Carol, it is so amazing to see what a 'migraine' turned into. How thankful I am for your every progress and know how thrilling it is to have independence again. When I went through my paralysis a couple of years ago, it is so hard to realize what you miss by being dependent upon others. I pray for God to continue his miraculous work in your body and in your heart to process all the changes you endure. It's so good to hear from you!

BTW, today marks two months of having my world shaken from under my feet. I'd say I've learned a lot and survived better than I thought I would in the beginning. Colleen says I should thank God for what he is doing and what he has protected me from, and so I do that tonight, here. I still don't understand in full, but just like the person who never sees the car that ran out of gas before running into them, I can only hope the calamity that was in my path would have been worse than the one my path was re-routed to. For THAT, I am thankful.

Ah there you are Carol! I missed you at church today. I know you know this already, but the last two times you were at church, I just cried, I was so moved that you were there, and were able to stand unassisted, and raise your hands in praise again! I just praise God that he spared your life, It really hit me seeing you in church again, that it could have turned out differently, and I was reminded again of how close you came to dying! I know God spared your life for many reasons, but Im just glad he spared you for MY sake! And I know those kids are ready for you to sheperd them in sunday school again!

I'll email you, now that I know you can read on the computer, but just wanted to praise God here on the forum, where so many prayed for you, and to say again what an incredible inspiration your faith has been to me throughout your horrible ordeal.

Hugs and always prayers,
Lori

just wanted to say that my weekend with the in-laws went well. thank you for the prayers. colleen, i do work on loving them for God and not for myself or for them, and that has made a big difference in my outlook on our relationship.
adventism came up only once re: a cousin who is attending a sda academy in british colombia (fountain view, i think), and how important being in nature, exposure to sunlight, eating well, fresh air, etc. was to us and how fortunate sda are to have received that message. but all in all, the weekend went well for all of us.

I'm so happy to hear your weekend went well, Nicole. I know what you meanóloving them for God and not for oneself or even for their sake makes a HUGE difference in one's outlook and even in one's ability to be calm and supportive. It's all about Jesusóeven loving others is all about Jesus. We just have to be willing to be present for Him to minister through us. Praise God for what He is doing in youóto say nothing of the family!

Dear Friends as some of you know we have been having studies on the New Covenant at my church which is an SDA church. This past weekend we finished our series on the New Covenant. In two weeks we will start a series on Soul Sleep.

Yesterday we had 40 attending and at the end of the session and after a time to answer questions Cherry invited each person to pray a Prayer of Repentance and Confession regarding the sabbath and the place it has had in the SDA church and most specifically in our own lives. Of the 40 who were at the meeting at least 35 were actively praying this prayer. It was a most sober time for many of us. God has been doing a "work" in the lives of each of those attending

Below I've included the web address for the "CARD" that Cherry sent out to each in the core group who have been keeping the meetings in prayer. Please feel free to click on it and enjoy the beauty of the "card" and Cherry's message to the group.

http://www.jacquielawson.com/viewcard.asp?code=ZV47062885

If you would like a copy of the prayer please email me and I'll send it to you. It is almost two pages long and I don't like posting long posts online.

I've shared it with two friends, one SDA and one nonSDA and both were "shocked" at the depth and how detailed it was. The nonSDA's comment was that this prayer was very specific and included the issues that have made SDAs a cultic force in the eyes of many Christians.

In Christ,

Richard

Richard, Great news. God is on the move in big ways. Prayer indeed changes things. Cant wait to hear what happens as the true seal, the Holy Spirit, replaces those vacant spots in the hearts where an idol of a day once stood!

Send me a copy of the prayer please!

I've had several people from here email me and ask for a copy of the prayer, after reading the Prayer of Deliverance they have emailed me back and asked that I post it here for every one to see.

After the prayer there was a palpable sense of freedom and joy on the faces of many. I even think there was a greater sense of freedom from many who have already stepped out of the denomination. They had come to a realization of deeper issues.

In Christ,

Richard rtruitt@mac.com

Prayer of Deliverance for the
Adventist Heart

Father in Heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus who has purchased my salvation on the cross by becoming a curse for me and fulfilling the law on my behalf. I acknowledge that you are present and that you will hear and answer this prayer. I stand in the truth that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to the resurrected Christ. I ask You to fill me with Your Holy Spirit and lead me into all truth. I pray for Your complete protection over my life and the lives of my family members.

