Does anyone know of a good book, or other documentation on how and why the New Testament has authority over the Old? I believe that this is a major stumbling block for SDA's. If you can show this to be truth to an SDA, then, I believe, that you would have an open door to the authority of the gospel and it superceding and replacing "The Law and The Prophets."

Good point, Terry.
However, you cannot "show" truth to anyone who is blinded to it. And "there is none so blind as he who will not see."
I know of no books, but I do know of a few Bible texts. But, as you probably know, these are usually "spun" away by SDAs:

Hebrews 1:1 Long ago God spoke to our ancestors in many and various ways by the prophets,
2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom he also created the worlds.
3 He is the reflection of God's glory and the exact imprint of God's very being, and he sustains F2 all things by his powerful word. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high

John 5:39 "You search the scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that testify on my behalf.
40 Yet you refuse to come to me to have life.
41 I do not accept glory from human beings.
42 But I know that you do not have the love of God in you.
43 I have come in my Father's name, and you do not accept me; if another comes in his own name, you will accept him.
44 How can you believe when you accept glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the one who alone is God?
45 Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; your accuser is Moses, on whom you have set your hope.
46 If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me.
47 But if you do not believe what he wrote, how will you believe what I say?"

I do know that there are several books that, rather than proclaiming the NT superior to the OT, they bring out the Gospel in the Old Testament. Perhaps someone can give you better answers...

ditto patti :),

the NT isn't better than the OT, however, God does show us how much better the New Covenant is than the Old one.

Thanks Patti and Chyna. I found a good chapter in "Sabbath in Crisis" that deals with the issue.
