$1000 Reward! For Anyone who Can Prove SDAs ARE ěTHE REMNANTî OF REVELATION 12:17

Dear Adventist Friend,

To win you must tie together and make sense of the following basic texts:

Under NIV heading: Godís Sovereign Choice:

Romans 9:27: Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: ěThough the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea, only the REMNANT will be saved. For the Lord will carry out his sentence on earth with speed and finality.î

Under NIV heading: The Remnant of Israel:

Romans 11:1-6: I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin. God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew. Donít you know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah ń how he appealed to God against Israel. ěLord, they have killed our prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to kill meî? And what was Godís answer to him? ěI have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.î So too, at the present time there is a REMNANT chosen by grace. And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.

Under NIV heading: The Two Witnesses:

Revelation 11:13: At that very hour [when ětwo prophetsî ěwent up to heaven on a cloudî] there was a severe earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the SURVIVORS [KJV, ěremnantî] were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

Under NIV heading: The Woman and the Dragon:

Revelation 12:13-13:1: When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the desert, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpentís reach. Then from his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river, to overtake the woman and sweep her away with the torrent. But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the REST [KJV, ěremnantî] of her offspring ń those who obey Godís commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus. And the dragon stood on the shore of the sea.

The evidence is before your face, my dear Adventist friend. Please by my guest.

Peace,

Jude

Newsflash! Newsflash! Newsflash! Newsflash! Newsflash! Newsflash! Newsflash! Newsflash!

FIRST RESPONSE TO $1,000,000 MB=SW* HAS REACHED OUR EAR!

The respondant is a man in his forties, Stanford educated, a hard-working and highly paid professional in computer science, pleasant, personable, devout, happily married, and among the hardest of hard-core Seventh-day Adventists.

His response (paraphrased): "Who's the contest judge? Who determines whether or not the contest criteria for winning have been met?"

DEAR FAF FOLK:

What do you think of this good man's response? Is it a tacit admission that the deeply held belief -- MB=SW -- cannot be deduced or induced from Scripture? Meaning no one can prove it?

Or does it only mean that the contest is intrinsically unfair? That, given the right contest judge, MB=SW indeed CAN be scripturally proven?

What are your thoughts?

Jude

Jude,

I think he just wants to know what the rules are before he starts playing. If you can answer his questios perhaps he will play the game.

Ellen White says:

"In a SPECIAL sense SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTISTS have been set in the world as watchmen and light-bearers.

TO THEM has been entrusted the last warning for a perishing world.

ON THEM is shining wonderful light from the Word of God.

THEY HAVE BEEN GIVEN a work of the MOST SOLEMN IMPORT,---THE PROCLAMATION OF THE FIRST, SECOND, AND THIRD ANGEL'S MESSAGES.

THERE IS NO OTHER WORK OF SO GREAT IMPORTANCE; THEY ARE TO ALLOW NOTHING ELSE TO ABSORB THEIR ATTENTION.

The most solemn TRUTHS ever given to mortals have been given TO US to proclaim to the world.

The proclamation of these truths is to be OUR WORK.

The world is to be warned, and GOD'S PEOPLE are to be true to the trust committed to them."

Testimony to the Church Vol. 9, page 19

So, SDA's are God's ONLY special people? What about me? I'm chosen and not SDA...hmmmmm and I don't preach the 'first, second, or third angels message'..

Is there a SDA pastor in the house? I'd like you to tell me that I'm not saved. In person. :)

Here's who I am. I'm a believer in Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior.

I don't buy the 1st, 2nd or 3rd angels message as the message to be preached.

I believe the GOSPEL is more important than anything else.

I also, as a woman, teach or preach or whatever name you would like to put on it, the GOSPEL.

I am a non Church goer, smoker of cigarettes, believe that Saturday is no longer a day we must keep nor that Sunday is the mark of the beast.

As to jewelry, I would wear it too if I had any but gave it away upon entering the SDA Church.

As a lay person, I also do not think any SDA better than myself nor any pastor.

I'm a child of God.

Who is going to tell me or better still, God, that I'm not?

Oh yes, I eat meat.

God Bless you,
Denise Gilmore, email address Lampdot@aol.com

What is the Greek word for commandment in this text. (Rev 12:17) It is my understanding that it sheds alot of light on what John meant when he says the commandments of God.

Valerie,

Greek word for 'commandment' in Revelation 12:17 is 'entole.' Stongs number 1785.

Dear Max,

<big smile> NOW you are breaking my heart! I miss wearing my jewelry.

Tis true, I was so convinced that jewelry was pagan and a sin that I gave it all away.

Years of collecting this jewelry.

Some or much of it was from my own Grandmother whom I love dearly.

God knew my heart meant well, but I can say now, that I regret doing that.

God Bless you Max,
Denise, the jewelryless woman...:(

P.S. I have seven holes in my ears, one in my belly button and love rings...chuckling as I expose myself to all.

Valerie,

KJV Revelation 12:17: "And the dragon was
wroth with the woman, and went to make war
with the remnant of her seed, which keep the
entolas (commandments) of God, and have
the testimony [gospel] of Jesus."

Points:

1. In all the writings of John -- gospel, letters
and Revelation -- the word "commandments"
always is translated from the Greek word
entolas. It is never translated from the Greek
word for law (nomos) or laws.

2. "The testimony of Jesus" is "the testimony
that Jesus bore" (NIV text note) or, simply, "the
gospel."

3. Putting these two exegetical facts together,
we come up with this interpretive paraphrase:

"Helpless with rage, Satan raged at the
Christians. Then he waged war on all true
believers who refuse to disobey Jesus Christ
and or to relinquish the gospel."

Hello Max,

Did I neglect using the plural form of 'entole'?

Well, I was trying to help. :))

According to my search it was as I cut and pasted it though as 'entole'. Why?

God Bless,
Denise

Hi Denise,

I can't explain. My Greek New Testament
reads like this:

ton tarounton tas entolas tou theou
the [ones] keeping the commandments of
God

I'm not a Greek scholar.

God bless,