As a child of God seated with Christ in heavenly places, and in the name and authority of the Lord Jesus Christ, I command Satan and all evil spirits to release me in order that I can be free to know and choose to do the will of God. I refuse to be intimidated by Satanís lies whether they have been passed down to me thru my heritage or I have chosen to believe them myself.

Lord, I ask You to guard my heart and renew my mind and clearly reveal to me any and all involvement I have had either knowingly or unknowingly with cultic or occult practices or beliefs, false religions, false doctrines and false teachers. Then give me the courage to confess them and renounce any ongoing affiliation or assent to their power over me.

Lord, I confess that I have been guilty of idolatry with respect to the Sabbath and have lifted it above Jesus. I confess my sin of pride with respect to the Sabbath in that I have considered myself to be more highly esteemed by God than other members of the body of Christ by revering it. I confess that I have not pursued a knowledge of the truth with respect to the Sabbath and have been stiff-necked in responding to the Holy Spiritís attempts to reveal those truths to my heart. I take responsibility for accepting what others have taught me instead of coming to the Spirit of Truth for myself regarding the Sabbath. I repent of these sins and ask for Your forgiveness. (Pause and go over these words and let the Holy Spirit show you your own involvement.)

I repent of any words I have spoken that have brought harm or deception to others because of my false understanding of the Sabbath. I repent of my participation in the sins of my church in any and all harmful statements, attitudes and policies against other believers and ask that you would repair the damage I have inflicted on them whether knowingly or unknowingly. I renounce the assertion that those who meet on the Lordís Day, Sunday, are Babylon. I repent of my duplicity in asserting that those who do not keep the Sabbath will receive the mark of the beast. I ask Your forgiveness for my own culpability in condemning other believers, whether they are Catholic, Orthodox or Protestant, for not believing Adventist doctrines. (Take a moment here to repent of things that you have been convicted about in the course of this study on the Sabbath.)

I know that You desire truth in the inner being and that squarely acknowledging and facing this truth is the way to liberation from false doctrines. I acknowledge that the father of lies has deceived me and that I have participated in allowing the deception. I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that You will rebuke all deceiving spirits by virtue of the blood of Christ. I command all deceiving spirits to depart from me whether I perceive your lies or not and I ask the Holy Spirit to come and fill those vacated places with truth. Holy Spirit, search me and cleanse me of any lurking religious spirits that have laid claim to my life. I give You full permission to continue to expose other falsehoods that I have incorporated into my belief system that are still unrecognized by me. And with the revelation, bring conviction, repentance and truth.

I renounce all known and unknown sins that I have committed against You by trusting in Sabbath-keeping as a substitute for the death of Christ in my place. I declare that Jesus has become my ìSabbatismosî, my rest from keeping the law for salvation. I declare that for me, Jesus has become ìthe end of the lawî toward righteousness. I confess that I am a sinner and that no amount of law keeping can pay my debt of sin. I believe that Jesus Christ has died for my sins and I receive Him as my Savior and the Lord of my life. I receive the joyous truth of the New Covenant with the better promise that because of the death of Jesus you ìwill forgive my wickedness and remember my sins no more.î I surrender to the working of the Holy Spirit in my heart to fill me to overflowing with all the fullness of God, to lead me into all truth, to fill me with His gifts and fruit, and to write the ìlaw of Christî on my heart. This is what I now believe regarding the commandments of God in the New Covenant: ìAnd this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.î 1 John 3:23-24 (NIV)

By these declarations I am also attesting that I am now a full member of the body of Christ and not separate from them. I embrace the body and commit myself to working together with other believers in furthering the kingdom of God. Now, Father, seal this work in me by the power of the name of Jesus. In faith I believe that You have loved me with an everlasting love and that nothing and no one can snatch me out of Your hand.

All praise and honor be to the name above all names, Jesus Christ, Amen

Wow, Richard, that is an amazing prayer. I am convinced that unless a person who has been Adventist (or Mormon or JW or Christianc Scientist, etc.) actually admits they have been veiled by a deceiving spirit and asks God to replace that spirit with His Holy Spirit, they will never be free from the bondage of Adventism even if they walk away from the church.

False gospels do not come from God. We must do more than sweep our houses clean, or we will be more vulnerable to deception. We have to fill the houseóask the Holy Spirit to take the part of us that belonged to Adventismóas Jesus illustrated in his parable.
