I am requesting prayer for my 29 year old daughter. She has a prescription drug addiction that is ruining her life and her children's lives. She has been in jail, in rehabs, but she is still abusing prescription drugs.

I believe in the power of prayer. I know only God can release her from this terrible addiction.

Pray that the chains of this addiction be broken for her.

I am praying for her. Have you heard about Celebrate Recovery? It is a Christ centered 12 step program for all kinds of addictions. I belong to it.

Diana, I have not heard of Celebrate Recovery. I will check to see if there is a group in our area.

Hi All--I just got back today from a trip to the news that my dil
that you prayed for before and she did seem some better, has
to hear a report from a CAT scan done I think on Friday and the
doc won't talk to her over the phone--so we are anxiously waiting for Monday and the report--she asked for prayers, and
especially for strength if its bad news. She has been through so
much and this is a new development! Thanks so much. Peggy

Thanks for your prayers. The trip went well and I found an opportunity for missions work that I will probably ask for some input in later on this week. My kids are great, my wife has some post vacation blues but praise God I have been re-energized to tackle the work ahead of me.

I am agreeing in prayer with the requests of the last few days and my heart goes out especially to you Peggy. As a social worker I have worked in addictions and it is a tough area that I never want to work in again. The only real cure is the power of God and I have seen His hand heal some of the toughest cases. Remember that He loves your DIL even more than you do and ALL things are possible and that "He said to me,

"'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.'

"Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong." 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Enoch, I'm so glad your vacation went well! Thank you so much for your prayers for those of us who posted requests.

B247, I will so pray for your daughter! God is stronger than the worst addiction. I would be privileged to pray for God's power to swoop in & rescue her from it.

Peggy, praying for your DIL--waiting on medical reports is nerve-wracking! Let us know how it goes, OK? Diana, how did Tom do?

Hec & Colleen, your prayers were such a boost. They are a witness to my DIL, as I share with her & my son that I am asking for your prayers. She completed the exam Sat. noon & scored 10 points higher than on her practice exam & this will open doors for her future. I do thank God for you all.

Just read my email from last night. Tom has cancer of the colon. The doctor got as much as he could and Tom was given chemotherapy. His colonoscopy was undone and he may get another. Keep praying for him.

The report for my DIL is cancer, no other details, other than it is in the liver and they hope to find the primary source The waiting
over the week-end was hard, but she has confidence in her doc
and her spirits are good! I know they are doing wonderful things now, so much better than a few years ago--Lynette appreciates your prayers, treatment will start soon--lots more tests for her--She has had so much illness, and so far has met it with great courage. Peggy

I have a prayer request
I am leaving in about 1/2 hour to go and pick up my Mom. She will be staying with us for 5 weeks and I love her dearly but it is not something I am looking forward to... She is 97 years old and since she fell a little over a year ago she has not been the same... she has completely given up any desire to live .. no matter how many "pep talks" or how encouraging I try to be to her, she is miserable and cannot get out of pain though she is on strong pain pills and also a pain patch. My husband and I are always under a lot of stress when she is here.. I try to be calm and loving toward her though sometimes I have to walk into the next room or outside and do a "silent scream". The only way I get through some days is to keep singing inside my head... "One day at a time sweet Jesus... one day at a time".. Wednesdays is a blessing as Roger is off work and he always stays with Mom and lets me take the day Wednesday to go to town, do the shopping, go sit on a beach, or whatever to regain a bit of my sanity...but I can't really relax even then as I know she does not like it when I leave even for a few hours that one day and she will often pout or just give me a look that lets me know she did not like me being gone,, sometimes wont talk or refuses to eat dinner after I get home. Roger is good to her when i am gone, but for some reason she wants ME there 24/7.. she does seem to understand on days we work that I go and give Roger a lunch break for an hour or so,,, but then I feel guilty because when she is here I cant be of help to my husband at the store except long enough to give him a lunch break.. and that is not fair to him, though I know he understands. It is not physically hard to take care of her as she can still walk... but it is so emotionally draining,, so depressing to try and care for someone whose only wish is to die so she can be free from pain.
Please pray for My Mom that she will have comfort in mind and body.. and for me and Roger that we will be able to care for her as we should without being so stressed.
Thank you
Francie

Praying for you, your husband and your Mom. That is emotionally draining. Can I make a suggestion? Just be thankful she is still alive.

I have started a fast today because of some issues regarding some brothers and sisters in Christ and your requests above are a part of my prayer petitions. I am so glad we can lift each other up in prayer
