Thank you for letting us know Toria.

Praying, from Psalm 84

...4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
they are ever praising you.
Selah

5 Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.

6 As they pass through the Valley of Baca,
they make it a place of springs;
the autumn rains also cover it with pools. [b]

7 They go from strength to strength,
till each appears before God in Zion.

8 Hear my prayer, O LORD God Almighty;
listen to me, O God of Jacob.
Selah

9 Look upon our shield, O God;
look with favor on your anointed one.

10 Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield;
the LORD bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold
from those whose walk is blameless.

amen

Hi All;
Thank you for the prayers/encouragement.

I am feeling somewhat better today. I have been at the hospital each day (today will I think be the last) getting antibiotics through the IV. The infection was more serious than I first thought. I was very ill for a few days. The swelling and pain has greatly reduced. Still do not know if I can keep the port, but it looks hopeful.
Praising God for his care of me, for getting me through another crisis. I know He is with me during those times. He is so faithful. I think of Him and I feel like singing.

Thank you all again for being there.
Blessings,
Toria

Good to hear you're feeling better! Cancer is such a difficult thing to deal with.

I just found out yesterday that my dad's cancer is back, and has spread to his liver. They're saying it's stage 4 now. Please add him to your prayer lists!

Thanks for the update, Toria. I was praying for you this morning and wondering how your port was doing. I'm glad the infection is getting better.

Mary, praying for your dad...

I had another antibiotic treatment today, and have to return to the hospital tomorrow for assessment.
But everything looks good. My next chemo is not for a few weeks so I should have time to recover.

Mary,
I am so sorry to hear about your dad.
You know, I sometimes think that as difficult as it is for the person with cancer, it is possibly more so for the family members.
One of my younger brothers suffered greatly before he died with cancer a few years ago. It broke my heart.

You and your dad will be in my daily prayers. My heart goes out to you.

Mary,

I will be praying as well. My dad had liver cancer and passed away 10 years ago. I know how you feel. Do you know if your dad has a personal relationship with Christ?

Joyfulheart's friends?

What is happening with your friends that were thinking of going back to the SDA?

Still remembering them but wondering where they are in their valley of decision.

Jdpascal,

Thank you so much for asking - and caring. Actually I was just about to post something about them. They have become VERY good friends lately and are calling me with questions almost weekly.

They have doubts - serious doubts about what is truth. They know Ellen White is a false prophet and last week told me a church with some error is better than a church with a false prophet. They both feel intense anger at the elder who told them everything they were learning was from the Bible - and the Bible only. They are aware that most of it is from Great Controversy.

The have recently begun attending a church about twenty minutes from their home. They love the pastor, but still question the Sabbath and the law stuff. We have read and reread Galatians and Romans and they seem to get it, but then come back to the law and pleasing God by keeping His law every time. They are also strong believers in the State of the dead doctrine.

For now, I think they're OK. I'm praying that the church they have been attending with embrace them and provide the church family and Christian friends they need.

The people at our SDA church were SO nice. We did everything together. Most non-Adventist Christian churches are not like that. (It's left many holes in my life, too.) We were truly a church family. We want a church with truth that really loves and cares about each other.

Again, thanks so much for asking. Please continue to pray for them. The elder who studied with them (for a long time) wants them back and is trying hard. Both of our families love that man and his family - in spite of everything he's done. Please ask God to open up the Word and reveal truth to them. My friends (and I) want the SDA church we had, but without the false doctrine. We loved that church.

Even I knowing the truth and all the false doctrine have had a tremendously hard time leaving that fellowship - and they did some mean and nasty things to me as soon as I starting questionsing openly. They don't want certain questions asked.

I think for my friends it will have to be a trust God for provision of a church family thing. I know I'm not telling anyone here anything you don't already know, but it has been very very hard leaving (for me trying to leave). We need an FAF group in Michigan!

Thanks again for praying and caring!

Joyfulheart

I'm glad that your friends have no doubts about the true status of Ellen. The church with "some" error will more likely have the essentials in place and hopefully the "error" will be on the side of the non essentials.

My last seemingly un resolvable question was the Sabbath as well. It has run it's course though since I've studied Mark 2: 27,28 in the total context of verses 23-26 and looking at the parallel Jesus drew between the "moral" law of the Sabbath and the "ceremonial" component of the shewbread. The thing that drew me into a closer look at this was noticing a parallel in the way Mark related the 4 stories of Jesus life in that chapter.

If the Sabbath commandment was really a "moral" law, it wouldn't have been paralleled, here, to the "ceremonial" by Jesus or used as a rememberance of any thing. In my view, the whole of the old covenant, including the ten commandments, was a ceremonial shadow of Jesus who is the New Covenant and He brings us the Holy Spirit who manifests the fruit of the Spirit in us as He continues to write the law of love on our hearts.

It is hard to leave a really close fellowship. In retrospect, our close fellowship was a sham. We have a closer Christain fellowship with a small group of friends that we now have formed. It may be that is one purpose in this situation - to draw you close to eachother.

Any way, you all remain on my "long term list" as do the others with requests.
