I guess back-to-back veggie dinners wasn't such a good idea after all. We're sitting in the ER right now waiting for blood work to come back, x-rays to be read and a CAT scan to be performed. Our son, Garrett, started complaining of a sore stomach this morning. He lasted about two hours in school. About 9:00 tonight he started complaining alot. We ran him to the local doc-in-the-box and they ran the usual tests ... strep, mono, flu, CBC ... all were negative but his white blood cell count and a couple of other counts were really high. They told us to take him to the ER and even called ahead to let them know we were on our way. We're kinda freaking out right now. If anybody's still on line, keep us in your prayers. This is the first potentially serious incident we've encountered.

Well, we spent the night here at the hospital for observation. The initial concern was his appendix but I think they've ruled that out. The CAT scan showed inflamed lymph nodes in his abdoman which is not altogether uncommon we're told. This morning his white blood cell count is coming down. Last night it was 25.8 and has come down to 17.2. Right now we're waiting for the surgeon to come by for hopefully a final checkover and will send us home.

Thank you for the prayers,

In Christ,
Brian

Thank you so much for your prayers and your words of support. God is SO good! We are back home. The diagnosis is mesenteric adenitis (swelling of one or more lymph nodes on the right side of the abdomen, usually exactly above the appendix). There's no treatment for it so it just runs its course. His white blood cell count is on the way back down and his fever was gone this morning. Now we are taking a nap!

Thanking you again for your prayers and support!

I need prayer support today because a Hebrew Roots entangled friend is coming over for a visit today. I recently shared with her that we had come out of the movement, and told her some reasons why - but did not go into detail. Last week she showed up unexpectedly and brought me a book about the Torah Lifestyle, written by a non-believing Jewish rabbi. I just want our conversation to go well and for Jesus to be lifted up, not my "opinions" about things.

Also - having family issues with my mom and brother - not related to religion, but severe dysfunction. Never thought there were issues that could strain the relationship with my mom more than Adventism, but I was mistaken. Thank you for your prayers.

Sondra,

Prayer for your visit with your friend.

Is it to late for your mother to moved back to the coast?

Sondra, prayiing for you and your friend that God put His words in your mouth.

I really understand about family dysfunction, not related to religion. I will pray for that also.
