As a parent my heart goes out to you and I am praying for God's will and peace rule in your daughter's heart.

I may sound like a broken record since I've said this for other people in other situations but remember, God loves her even more than you do and He wants her in His will even more than you do

Sondra, I will certainly add your daughter to my prayers.
Father in Heaven, Jesus defeated Satan at the cross and I thank you.
Be with Sondra's daughter right now and break Satan's hold on her. Get her away from that family.
Thank you awesome God.

Sondra,
I'am praying for your daughter too. May she find Grace, mercy & peace, and find refugee and confidence in the Lord.

I am thankful for the opportunity to spend more time in prayer over specific requests. I appreciate the candidness and openess in expressing your needs and hearts' desires. I do lift up the requests and the people posting them here. Sharing prayer requests is another way of witnessing to God's great power and love. Thank you for helping me to grow through prayer.

I agree with Sparrow. Prayer shows faith and builds faith. It's great to be able to intercede for others.

Sondra, I'm praying specifically for your daughter. I have a burden in my heart for young people today. Being a parent of 3 boys (oldest is 17) I'm no stranger to worry, but I'm learning to worry less and pray more. We need to do this collectively.

Thank you all so much!!!! I have very few friends I can share this kind of request with. Your prayers and support are a huge comfort and I do trust God with her. He is the only one who can truly reach her heart! I hope to share happy news before too long!

I'm taking the family to Europe to visit my parents. Everyone is exited, but also a bit nervous... it's a long flight. I would like to humbly ask for your prayers. Flight leaves tomorrow at 4PM EST. Peace out!

I'm also traveling to see my parents. My brother kindly took care of expenses. So I probably won't be posting for a couple weeks. So don't go thinking that I died. Not just yet.

Please pray for me too since this will be in a foreign country.

Last night a sad thing happened, my wifes brother in laws, brothers son, had been having trouble with his wife.

He was at his Dad and Moms house and they were trying to help him get on his feet, the boy received a cell phone call from his wife stating that she was not going to allow him to see their child.

Keith and Dianne (parents) went to bed, but before they did Keith ask Dianne to take her car keys and her purse into the bedroom.

Dianne said “What about the guns?” Keith said “Aw, he wouldn’t do that.” Keith had his guns hanging on the living room wall, as they live in a cabin in the Sierra/ Kern river foothill’s.

At two in the morning they heard a shot and Keith told Dianne to stay in the bedroom and not come out while he went to see what it was.

The boy had shot himself in the head with a double barrel shot gun, both barrels, and it blew his head off.

There is a retired deputy sheriff lives just down the road and came up, he called in the sheriff dept and they had Dianne stay locked in the bedroom with their grandson for five hours while they took care of everything.

They went over a while ago to tell Dianne’s mother and she is in a pretty bad way, they still have not told Keith’s mother and father yet that their grandson is dead.

Right now the whole family is pretty ragged. I don’t think any of them are Christians including the boy who shot himself. I have talked to my sister-in-law extensively about God, but she showed no signs of being saved.

I think Keith will blame himself for the guns. This is going to be a long drawn out time for that family where days seem like years.

Side note: Lock up weapons and put bullets in a separate part of the house and under lock and key. You just never know who will use them.

I guess I am lecturing, but I have seen enough killing for one lifetime. My own sister was shot in the head and they couldn’t put her back together right and it didn’t even look like her at the funeral.
Please remember this family.
Thanks and blessing to all.
River

Father God,
There is a family that is in deep pain right now. Keith needs Your presence and Your care. He needs Your healing. Be with Dianne as well Lord. She heard the shots. Her boy is gone. Lord, I pray for the whole family as they sort through their grief and I pray for opportunities to break through their hearts with Your beautiful gospel of Grace. Hold them all in Your able hands.

And Lord, be with Rivers wife and River as they, too, deal with this loss. Amen.

HOW TERRIBLE ! MY PRAYERS ARE WITH THE FAMILY.IT IS SO AWFUL FOR SOMEONE TO TAKE THEIR OWN LIFE BECAUSE THEY JUST FEEL THEY CANNOT GO ON WITH THEIR EMOTIONAL PAIN.
MY SISTER IN LAW (THE ONE WHO A COUPLE YEARS AGO LOST HER DAUGHTER TO SUICIDE) HER HUSBAND KILLED HIMSELF SEVERAL YEARS EARLIER WITH A SHOTGUN ALSO. HE HAD BEEN VERY DEPRESSED, MY SISTER IN LAW SAID PART OF IT WAS BECAUSE HE HAD A REAL HEART FOR THE LORD BUT NEVER FELT HE COULD BE GOOD ENOUGH...... (THEY WERE SDA BUT HE HAD NOT ATTENDED CHURCH FOR A FEW MONTHS) HE GOT UP EARLY HOURS OF THE MORNING, KNELT ON THE FLOOR IN THEIR BEDROOM SAID SOMETHING ABOUT NO ONE BELIEVED THAT HE WOULD DO IT.. AND PULLED THE TRIGGER.
AT HIS FUNERAL (SDA) THE MINISTER TOLD HIS WIFE THAT JIM WOULD NOT BE IN HEAVEN BECAUSE TAKING HIS OWN LIFE HE SHOWED THAT HE HAD GIVEN UP ON GOD. THAT IS WHY SHE IS SO DESPERATE NOW TO KNOW IF THAT IS THE SDA POSITION AS A WHOLE OR JUST THE ONE MINISTERS OPINION. WE ALL FELT IT WAS IN VERY POOR TASTE FOR HIM TO SAY SUCH A THING,, ESPECIALLY RIGHT THERE AT HIS GRAVESIDE SERVICE.

Dear River,
my heart goes out to you and your family at this time of such tragic loss.
Words cannot express the grief i feel in my spirit for you and your loved ones.
Death under any circumstance is difficult for those who are left behind but this situation is unbearably devastating. i cry out to God on your families behalf that in His great mercy He would fill the gaping hole, (left behind by this young man’s life being cut so short), with His abounding love. i pray that what the enemy meant to destroy this family would instead be the very thing that would turn their hearts and lives to God. i thank God that you are there by God’s grace to console and comfort the broken hearted. May God strengthen you and give you great wisdom and understanding and compassion in the days ahead as you minister to them the words of life.

Standing in the gap with you
Love and prayers
handmaiden
