To all:

Has anyone else noticed the change of tone that has occurred on this site?

To some:

I am surprised at some of you!!! Obviously, post in the last month or so have struck a sensitive nerve. But the purpose here is to glorify our God. To rest in His grace and to show others the way to that reality. I am concerned about some of you. Stop and examine yourselfs (acknowledge before God, whatever it is, that has unsettled you so and get back into the rest of faith) If you don't, I fear that this website is going to lose that which makes it so powerful. Love!!!!

Lori

It seems that there are a few new people that have
an intent to disrupt the free forum we have. But
since it is a free forum and this will always be a
potential problem.

I believe I have an answere to this problem, I
will be taking with Richard today with my idea. I
would ask that you pray that the Lord will guide
us in the right path.

(I missed seeing Bruce at church today, so this only reflects my opinion.)

I believe that we should take a moment to pray before we post anything on this site. We need to listen to God and let Him speak through us. Many that lurk here are lost souls, searching for the Answer that we have found.

I truly enjoy this site, and see no reason to complain. It has been a blessing to me.

I know this discussion went on "long ago", but hoping it's not dead:

As I work out my issues with the SDA church and get ready to leave, I must admit, there have been times where anger has reigned. Then there are other times where I've allowed God to get a hold of me, cool me down, and give me some loving thoughts about where I've been and where I'm going.

Although we may not all have the same amount of anger to slough off, I think that those of us who read this who must do so in love, not judging where each one is at, nor reacting to where someone is emotionally. Compassion for what each other is going through is of utmost importance.

Richard is right, "Many that lurk here are lost souls". I'm one of those lost souls for whom Christ died. Those who write what angry tirades may just be expressing the kind of emotion Jesus felt at the money changers in the temple. (OK, maybe not EXACTLY the same.)

We are the temple of God. When we discover that someone other than God has set up their tables in our hearts, and has attempted to get us to buy the temple coins, anger, righteous or not, is a normal, human result.

God bless ALL, angry or not, who visit this site.

Hi and welcome all over again, Richard.

This website, as I see it, has many purposes. Let me see how many I can count. It's a place:

1. For hurting and disillusioned SADs to safely vent, as long as they keep their emotional contributions within the website's stated guidelines -- Ephesians 4:29-32.

2. For former Adventists who have found Jesus to be their only true Sabbath rest." I think this purpose serves as much a social-fellowship function as anything else.

3. For seekers to question any aspect of Adventism without fear of reprisal by that church or by their families and erstwhile friends.

4. To drop and pick up news of relevance to FAFers and any intersted others.

5. To "hammer out" new doctrines/teachings to replace outworn/outgrown SDAisms.

All right, somebody else may have the floor. What can you add?

6. A place of gentle encougagement to those that ask so many "itchy" questions, some of them even stupid questions.

I'm sure there are many like me that need to purge their minds. Speaking for myself, I am un-able to simply toss most lies that were taught to me. I need to un-learn them to make my learning process, process the new process. In other words, I need to wash out the pot before I cook another pot of beans. I'll bet there are others like me too.

Soooooo, thanks y'all, for being more patient-er than I deserve. I'll probably not be mixing up the stew to much till next week.

Dear All,
I love your site. Check in almost daily and am pleased that the Lord is blessing your ministry. I am not an SDA or even a "Former" - but have been "married" to Adventism for 35 years and feel as abused as most of you formers. So there may be another group of people reading your site. Keep up the good work!
