Well, my mother's surgery was as successful as we could have hoped for. They were able to remove the tumor itself, but were very frank that it was so close to the blood vessels that it is unrealistic to think there aren't cancer cells in her blood system. We know with 100% certainty it will grow back, and it is only a matter of time. The surgery ended up only taking 8 hours and the farthest lymph node they tested was not malignant. We won't know about the closer nodes they removed and have pathology on the tumor itself for about 10 days. It was about 8 pm last night before we could slip into recovery and see her for a few minutes. The average life expectancy following the surgery is 18 months, so the news is still terminal in a human perspective, but she will get about twice the time she would have had without the surgery, by statistics. We know God can heal and do anything, but I've personally not seen a miracle yet, so I remain firm on what is and not what "could" be. I hope that doesn't sound too negative. I just hate having high hopes cuz they always crash.

Thanks for your prayers and she will continue to need them. I'd be thrilled to see my first miracle.

Freeindeed,
God's timimg is perfect, as we submit to His will. My exodus did not make sense from a human timing standpoint, yet after two months out, I see why it needed to happen when it did. Im so glad He enabled me to obey, when He said it was time to go.

The most blessed and profound prayer of my life, was the day I turned in my "resignation letter to the church".

As I prayed before a Holy God, with completely empty hands, with absolutely NOTHING to offer God--no righteousness or good works of my own, no church umbrella, no family religious tradition or approval, no day, no prophet, no special revelation or privilege--Words cannot describe that experience fully.

The closest description I can offer, is thatI was truly able to experience the fullness and completeness of Gods GRACE and Heart for me.

His Grace is enough.

Praying for you and your family.

Requesting prayer for my ankle. On February 19, I underwent an allo-graft to replace the weight-bearing surfaces of my ankle. A little over a week ago my orthopedist removed a "fixator" that had begun to fester its way through the skin of my heel. I began physical therapy this past Monday, and I know that she did not intend to, but she put a lot of pressure on the area where the fixator had been removed and was still sutured. The heel swelled up to the size of a softball in a little over three hours. I spent last night in Emergency and am being treated for cellulitis and there was some concern that I might develop a bone infection. Please pray for healing. I will be taking some heavy-duty antibiotics for a while.

Some time ago I had asked for prayer for Patti, a daughter in law of a friend of mine. It has been a long time (it seams to me since I've heard) while the Docs were deciding what to do she had a seizure and was hospitalized I'll forward the
report I just received. Please continue to include Patti in
your prayers that God's will be done. She does have a good support system.

Subject: Update on Patti

Hello Everyone,

Sorry for not communicating earlier, so hereís the update regarding Patti.

The past few weeks since Patti was released from the hospital after having an episode of seizures have been pretty intense. With some amazing assistance from our coupleís Bible study and some incredible volunteer support, we commenced a wholistic/natural restoration plan under the guidance of Kim Schuette. The first week was basically a detox program, and then for the last two weeks sheís begun a rigorous program of organic therapies to help her body get into an optimal naturally healthy condition. If you would like details of this program, Iím going to be posting it on Pattiís website in the near future.

Last Tuesday we saw the neurologist, Dr. Lobatz, who specializes in seizure management. He modified Pattiís medication levels. This has helped her by not making it so difficult to stay awake during the day. She is able to spend much more of her day awake, so that helps Patti feel better. This should continue to stabilize in the coming weeks.

This past Thursday we met with the radiation oncologist, Dr. Shimizu, and he reviewed all the notes from the other specialists and recent MRI scans. He is going to be taking Pattiís case to the Scripps Tumor Board on Monday. Dr. Ott, a partner to Dr. Ostrup (Pattiís neurosurgeon), is on that tumor board. He is the Executive Director for the San Diego Gamma Knife Center. Also on that board is Dr. Hodgens who is the Director of Radiation Oncology at Scripps Memorial Hospital. They will be reviewing Dr. Shimizuís request to consider Patti for Gamma Knife Surgery. Dr. Shimizu, Dr. Ott and Dr. Hodgens are foremost experts on Gamma Knife Surgery, and we are incredibly blessed to have these experts taking care of Patti. If you want to know more about the details of Gamma Knife Surgery, please go to http://virtualtrials.com/gamma.cfm.

Assuming that the Tumor Board agrees with Dr. Shimizuís request, they will schedule the procedure within the next two weeks.

Please pray that God will guide the thinking of these specialists as they consider the best possible care for Patti. Also please pray that the required approvals through insurance will go smoothly and without delay.

Please remember that itís difficult right now for Patti to try and respond to everyone who has so kindly communicated with her. She is getting all the emails and appreciates the prayers and words of encouragement. You can email her directly at pattilang2000@yahoo.com.

Thank you for your continued prayer support and for all the encouraging emails.

Under His wing,

Kendell

Update from Wayne re Carol:
Hi again,
I have very good news this morning. Carol moved her left arm above her head in PT this morning. They are using a machine that stimulates the nerves and muscles in her arm and after the treatment she was able to lift her arm
more than at any other time since her surgery. This is a real blessing from the Lord.

I can see more things the Lord is doing in our lives - things that I won't go into here - that give me even more hope and faith, not to worry
about what the future might bring. Blessings and much thanks to you all, from Carol and I, for all the prayer and concern during this time in our
lives!!

Regards,

Wayne

From Lori:
I can tell you first hand what that "Blessing from the Lord" meant to me re Carol moving her arm. I went in to see her, fully intending to pray for her--however, I fell apart on the way there re some personal stuff. I got the benefit of two hugs from her, with BOTH her arms! Didnt realize how much I had missed that!

I still need prayer for my famiy situation, especially for my son. It's been one of those weeks when I need it the most, and have just felt to raw to post a request. I think that is why I pray for the unspoken requests on this forum. Sometimes when I need it the most, its hard to ask.
Praying those requests for you all.

Javagirl,

Thank you for your prayers. God's timing is perfect. It's amazing how things work when we step out in faith. One week from today I will be handing in my resignation letter and will no longer be employeed by the SDA church. I don't know how it will all work out exactly and I don't need to. He is faithful.

The amazing thing is that he has given us a choices to choose from. We don't have just one option. It's exciting and scary at the same time. Income, health insurance, and all the other things that go along with it can seem overwhelming. But, again, His timing is perfect and I am confident that when I look back on this I will see clearly how He caused things to happen for his purposes.

Keep praying.

Lori,
Thanks to you and Wayne for the updates on Carol. As a therapist, I know how exciting it is to see some one move an arm that could not be moved the day/week before. I will continue praying for Carol and her family.
I will also continue praying for you and your son.
God is holding you at this time in His awesome arms. He will not drop you or let go of you.
Freeindeed,
God is with you also and you continue in my prayers.

Freeindeed, this is such an exciting and even risky time for you and your family. I understand that leap into the unknown, and God is completely faithful. He will catch you as you step off that cliff!

I continue to pray for you and your family. Let us know how things are going; I'm interested to hear how it "is" for you when you turn in your letter. What a collective act of faith in God and also in you for your family to be with you in this. This unity within your family is a true gift from God.
