I've heard a couple of things in the last week and I wanted to share them with you all:

When believers sin, they fall into grace.
When legalist sin, they fall into the law.

The other has to do primarily with guilt, one of the most prevalent things within most Adventists (whether current or want-to-be-former or even sometimes former) is the ever present "GUILT". Do you agree with that? Is or was that a common factor in your 'Adventist walk'?

I had come to the conclusion, quite a while ago, that guilt is not from God, but I stumbled upon something this past week that has confirmed that again.

As a Christian, where is our focus, who are we looking at,...thinking of,.....lifting up,...what is our primary concern?

- - -It's Jesus Christ, is it not?

In contrast, what is our primary focus in guilt??

Is it Jesus Christ that you are thinking of when you feel guilty over not keeping the Sabbath?

Is it Jesus Christ you are thinking about when you feel guilty about wanting to leave the SDA church?

Is it Jesus Christ that you are thinking about when you abstain from meats?

Is it Jesus Christ that you are thinking about when you feel guilty, ...just like a traitor, because you question and reject the teachings of EGW?

I know what my answer to all these questions was.......I wasn't thinking about Jesus Christ when I was feeling all these 'guilt trips'......I was thinking about ME! What about ME! What will everybody think of ME!

The focus of guilt is self centered, it's not Christ centered!

Guilt is nothing but a distraction to keep us from the true focus of Christianity, Jesus Christ.

The next time you feel guilty.....stop......think about where your focus is.......reject those thought of guilt and put you focus back where is should be. On the unique person of Jesus Christ!!

Hi Lori,

That was an incredible statement:

"When believers sin, they fall into grace.
When legalist sin, they fall into the law."

We can always count on you to nail down some real treasures. Keep it up!

Hi Lori,

Good to see you here. Wonderful post. I'm just beginning to learn to see Jesus in everything. I used to have my focus on myself. I was always concerned whether I was "doing good."

But having "fallen into grace" I no longer need to look at me. He is sufficient in ALL things.

God Bless,

Steve
