Jim,
I am so sorry. It sounds to me, from what you said, that she gets nasty after a few drinks. That is bad as she may be addicted to alcohol. I am going to suggest that you go to Al-Anon to help you live with her drinking. I am also suggesting you find a Celebrate Recovery Program in you area. Google Celebrate Recovery on the internet and you will find the website and hopefully a church near you.
CR is the 12 step program of AA( and all the other anonymous programs), but it is Christ centered. If you want more info my email address is on the members section.
I will be praying for you and your wife and family.
Our awesome God knows what is going on and how to take care of it.

Jim, I will pray for you and your wife. I believe it's the alcohol that's to blame. I encourage you to take Diana's advice about a support group for yourself.

I have a prayer request also. My sister just sent me this email today. I've taken out the names and replaced them with bracketed words to protect privacy.

Dear Friends and Family,

I have an urgent prayer request for Baby [my sister's brand new grandsonn who was born three days ago. It's her first grandchild and her son's first child.] [The baby's daddy] called me at work this afternoon to request prayer from everyone because [the baby] was breathing 120 times per minute (last night) when he should only be breathing 40-55 times per minute.  I don't know if he constantly breathes that hard or just once in a while, but his breathing is becoming more labored.   They were doing a chest x-ray when he called.  They were going to look for an air bubble outside of his lungs but didn't find anything.  They don't know why he's having trouble breathing.  They have him on antibiotics for 4-5 more days.  I'm not sure when he'll get to go home, but [the baby's daddy] forced [the baby's mommy] to go home and get some sleep earlier today.  She feels guilty but went home anyway. [The baby's daddy] is exhausted and hasn't slept much in the last 3 days; [the baby] has been crying most of the time.

I'm thinking of going out soon to help out.  My neighbor said she could take care of my dog whenever I decide to go, which is such a blessing.  I'll talk to [the baby's daddy] later tonight about me going sooner than planned.

Please pray for healing for little [baby boy], strength and patience for [the baby's parents], and wisdom for the doctors.

I'll keep you posted.

Thank you for your prayers!
[My sister]

My sister has to fly over an ocean to get to be with her son, his wife, and new baby. Please pray for traveling mercies, too.

I appreciate knowing I can come here and ask my friends to pray.

May God bless you all.

Jim, I am so sorry to hear about the pain you are going through. I thought Diana gave wise counsel. We will pray you through this.

Honestwitness, I am praying for your little grand niece too.

Honestwitness, I am praying for your great nephew.
Father in heaven, please place thy healing hand upon this child. Calm the fears, and grant the parents the rest they need. May Thy gentle Spirit and mercy be upon this family.
In Jesus's name . Amen

My wife seems to be in a better mood. God grants us another day.
I agree , she needs to consider getting help. I have offered before.
It appears that God may provide other avenues that could help her with these many issues that she is working thru. That God wil send her timely information, the right moment, those unexplained miracles, a change of heart.

God works fast! Here's a new email my sister sent today:
_ _ _ _ _ __ _ _ _

I have great news! [Baby's daddy] called this morning to say that God answered our prayers "like he always does"! They called a specialist in to look at [Baby Boy] yesterday. They ran many tests, all of which came out with good results and showing no problems at all. They think he may have aspirated some fluid while he was in the birth canal and that it may take up to 2 weeks for his body to absorb it all. So [Baby Boy] will be going home today. Yeah!! I was thinking of going to [across the ocean] early but decided not to when I found out the airfare would be $500-600 more.

[Baby's Daddy] and [Baby's Mommy], and I all thank you SO much for your prayers, e-mails, and calls.

I've been singing the hallelujah chorus all morning!!!! Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallayaylooya!!
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

And I thank all of you for your prayers!

That is so wonderful Honestwitness! Thanks for allowing us to participate in the praying part.

And Jim, I am encouraged by your message as well. Sometimes, it's just one day, or even one hour, at a time, isn't it?

I prayed for both of these requests, amongst others, while out on my walk today and it's just so fun to hear the answers.

I just now read Jim's and HonestWitness's requests. Praise God about the baby, HonestWitness!

Jim, even if your wife doesn't get help, I believe Diana's advice is important: you go. Thank you for sharing your struggle. It helps us know more precisely how to pray. I understand your generalized struggle better.

Praying...

Jim,
Thanks for sharing this all with us. Sometimes when the person not drinking gets help it inspires the other person to get help also. SOMETIMES. So get help for yourself through Al-Anon and Celebrate Recovery. Learn to leave her to God and let God do His thing for her. I am praying for you. And I am praying for your wife.
Our awesome God wants and loves her also.

I am so glad to hear the good news about Baby Boy.

Nahum 1:7

Jim,
Thanks for that Bible quote. I needed to be reminded of that today.

Honestwitness,
When my twin grandsons were born, one of them had problems that kept him in hospital for several days. I know how good it feels to finally have the good news that he would be ok.

I was so happy to hear that your little one will be ok. As Jim said, it warms the soul.

I praise God for his care of us.

Blessings,
Toria

Hey guys,
Just got home an hour ago. Thank you all for the prayers.
Had all the usual tests and prodings. They had the results in little more than 24 hrs. It seems the affected lymphs are still getting bigger. Also the tumors. Got a new tumor since the last tests a few months ago. This one is on my liver. It is still small, less than 2cm.
My blood count (125 marker) has more than doubled and is now over 500.

What all that means is that I will be returning to the clinic in early June. On the 4th I will have a port placed in my chest through which I will get chemo as it is getting harder to find veins for the needles. That will make it easier on me as I hate those needles. On the 5th I should have my first chemo treatment if all goes as planned.
My doctor says I have a few things going for me....I have a good attitude, and I am a strong person. You all know where my strength comes from. So please don't go feeling sorry or sad on my account. I am not happy about this, but I talked with God this morning before I talked with my doctors, and I felt peace. I know He is with me on this journey, and I know you guys all keep reminding Him of me in your prayers....

I have said it before, and now again...knowing that people care enough to hold me in prayer gives me energy, and during the 'bad' days, gives me courage. I am so thankful for all of you.

Toria,
God is great and will always be with you. We love you dearly here. Is that a grandson you are holding in your Facebook photo?
