Wow, Leigh Anne! God is AWESOME!!

We visited a new friend's Lutheran church yesterday and I didn't even remember until well into the service that we're right at the anniversary of Martin Luther posting the Wittenburg thesis! The sermon was about that simple, yet profound thing in Galatians: Faith, not Law.

It seems that your husband was wow'd by the same "grace note" from God, at this wonderful timing... :-)

And thanks everyone for your congratulations! We're expecting in early to mid-March. Due date was set for the 13th a couple of months ago, however since then we've learned that only 5% of babies arrive on their due dates! Maybe a St.Patrick's baby?

Oh, and it's a boy. The powerful Romero "Y" chromosome struck again! (And yes, haha, this is where that "circumcision" thread truly originated from!)

Grace - congratulations!!! Boy or girl? :-)

Praise God, Leigh Anne! I know how exciting those moments can be! Thank you so much for sharing!

Ramone-thanks, don't know yet. We'll probably find out next month at the next ultrasound. I keep referring to the baby as "he", it just seems to fit. I did that with our first one (we have an almost 2 year old) and the hunch was right. So, we'll see with this one :-).

This seems appropriate to put in the praise section...We've been thinking about names of course, and this weekend, the amazing thought that God knew my name before there was even time, kept coming to me. I never really thought about that before. But it's just amazing how right now He's forming this little one according to His huge sovereign plan. Wow! "For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother's womb." Ps. 139:13 (NASB). We truly serve an awesome God!!

Congratulations Ramone and Grace regarding your new additions!

Thanks for that praise report Leigh Anne!

Yes Ramone, this is the anniversary of Martin Luther declaring his independence from Rome!
Actually it is on October 31, but we can all celebrate Luther's contributions to our freedom in Christ so that we and our children can better understand the gospel of grace!

Thanks, Stan! And Grace, about what you mentioned, I drew a picture with words from a Tommy Walker worship song when we had an earlier ultrasound a couple months ago when I realized the same thing about our kid... I think you'll like it:

Thanks for all your prayers for my Church friend (from several weeks ago). He is still in a coma, although he did open his eyes and then squeeze his wife's hand one morning. He is breathing on his own now, and his infection seems under control. Other than that, we don't have much else to report.

One big answer to prayer is about where to move him for long-term rehab. I understand there are only a few places in our state that can take his kind of injury. The answer to prayer is that one of those places is in the town where they just moved to, and his nephew works there! It's going to be a long, slow recovery and we don't know yet just how fully he will recover. We continue to pray.

Thank you for all your prayers on behalf of our daughter's family and the birth family as I posted under the prayer requests thread.

They took home the most beautiful and healthy 7lb 14oz 21 inch long baby boy last nite.

It was a private adoption with no agency involved and that made and will continue to make challenges for the birth mother as the counselling available was and is still limited. Please continue to pray for here and her family.

The grandparents live a long way from here and are not close to their daughter. They didn't find out about the situation untill the first of september after the daughter had already decided to adopt him out. The grandma was understandably distraught and wanted to raise the baby herself and that was her agenda and the main concern in finding Gods will for the baby.

Please continue to remember these hurting children of God as they grieve their loss and also our daughter as she adjusts to feeding schedules again and cares for an 18 month old brother too.

God bless you all

Awesome Leigh Anne, thanks for letting us see the details of God at work.

Congrats to Grace, Ramone, and JD re the babies!

I have my own answered prayer...I had a very difficult week, the toughest since my divorce was final. I asked God for mercy today. He did grant mercy, even more than I imagined, and encouragement from an unlikely source as well. I wish I could share the details, but others are involved. In any case, I did want to Praise God, for granting me favor, especially today, and giving me so much more than I deserve.
