 9:30pm. That included an hour for a light supper and about 1 1/2 hours at the end for prayer. It was really awesome and a great blessing.

A second prayer request is that Cherry B., a member of our church, will be given the words to speak and touch the hearts of those attending our church this Friday night. She will speaking on why we need to study the very foundations of our church. This is an outgrowth of the meeting at the church when Hershel Hughs spoke. If any of you can it would be great if you could attend and support her. At the very least keep us all in prayer.

In His hands,

Richard

PLease pray for an attorney in St Louis whose sister is working at 3ABN. He has never been an SDA but is afraid she will become confused since she is a new Christian. Pray that God will protect her and keep her safe and will lead her by his Spirit and that he will ultimately use this experience at 3ABN as a blessing to her and many others. God knows the plans He has for her future. PLease pray for the attorney who requested help, and for me, too.

Praying now, Bob. This woman is, I believe, in spiritual danger. But God has a way of using these experiences to grow us deeply beyond what we would otherwise growóif we seek truth and submit our experiences to Him.

Awesome Richard, I will continue to pray for this group and for Cherry. Cant wait to see what God is doing in all of this! God puts us where He needs us, if we are willing to be used by Him, for His Glory.

Will Pray Bob!

Good news Diana! I will continue to pray. Perhaps that info was meant for someone else.

For what it's worth, Cherry is my sister. I think she's a great prayer warrior and a real woman of God. I consider her to be a spiritual mentor to me. She spoke truth to me when I could not begin to comprehend it because I was still spiritually dead. She is now attempting to do the same for others against much resistence and spiritual warfare. She has a great and kind heart for Adventists and an especially great love for Celebration Center. I pray that the Holy Spirit will move powerfully through my sister Cherry and that He will open hearts and minds.

Chris
