Greetings friends,

I ask for your prayers and THE Spirit's guidance and the gift of discernment as I listen to His voice.

I'm getting up at 4am tomorrow morning to catch a flight up to my parents home. My dad does not know about it but he is being honored as Person of the Year tomorrow night.

For a person who has never been involved in politics in the city this is quite an honor. He will be 87 in about 6 weeks and is still active and in good health for his age. (of coarse to even be alive at that age is not a bad accomplishment. :-) )

He thinks we are going to a dinner honoring my mom who has been active in the city for years. I only hope the secret is kept.

I'm flying out of Ontario at 6:30am, after changing planes in SF I'll arrive in Modesto just in time to be picked up and taken to Sabbath School and my dads SS class.

I seek God's guidance in how I'm lead to witness in a quiet and appropriate way.

I'm taking my copy of Bob George's book Classic Christianity and maybe I'll do nothing more than give him my copy and share with him how it has impacted me. ??

Anyway please keep me in your prayers. I know I rest in His presence at all times and this gives me great confidence.

In Him,

Richard

My prayers are with all that made requests.

Javagirl - HELLO! It has been a while, yes? Life has been one crazy thing after another, but oh how I am learning to lean on God! I wish I could afford to drive to Atlanta!! I hope you are well!

Nothing has changed...still pounding the pavement and seeking a better place to live. The current place is rather hostile, full of drugs, sex and alcohol...yep, that's where Taybie is living for the moment. i am learning to be appreciative and patient...but my landlord is not. After over a month of searching for employment, i am going on my 2nd interview on Monday. Please pray for me. I wish i had the strength to go into detail, but I really don't. Please keep me in prayer. love you guys,

Shontay

Thank you for your prayers on my mom's behalf and please continue to lift her up. The news is better. When she first went into the hospital they talked about removing "at least part of" her leg. However the doctors were able to go in and unblock the artery above her knee and restore most of the circulation. Tomorrow they will go in and remove some of her foot, but only part of it, the outside two toes, which is really a blessing. Another complication is that the anti-biotics and pain pills are taking their toll on her stomach and she is fighting nausea. Thank you for your continued prayers on her/our behalf.

God bless you all.

I visited my grand parents yesterday, my grand mother is 78 years and her husband is 90 years. They have both been to the hospital a little week ago and I thought it was due time to share the good news with them, so I visited them with my parents.

I asked them if they knew the Christian Gospel and they couldn't articulate it, so I tried to explain it to them and gave them my testimony of why I believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Please pray for them, that the Holy Spirit may work mightily in them, convincing them of the truth.

Also please pray for my parents, they don't believe either.

In Jesus,
Martin

Hi everyone, my dad was discharged from the hospital on Saturday. Also, they did finally identify the mass as just dead tissue caused by the blood clots (which is normal for pulmonary embolism).

Thank you for all your prayers.

Jeremy

Jeremy, thankyou for the update and praise God for his guidance of those who cared for your dad.

Your family remains in our prayers. I have good memories of the times of "exuberant youthfulness" spent with your dad both in and after school, on the hill top.

I am planning on driving down to the FAF reunion on Thursday afternoon, Feb 15. I will stay with my oldest sister, in Riverside, whom some of you have met. Friday morning we hope to go to brunch with some cousins. Then Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday morning I will be at Trinity. Sunday afternoon will be with this fabulous sister. I will drive back to Las Vegas on Monday morning Feb 20. It is about a 4-5 hour. So please pray that my journey will be safe. Pray for my sister as she does not know Jesus. Neither do my cousins. Pray that whatever I say will be what God wants me to say.
See you in Redlands.

Would you all pray for me and my family? God knows what it is about...We need some encouragement and relief.

You know...when you leave SDAism...and things go wrong in your life...the old SDA tapes start playing in your head...Like: I can't be blessed by God because I don't keep the Sabbath or pay tithe. You start to think you are under a curse for leaving SDAism. I know this isn't true b/c we had crisis even as good Sabbath keepers and tithe payers...still...

Has anyone else felt like this?

Please pray for us...it's nothing life threatening, only financial. Thanks.

Praying for you and your family Pheeki. I think the devil is actively attacking those who are actively seeking God's will in their lives. Don't give in to his attempts to discourage or deceive you! He always tries to hit us with his best shot and for formers ... am I wrong ... are they right ... is very powerful. Stand strong. God is with you and we got your back!

We have had several devestating disasters and huge unexpected maintenance expenses, personal illness, as well as family turmoil in the last couple of years.

I have been quite discouraged, and find myself doubting, questioning God's care, basically finding my faith being tested severely. I haven't felt this was due so much to our leaving the SDA denomination as it is about my learning to trust God completely. Sometimes I just cry out to God to PLEASE let me KNOW that He is real and cares. I want to trust completely, but get so scared when things get as bad as they are now. Everytime we get past one thing something else pops up.

Please pray for me and my family to keep being faithful, and to know God's presence is real.

I need prayer especially, since I seem to feel the most discouraged right now. My husband has much stronger faith, but sometimes I think it is just putting his head in the sand! I know that's not fair of me, and I wish I could find the same faith he has. I'm feeling pretty low right now.

Thanks for your prayers.
