I feel that God is tugging at me to do something different, maybe going to another church where I can get my Bible study as well as a good Biblical sermon. I will start visiting other churches, so I need all your prayers as I pray, study my Bible and search. God took me to where I am for a reason and I know when He moves me it will be for His reason. Thanks for the prayers.
I am always reminded of how awesome God is.

URGENT PRAYER REQUEST! My son lost his wallet. It had his social security card in it as well as all his official picture id's and his clearance from the state health department that he does not have t.b. So, without an official picture i.d. he couldn't even go back to Ca. if he decided he wanted to. Someone on here must know who he needs to go to in order to get an official i.d. Please pray that whoever finds his wallet turns it in or that God will let us know who and where to turn to to get this problem solved. Thank you.

The Social Security Administration office can get him another Social Security card. The DMV in Hawaii can get him an ID card with a picture that is not a drivers license. Call the health department in Hawaii and ask about the TB thing. Praying for you Susan and for your son.

Please remember the group at my church studying "Soul Sleep". This will be our second meeting and I understand the first was well attended. We have gone though many trials and tribulations in the "spirit" but God has been in control. After our afternoon meeting at the church about 15 of us will be meeting to intercept and lift up in prayer those attending. Some of us will be meeting tonight for the same purpose.

I missed the first meeting because I was moving from one house to the next as Sara and I finish all the tag ends of our divorce. At the moment I'm sitting here in my new house enjoying the tag ends of a beautiful sunset which I've been enjoying for the last 20 min.

I better finish packing for my weekly drive in to stay with a friend where I spend the weekend to save on gas and have time fellowshipping with him and his wife. May each of you have a wonderful weekend.

For those who know some of my history my daughter had to leave her Job Corp placement and is now staying with a friend. Sara and I have told her that we will support and pay for a Sober Living placement if she wants to get serious but other than than we are not enabling or supporting her in any way. (When do I get to resign from FATHERHOOD?? How old do they need to be??) Boy, this is TOUGH ! ! ! Please keep me and her and my ex wife and my church in your prayers.

In Christ,

Richard

PS: Colleen I might even make it to Carrows tonight, but then I might just go to bed. :-)

Richard, You continue in my prayers as well as your daughter and your divorce. I have been in the divorce situation and can remember what it was like.
As for resigning from fatherhood, you will always be a father. That is a given. You are being a responsible father by telling your daughter what you did.
Also, I will continue to pray for your group that God is in the midst of it.
Jesus said, I am with you always. Matt 28. So no matter what is happening in your life, Jesus is there holding you.
Take care friend.
God is always awesome.

Richard, you and Annie are always in my prayers. I know life can be very hard emotionally a lot of the time. Also, all of you out there please remember me and my son in your prayers as we will be flying back to Ca. tomorrow. He says he wants to go out to dinner with his grandma an then he'll turn himself in. He could get up to a year in county but it's likly he won't get that long. My biggest prayer is that he totally gets over the alcoholism. So, please pray for safe travel and that my son gets the opportunity to go out to dinner with his grandma before he has to go back to jail. Thanks so much.

Susan, praying for you.
I have a request for prayers for myself. My older sister, the one who did not want me to take our oldest sister to the family reunion, suggested about a year ago that the 3 of us go to see a counselor. She then changed her mind and wanted only her and I. She then wrote me a letter saying I could choose the counselor. I have prayed about it and finally chose a counselor here where I live in Nevada. His office is in my church. The appointment is for Sat, Oct 21 at 9 AM. In speaking to the counselor when he called me I told him I would get up and walk out if she started lying. He suggested that I could stick it out. I will pray about it. That is why I am writing here. I need all your prayers for Sat, Oct 21 at 9 AM. Thanks in advance for all your prayers. I know God is awesome and all things are in His hands.

Please pray for my mom and dad.

Once again my dad is in another crisis. We have had several years of crisis with his Parkinsons. I have said a final goodbye to him on several occasions, and God is keeping him here on this earth for some reason.

The wires in his neck, leading to a brain stimulator are exposed. It will require a skin graft. My dad does not do well in hopitals. He gets combative after anesthesia. Not sure he can surive another sugery, but I said that about the last three brain/heart/neck surgeries.

He does know, and has accepted Jesus. Praise God. His name may be on the SDA books, but Im convinced it is also written in the Lambs book of life. The last two times I thought he was dying, I was able to share the gospel, and I know he understood and agreed. He couldnt talk really, but nodded with tears streaming down his face.

Anyway, My mom called, and asked me to pray. I said of course, then there was a hesitation, and I realized she wanted me to pray on the phone. This is the 2nd time I have been able to pray with her since leaving the SDA church. She still believes I am in error, and on the road to Hell, but yet she will ask me to pray, with and for her.

Im grateful for that opening. My sister actually asked me for prayer on the phone recently too. I said goodbye, and she said "aren't you going to pray?" :-). I did, and somehow God gives me words, lets me set aside the family estrangement and hurt long enough to pray.

My mother asked specifically for prayer re peace in making the decisions. She is feeling overwhelmed. She says she cannot hear from God about the decisions, the timing, etc. She says she usually gets peace when she prays, but not this time. Please pray in the gap with me, I told her I would pass this along to my prayer warrior friends.

Thanks!

Lori, my prayers are with your's for your family - you all need this because Parkinson's affects everyone involved.

My dad had Parkinson's also, and died in 2001. We fully expected him to die many years sooner and even had an formal "good'bye" blessing five years prior to his death.

We gathered the whole family, friends and his pastor. We affirmed his life, his trust in Jesus, and our love for him. We "gave" him permission to die, saying that we loved him enough to let him go. He had struggled for so long, and it seemed he really was ready but held on for us. The amazing thing is that after that, he had a peace that was different, and our relationship was more like a gift of time. We didn't fight or fear his passing as much. Not that we wanted him to die, just that we made peace around it.

When he finally did get pneumonia and was taken off life support (except for hydration and pain management; his body was shutting down, he was rejecting even the nutrition from his feeding tube), it was a very peaceful decision for all of us. And he was more at peace than he had been for years. The look of joy on his face as he slipped away was one I will always remember!

I miss him terribly, but know I will see him in heaven. He remained an SDA 'til the end, but I know he had questions about the doctrines. He finally, basically just looked to, and trusted in, Jesus. He taught me to question and search for truth. It was his influence that gave me the courage to step away from the SDA Church and into Jesus alone. I only wish I had known what I know now so I could have shared my journey with him.

I will pray that your family can come to peace around all of this. If that is not possible - Jesus can give you peace even through all the pain.

Thanks for prayers all. Still a holding pattern on surgery, we are waiting for the surgeon. Very few neurosurgeons in the country can do work on my dad, its highly specialized.

Tisha, thank you for your response. Its comforting to know of someone else who has been thru this, and also one who knows specifically how to pray about this.

I miss my dad terribly too, even tho he is alive. I can no longer go to him for advice, opinions, comfort etc. A lot of the time he just has the Parkinson's "mask". Occasionally he will speak, and sometimes it is in context. Like you said about your dad, "He taught me to question and search for truth. It was his influence that gave me the courage to step away from the SDA Church and into Jesus alone. I only wish I had known what I know now so I could have shared my journey with him."

Thanks all, for praying for my mom. She did report she is feeling better today, and I thank you for the witness in that.

Lori,
I am not good at checking all the threads/posts when I check in periodically. Please know I regularly think of you and use that opportunity to pray for your situations - including your parents and sister. What a testimony it is to hear who your mother and sister turn to when they are in need of spiritual uplifting! God is using you in a mighty way.

Denise
