Thank you all for your prayers and words of encourgement. I printed them off and took them to the hospital and showed my mom and she cried. It really meant alot. Thanks, again. My step-dad, Carl, continues to hang in there. I know that God is hearing our prayers.

Tricia,
Welcome to FAF. I will also pray for your stepdad, you, and your mother. This must be a challenging time for you all.

I know you will continue to find comfort here, as you will not find judgement, nor condemnation on this forum. You will find fellow seekers of truth, and authentic fellowship. You are free to share your heart, your pain, your joy, and your fears.

We are bound together by our understanding of salvation through Jesus alone, and continue to be amazed by the joy and freedom that understanding allows.

Again, you are welcome here,

Randy

Okay Colleen, don't freak out, but for the last two days, I have been impressed over and over to pray for you. It seems every other SDA/FSDA site I lurk at mentions you by name and what they are saying isn't kind. Then this morning I'm reading a Proclamation and one of the letters attacks you by name. I'm sure this has something to do with it, but I didn't respond yesterday when the Holy Spirit told me to post it here and He hasn't changed his message to me, so here it is.

Father, I'm not sure why I'm being impressed to pray for Colleen right now or why You are telling me to get others to pray also, but I don't need to know. I'll just obey. Please place Your hands around Colleen and all she holds dear. Keep them safe. Heal their wounds. Bless their lives. Keep the attacks of the evil one at bay. I praise You for Your interest in our lives and Your mercy and love.

Javagirl,
You are in my prayers.
Father in Heaven. You are the I AM, the Alpha and Omega. Be with JG as she makes a trip to be with her father. You know what is the matter with him. Keep him, JG and the family in your awesome hands. Protect JG as she travels, with your angels. May your name be honored and glorified.
Thank you God for answering this prayer.
You are always Awesome.

My wife's dad is in the hospital. He almost died Friday night, and was short of breath a few minutes ago. He's 87 and a very bitter former SDA. He was not raised a Christian, became SDA for about five years around the time my wife was born, then left the church. I think he equated Adventism with Christianity and just gave up, but he would never discuss it. I don't criticise him at all for his frustration (I think he never could untangle the hopeless old covenant theology of adventism) but I wish he'd let go of all that and just respond to God's Spirit. I love him and I hate to see him slip into eternity without Jesus as a result of his bitterness, but I'm afraid it may happen.
About five years I lost an uncle who was a life long SDA ( he raised up churches and fully believed the righteousness by human obedience theology of EGW) and on his death bed he knew and fully realized (and said) that he was a lost man. What an awful death. Death without Jesus is a lousy deal, and I've seen enough already. It's not too late for my wife's dad. Please pray for him. His name is Chester.

Thank you all for your faithfulness in praying. We all arrived safely, despite tornadoes all around Crossville Tn where we all met.

I really felt like I was going to say goodbye to my father, and grieved heavily all the way there. We had a peaceful time, and he was quite alert. At one point, while listening to songs, I was pointing out to the caregivers which ones were his favorites. Then, "I'd rather have Jesus", played, and he spoke up and said "THATS my favorite". He also sang along with Mansion over the hilltop, and we both were smiling and peaceful. Im so grateful for that time, for the Blessed assurance we both shared.

Bob, I will pray as well, for Chester. God hears the prayers of his children, as they rise to the throne of Grace.

Bob,
I am praying for Chester.
Father in Heaven, You are the Great Physician and you know best for Chester. I pray that you will send the Holy Spirit to him and that he may know Jesus and that Jesus is all he needs.

Please pray today for our pastor, John Bishop. He is a young, dynamic mouthpiece for God. He found out this week that he has stage 5 melanoma (on a scale of 1-5, 5 is most severe).
He is going to surgery to have a bunch of lymph nodes removed soon. We are praying that the cancer hasn't spread through his lymph system.
Our church is waiting this out tensely right along with him.

I'm in need of prayer, so posting my prayers here. My husband and I started a company; he left the massive corporation just 2 months ago. We are now looking for clients. I know it sounds backwards, but was against ethics to get clients before he left the Corp, got confirmation after confirmation from the Lord that this is what He wanted us to do, so did it, and now are in the wait and see mode. So much in our lives feels awkward, like walking in too big shoes. Leaving Adventism, starting this company, etc... but The Lord is Good. We must trust Him. Please pray for our peace as I'm having a lot of chest and down the arm pains. It might be my thyroid (too high). And the entire fam except me got the flue- high fevers, etc....

Lisa, I'll be praying for you and your family.

As Joan Yorba-Gray said to us one day several months ago (she's the one who, with her husband, is doing the Spanish translation of Proclamation), it's important to put on the armor of God every day because our struggle is not with flesh and blood. (Ephesians 6:10-18).
