Please continue praying for Carol. She is doing well, but of course this is still a critical time. SHe is still in pain, when she is alert. Nurse said that should subside as the swelling goes down. She is in PAC recovery still, I think that is Post Anesthesia Care recovery, so visitation is extremely limited. I did get to see her briefly today. Its always a shock to see someone post surgery-, reminded me how serious this surgery was.
She did have a brief time of clarity while I was visiting and praying for her. At one point, I called her "Mary" in the prayer(her mother and daughters name) instead of Carol, and she caught me and smiled, and agreed that it would be good if I kept praying for Mary as well. :-).

Please feel free to post other prayer requests here. Nothing is unimportant to God. I know Carol will want to know who she can pray for as soon as she is able. Last week, she was praying for others as she waited in the hall for MRI's etc. When I would enter her room, she would ask me who I prayed for in the hospital that day. Lots of good stories there.

To you hospital workers: I was really moved, when praying in the hospital chapel each day, at the sight of Drs., nurses, lab techs, and houskeeping staff who would drop into the chapel, read the prayer requests, pray for a bit, and then go about their day. It was very comforting.

I need some prayer support for my 13-year old son, Christopher. He's really struggling with normal 13 year old in a divorced home with a working momma things. All the things of coming home to an empty house and needing to stay after school and not having a way home and not having a dad around to support you and the social challenges that come in a new school and trying to fit in and not fit in all at the same time. Learning how to study and be more self-sufficient in your studies and prioritizing time and making wise choices... so many things seem to be hitting his young heart right now. And he is such a good son. He has so many fine characteristics that a secular environment seem to devalue and awkward social skills make it even more challenging. My heart aches that he doesn't have a strong male role model in his life that can take him under his wings and shephard him at this critical stage in life. I've kindof forced scouts upon him so he has some male bonding type experiences, but I know he doesn't always enjoy it. I feel so helpless because I do have to work and my job just is not that flexible to what he may need and I've been trying to find something that would allow me more freedom to be there for him, but as of yet, that hasn't materialized. It just breaks my heart as he goes through these normal things given all the circumstances that surround our lives. I also pray for a strong Christian friend to see Christopher for the very gentle spirit and soft hearted young man he is and appreciate the loyal friend he is. With all the changes we've endured the last few years, it's taken a toll on Christopher who has always had more responsibility than his young years could probably bear because of his sister. I just pray that he will be able to work through some of these very challenging emotions and become the young man God wants him to be. I'd also pray that I'm part of the solution rather than the problem, whatever that may mean, and the sensitivity to find that direction.

Melissa,
My heart goes out to you because I was a single parent of a boy just like yours. He liked airplanes and the military, so he found male role models in the Civil Air Patrol. That helped him so much.
What about the Big Brothers? Have you thought of that organization?
Father in Heaven, You are the all knowing God of the universe. Show Melissa how to help her son at this time. You know what they both need. Send some one to be a big brother to Christopher.
Put words in Melissa's mouth when she speaks to him that they are the words that you want said. You helped me with my son, so I know you will help Melissa with hers. Thank you for doing this right now.
As always God, you are awesome.

Carol and Lori,
I just returned this evening from a l-o-n-g weekend away. You have been in my prayers and on my mind continually since I left home Thursday night. I am praising God for His sovereign kindness and leading in your lives. You will both NEVER forget this time with Him. It is through these valleys that we see more fully His unfailing love.

Melissa, I will also pray for Christopher and for you.

Dear Father, please protect and nurture Christopher and strengthen his heart. Please give Melissa Your wisdom and words and insight, and please help her to be able to trust Christopher to You in all those "places" where she can't solve his problems.

Thank you for promising to be a Father to the fatherless and a husband to the widows. Thank you that Melissa can turn to You and that You will also guide and direct Christopher, bringing Your healing and discipline and authority into his life.

We thank You for what you are doing even now for both of them, and thank you that You will supply their needs.Thank you for comforting their hearts and for bringing Melissa into our fellowship.

In Jesus' name,
Amen

Colleen

We have alot in common. I'm right there with ya. I've found church to be so helpful, at least the one I go to. The kids love the programs on Wed. night and they do a lot of extra stuff with them, trips, Fri. night stuff, etc.

Are you involved in a good church with youth programs?

I will pray for Christopher. E-mail me anytime kennethfloss@aol.com

You too, Javagirl---I'll give you my #

Please continue in focused prayer for Carol. She is still very critical. Today she was less alert, lethargic, having trouble focusing. She is still in PACU. They are evaluating for a possible stroke. Please continue to pray for her family as well.
