Lori, I'm praying for you, too that God will hold you in His arms and that the Holy Spirit will be your comforter during this time. I'm also asking God to give you wisdom as you work with the new employee.

I also have a prayer need. A friend who has a family member who just joined the SDA church is in intensive care in the hospital. The SDA church has been pouring on the love.

The churches of the other family members have visited a few times and prayed with them. The SDA church, on the other hand, has been sending cards and flowers, visiting daily and meeting virually every need they have before it's mentioned. The Bible worker - who has all the time in the world is there all the time - and is causing some of the kids and grandkids to question their beliefs. He is of course very well trained in answering every objection they can think of.

Some of the adults are seeing through this, but others are confused (and hurting because it looks like the person in the hospital will not live much longer)- and really like this guy. They're inviting the kids to church and to dinner and talk of spiritual things is constant.

The non SDA pastor involved thinks there's nothing wrong with the SDA church - except that it's a bit legalistic. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will guard their minds and hearts and protect them from error - and that God will give me wisdom regarding what to say and how and when to say it.

Thank you so much for praying!

I'm new here, but I have a prayer request.

In April 2006 my husband graduated from surgical tech school. He looked for a job for 2 months and was unable to find one. He finally took a job in a factory running a machine. He is miserable at this job because he wants to do what he trained to do. I ask that you pray that he finds a position as a surgical tech if that is the Lord's will for him. Thank you!

Lucybugg, praying for your husband. And Joyfulheart, I'm praying also for your friend and the family, that truth will be known and they'll be protected.

Thanks all posters and lurkers for praying. I felt almost immediate relief after posting, not uncommon for me on this forum.

The fact that I can post a prayer request, be transparent with my pain and sin and shortcomings, is a testimony to the freedom in Jesus. I would NEVER have been free to be open and real with my adventist community. And I did not experience healing and growth as an Adventist as I have in the last year.

You are so good to pray. I'm blessed. The people that I thought were perhaps of the Devil when I first lurked here, I now confidently and expectantly ask for prayer! :-).

Welcome Lucybugg, prayers for you and your husband in Jesus name. That would be tough. God has a purpose and a spot for him.

Prayer for your friends joyfulheart.

Toria, I ask God to help to remind me to lift you up in prayer regularly. Thank you Jesus for a better report.

Hugs to all,
Lori

I can't begin to express how my heart lifted and began to sing knowing that I have such caring followers of Jesus praying for us! Thanks to each and every one.

I have a prayer request for a cousin. She is SDA and is in the hospital. She had gallbladder surgery and apparently there is an infection in the wound. She has been back in the hospital for 3 weeks. I have not seen her for years, but I do care for her.
Please remember her in your prayers and that God will send someone to her to let her know that Jesus loves her.
Thanks for all you prayers, in advance.
We surely have an awesome God.

Please pray for me and my family. I still come here to lurk sometimes. We are still in the church. There are giants in my life right now that I just don't know how to overcome.

There are a number of new people posting on CARM who are investigating adventism. Please pray for them that they see the errors of it and that they meet Jesus Christ.
Thanks.
Diana
