Martin, I'm also praying now for your friend and the friend's friend. I'm echoing Toria's prayer, that God will keep him safe and put a veil over the gang's eyes.

It is just after midnight here in GA. I just got a phone call from upstate. My neice just called, My sister is in the hospital being admitted for observation and testing. She apparently is having heart trouble, chest pains, and other symptoms.
They let me speak to her, my sister asked me to pray for her. I have, I am.

Please my friends, my church family, Please pray for her.

Her name is Mary Ann. She is 56.
She and I are the closest to each other.
She is my prayer partner, confidant and friend.

Mary is a true Christian.
She wears herself out for others.

Her husband had a stroke years ago, and now he is invalid and in severe decline of health.
Mary has refused nursing home care for him and she takes care of him single handed 24/7.
She has wore herself down, chronic lack of sleep, exhaustion , all that.
She has two Adult daughters with her.
So I feel they will be there for her.
I do not know how it will be or what will be the outcome of her diagnoses. They are still doing tests and they have given her two doses of nitro which is helping relieve her discomfort.

I pray that God will heal her and provide a way to cope and manage all the demands upon her.
Her husband needs prayer and his needs cannot be ignored. He is bitter and not completely lucid.
He has been very difficult to care for, tempermental, angry, argumentative. All this has affected my sister. She lives a hard life.

Changes may be required and I just don't know what is the right or best answers.

The main burden right now is prayer for my sister , to spare her life and bring her out of danger.

Thank You one and all for your prayers.

Please God, let her be ok..........Amen.

Jim, A prayer for your sister: Father in Heaven, You are the Great Physician, so I bring Jim and his sister,Mary Ann, to you. You know about the problem with her heart. You also know about her husband. You know how much Jim loves his sister. God, I ask that you heal her. I ask that you be with Jim and Mary Ann's family. Hold them in your awesome arms. In Hebrews you promise you will never leave us or forsake us. I thank you for that promise. Thank you God for doing what is best for everyone involved.

Thank you everyone for your prayers.

She has had a rough night and continued discomfort and symptoms of various sorts.

At this point they are trying to keep her comfortable and she just ate some noodles and broth. Thats a good thing.

So far her bloodwork is looking good.
She seems to be in good care.

God is watching over her and I am so grateful to know she is under His wing even now.

More of those tests tomorrow.

Thank you one and all.

Hi, Friends. It's been a while, but I know some time back you all prayed for my mom who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April 2006. I thought I'd let you know her journey is coming to an end and her time remaining has gone from weeks to days to hours. One of the glorious things about faith is that this time of passing is temporary. Regardless of imperfections in the life that has been, we know that God calls his own unto himself at his time. The last days have been surrounded by my mother's lifetime friends. These friendships began well before my lifetime. These Godly ladies came in ones and twos yesterday to say goodbye to my mother and surrender her to Jesus. What beautiful moments were shared with her, though I don't know if she heard any of them. That was more difficult to witness than any of the steps to this point.

She is now 'comatose'. She no longer responds to voice or touch. Her heart is strong, however, and keeps beating...leading to some difficulties in prediction. Several times in the past month, I've been called to get there asap, to find her improved by the time I arrived. But yesterday, her limbs stopped moving on their own and this awful-sounding breathing pattern began. Hospice said most others would have been gone some time ago, so they don't really know how to advise us. But it is clearly a shutting down, and a slipping away. Many of you have been close by my cyber-side during these past two and a half years and as this year closes out, I have so many things I am thankful for. I haven't always recognized those things at the time, but I can look back at the various standing stones and realize that there has been abundant grace and protection for my family.

My mother has out-survived the most optimistic pancreatic cancer statistics by more than a year. I know that was a gracious God recognizing I could not fight a custody battle and the loss of a parent in the same timeframe. It also gave her more time with her own siblings, friends and my brother, who still seems to be in shock she's not going to recover.

But it has also enabled me to view this time without the dust of the custody battle still mid-air.

Most of all, I am thankful for this place that has been and remains a refuge for hurting and seeking people impacted by adventism or adventists. It seems the close of this year may leave behind some of the most difficult chapters in my life. Though I know it's not new years eve, yet, I don't know when I will be back on a computer and wanted to take the opportunity to thank each of you who has held me close in their hearts in prayer, support and best wishes. In this reflective time of the year, I am so thankful again to remember and reflect on the miracle of my custody outcome. In spite of the inevitability of my mother's loss, we were allowed so much more time that I abundantly needed to process the other situation. I wish her outcome could have been different, but if it couldn't, I'm glad it has been as long as it has been. She has marveled several oncologists when they find out how long she has survived since the initial diagnosis.

So, thanks to you all and mostly Thanks to God for clear eyes and overwhelming grace. May you all have a blessed New Year.

Melissa, I really understand what you are going through because my Mom died of pancreatic cancer. Within 2 months after the diagnosis, she was gone. I was still pseudo adventist and did not know what the Bible taught about our spirits and death. So, I am so glad that you and your Mother know Jesus and know where her spirit will be. I am so glad she lived longer then expected. I praise God for that for you and your family. I will be praying for you and your family.
