Hello everyone,
I have been wanting to post everytime I recieve something. Sometimes it's spiritual, other times it's mental/emotional and oft times it is actually tangible.
I live in a one bedroom apartment. I came here with not much as I gave away my furniture, dishes, pictures, and a bunch else upon moving from one place to here. So I moved in here with my art equipment, my desk, my little black and white television, my computer, clothes and a few dishes. That's about it.
Now, I have so much that there is not enough room to contain it all and I find myself having to turn down furniture! I recently turned down a nice leather recliner and a colored television. I have turned down alot more but I won't mention it here as it would take alot of posting space.
Tonight, I recieved yet another gift from our Lord. A very nice organ. It has all these buttons and two levels of keyboard with a bunch of foot pedals. I've never played the organ and here it is, in my living room. Wow. In my early years of life, I played piano and accordian. My dad was a master at piano playing and my first song was chop sticks. I have longed to have another piano or some keyboard but I didn't make mention of this to anyone that I know of. Tonight, there is this beautiful organ and the first song I attempted to play was for our Lord, 'Amazing Grace'. I might add that I didn't do too badly either :).
Now, so far since I've been here I've received a bed, sheets, fancy pillow shams, quilts, blankets, dishes, pots and pans, a glass coffee table (big one), lamps, trash cans, a vacuum, microwave oven, coffee maker, bathroom shelves, a shower curtain, a bird (which makes life interesting owning a cat), throw rugs, mops, brooms, a thirteen speed bike, a complete dresser set with mirrors for the wall, and my refrigerator and freezer are so full that I cannot put another thing into any one of them, full cabinets of canned goods, raw beans, rices, and on and on and on. These things are the tip of the iceberg too. The Lord has poured out Blessings abundantly more than I could ever ask. So many in fact that there is no room to contain them all! This in my heart keeps me thanking Him and telling others what the Lord has done today.
Of course the Spiritual Blessings are daily so they hear that first but the tangible are something people can look at. I have people ask me how in the world do I acquire these things. I tell them that our Lord promises us that we need not worry about such things because He will supply all our needs and He knows our desires and wants. Sometimes it's a total stranger that I meet in the hallway that happens to ask me if I know of anyone that could use such and such. It happens to be something that I had been thinking I need to get next, if budget allows. These occurrences happen so often that Christians are asking me how it is that this happens to me! I can only point up and tell them that for whatever reason our Lord is really Blessing me so much that half the time I don't know what to pray! I'm telling you, these cannot be coincidenses. Firmly I stand on the fact that our Lord Jesus is taking care of me in ALL ways. I know He reads our minds, He has to in order for all this to happen. And it's not as though I think about getting this or that because frankly, I hate shopping and don't think much in those terms. Now if I'm out of dish soap, then I think about going to the store but lo and behold, somebody happened to buy dishsoap, thinking they were out and wants to know if I know of anyone that uses that brand. Of course, I'll accept it and tell them too, that I just happen to be out and was thinking of going to the store and now look what the Lord has done! Maybe you all think I'm nuts but that's okay because I can tell you and so can anyone that you talk to that knows me, that these things are happening at such an occurence that it has Christians asking me how this is happening.
Has anyone out there experienced this? I really would like to hear about what the Lord did for you. Maybe I'm just very sensitive to all of this because I've done without for so many years and it became habit to just do without and not think about it. All I know is that our Lord God is showering me with His Blessings in ALL ways.
Now I think about Job or Abraham or David or Solomon and I think to myself, well, God did it for them too so I may not be so out there as some would think. God is doing this and silly me keeps thinking, what did I do to deserve this? I really think that then I have to remind myself that God Loves us with an everlasting Love and we can't deserve it and we don't deserve it but He gives anyway. What a Mighty God we have! If He were to take it all away today, yet I would still trust Him. This I know because before in my life, I have lost everything many times and had to start over and the same thing happened. And this before I claimed Christianity! He Blesses All people.
Praising His name always!
