Lydell: Your remark about the Stealthaddventist was especially relevant to me, since I have been writing to an Addventist (sic) nurse who said in a recent letter that she was anxious to work as many Sabbaths as she could, since she did not want to lose the 50% pay differential paid by the non-Addventist hospital where she works to entice employees to work weekends. In other words, she makes "time and a half" by volunteering to work more Sabbaths than she would otherwise have to. You see, the hospital finds it difficult to get non-Addventist nurses to work on her "holy" day. I'm tempted to say "un-holy" day, but I refrain. I mean, we're not talking about a person here who's exactly hurting for money! --Jude the Obscure.

Okaaay. Strange logic she has going. ha

Had an intersting experience on Friday when I ran into a guy who had attended our SDA church while we were still there. After asking what we were doing for church these days and being told that we are attending a church that meets on Sunday, he weakly replied that he was "trying to keep the sabbath as best I can, but some times it's real hard. Even nearly impossible." I'd replied that the whole point was that it WAS impossible and that's why Jesus came to live a perfect life as our sacrifice and we have to totally rest, to sabbath, in his completed work. He stood there blinking at me blankly for a minute then asked, "well, what does K. think about this?" (She is my best friend who left the church the same time we did.) I replied that she was going to the same church, loving it, and in fact her hubby (who had always flatly refused to attend the SDA church) was saved while attending our church with her a few months back.

His reply? blink blink, "welllll, I try to keep the sabbath as clean as I can." HELLLOOOO! Very sadly clueless!!

"And when they thought no one was looking,
I asked my friends at lunch 'what's cooking?'
They said "we're putting bacon in the stu-ew'"

(It was actually pork sausage, but that doesn't fit)
