Thank you Diana, Hec, Colleen, Enoch, Asurprise, Sondra and everyone else that has been praying for me and mine. Your caring prayer requests to our Father and His strength held me up Monday/Tuesday while I had contact with some of the people involved. (My knees were kind of buckling!) Nothing outright damaging was said to me (of course, we all know how to keep things well hidden, huh?) God gave me strength to have contact wiithout hanging my head. I didn't know what I would be walking into. My brother did discuss a little with me...he has been reading an old manuscript version of "Pirates of Privilege" by Walter Rae, which belongs to my Dad. I found it in his closet, re-read it and then told my brother he really ought to read it--the subject came up because at my brother's Academy reunion we met Davenport's son who is married now to one of my brother's classmates!(I have been sharing books with whoever will read them in the family) That is a start. He did NOT want to discuss EGW! (Someday I would really like a discussion of the different reactions of SDAs when you try to discuss her. Mostly ANGER. I mean, you can't even talk about her in a very surface, non-confrontational way without a very strong reaction! What is that?)

I will keep praying for all of you, too, as I am certainly not the only one to need strength and wisdom to deal with interacting with our own families and friends who may choose to reject us, which can rip out our hearts... I just want to be hidden in Him and have Him be my strength. I am learning to trust Him, Colleen..I need His words in a very practical way, I need open eyes, lessons in submission and redemption...and freedom from pretending!

I love all of you and thank you for your self-less caring. I have finally written your requests down in a little notebook so that I can take it with me and pray whenever and wherever.

How are you doing Diana L? I keep praying for patients to be sent to you...

Nowisee, I did not work last week and am not working this week. I do not see myself going to work in the forseeable future as the patient case load at the hospital is way down, which means there is less work for the therapists at the hospital. God knows what my needs are without my telling Him. I pray anyway asking Him to sustain me and keep my bills paid. I KNOW HE WILL NOT ABANDON ME. Our awesome God keeps His promises.
Keep praying for me though. I need all the prayers I can get.

Diana, I hear you. I can testify that God knows and He is faithful.

Nowisee, it is amazing to watch the slow but certain (if eventful!) progression of your family, et al, as they are faced with the truth. God is using you to introduce them to the truth, and even though sometimes it seems like all our tenuous connections with our loved ones are threatened, God really holds all together according to His will. Some connections sever; some remain fragile; others take on new life in the Spirit. But God holds us together no matter what goes on around us!

Praying...

I just have to share this:

Recently, I asked for prayer for my wife, Jan, who spent four days in the hospital and another four days in a convalescent center, for a problem which turned out to have been caused by one of her Parkinson meds. She is much better and has been home for some time now.

What I didn't mention on the forum was that the health insurance rejected the hospital claim and then sent me a letter saying the appeal had also been rejected.

I believe I did mention it to Colleen and to the group that I meet with for Bible study. And, I have been at peace that God was in control and that things would work out for his glory.

Today, without going into all the details, I received news that they have paid.

P.S.
The bill was for $26,000.00. As Diana likes to remind us...God is awesome.

Oops, I guess should have gone in the Answered Prayer section.

Fearless Phil

Phil, Praise the Lord And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:19

Nowisee 1 Tim 4:12 set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

2 Time 3:15-16 you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. My dear sister God has equipped you through the power of His word

Continue to pray for my daughter and her prescription drug addiction....she is doing better but it's one day at a time.

I am asking for prayer for her brother, he has an addiction also - alcohol. He was in trouble for drugs a few years ago and is not doing drugs now but still drinks heavily. He does have a good job and he does not drink on the job but drinks most weekends and evenings. Pray for him to want to stop drinking and that he will start reading the Bible again. When he was in jail for the drug charges, he read his Bible daily and liked the church services that were held in the facility he was in. But since he has been out, he has only attended church once...and it was SDA. I have encouraged him to attend a church close to where he lives, it's a non denominational but so far he has not gone there.

Thank you all for your prayers.

Praying right now for your daughter and brother--addictions are so difficult to deal with, but God is more powerful than they are!

Believer, Have been praying for your daughter and will continue to do so. I will add her brother to the list.
It would be so nice if both of them would go to Celebrate Recovery, when they are ready. I am praying for that also.

I know what a busy season this is for everyone, but I covet your prayers right now for my youngest DIL as she has applied to two graduate schools, one in Austin, Texas and USC here in CA. She scored very high in her graduate testing, and has very high grades from her college, but it is a state college and therefore maybe not prestigious enough. She has worked extremely hard. I would covet your prayers for her to be accepted into either school on her work and merit. And that God would direct her to the best school as He sees fit. She should be easily accepted into either one, with her grade/scores, but who knows how this economy and her graduating from a state college will affect this. When I was talking to her husband, my youngest son, today I asked if he would be OK for me and you all on this forum to pray for her/them as they go through this. He is not a Christian (another deep pain in my heart), but he gladly accepted the offer of prayer. Your willlingness to pray for her will be a witness to them and I am trusting God to use it. Her name is Zhenya. Thank you very much!!!!!
